Good, I like that you share this video, I wish success always The developers say their new panels offer an inexpensive way to collect both electric and thermal energy.
Nice Video That You Share , So Very Nice Thanks You The developers say their new panels offer an inexpensive way to collect both electric and thermal energy.
Let's not forget that-that 8 cents you're not actually paying for. Provided, of course, that the system is durable enough to more than pay for itself and maintenance cost. Moreover, you avoid paying government taxes by having ur own energy. Unless they tax it like cars in Connecticut, where we have a yrly car tax
@tatsumakisempyukaku "having your own energy" could be translated everyone could have his own energy source since the sun IS THERE AND WILL BE THERE IN THE SKY FOR A LONG TIME...
This design has only one flaw:
the parabolic mirror and photovoltaic cell WILL MOVE AND NOT FOCUS THE SUN WELL WHEN IT'S WINDY ...
But if the efficiency is really 70% than these cells are as good as concentrated solar power parabolic system!
Heats water or oil like in Mojave desert solar plant built in 1987!
Well yes, 8 cents is still high for the current status but I'd rather have this then a nuclear plant anywhere within 100km of where I stay and given prices of oil increase, I think 8 cents is very cheap even in very near future.
I personally thinks a batter technology would be Vacuum tube solar collector, to keep the heat in.
at 8 c/kwh that's still high, keeping in mind you are still paying your LDC for service charges, and government taxes in addition., also anytime a new pilot project is launched the tax payers pockets are the ones who get hit. Realistically it may be more but the value is sure there for your dollar.
Let's face it a smaller plate & concentration dish is what is needed. It's logical and apparently works. There's no need for negative comments when such a break through has been discovered & implemented for home use. Wow! Needed for mobile home industries & home use! Revolutionary if true!!!
maybe governments in the caribbean will wise up and invest in technology like this, maybe with the help of the israelis so that they can work on reducing their ridiculous fuel import bills
