Hey I hear from the rampers at UA at LAX that ramp crews from ORD and IAD always mix up city bags with connections bags most of the time which can be a pain in the a_s
@honest413 vice versa it's the LAX crews that the worst sometimes u open the pit door and the pit is completely trashed no bags stacked mail or freight in pit 5 and bag in 6
Yea we require tail walker and wing walkers....what is the streamer that the Crew Cheif removes by the Nose gear landing light? It that disable the steering so you can push back?
Awesome push. Right on the J line. CO would never let us push with one wingwalker though. It'll be interesting to see how they do everything now. Of course the saying was the further youb were from Houston ( headquarters ) the easier they were on you about stuff.
Hahahahaha. At CO green vests are new hires. Always liked to see them. Made my senority go up.
nice video of the pushback of United B757-200.. I was wondering that wire that is hanging on the aircraft to your truck is that for you to communicate with the pilot?
@AirCanada014 Yes, the driver has the headsets on. Tells the crew to release brakes for pushback, when to start the engines, and set brakes for disconnect.
I would much rather disconnect from the gear like here. My company disconnects from the pushback first and the tension is severe enough that rampers are taught to pull on the tow pin while the pushback operator changes gears into reverse. This way the pin doesn't get stuck pulls out smoothly, but sometimes violently. Love pushing...have 3,000+ but who's counting.
@paddyfc07 Most US Airlines Ground Operation Manuals state to disconnect at the nose gear. I know in Europe and other countries the norm is to do it at the pushback but for some reason that has never stuck here.
Man I'd love to be a pilot out there... Nothing but blue skies, gorgeous scenery, warm sunny weather... Better than the uk by far!

It couldn't have been southwest, they only have 737's, it could have been United or Delta.
