This is Sandy Nelson's old hit "Let there be drums", slowed down, then slowly brought back up to speed. Dunno if our Daphne did it, but I doesn't sound like it, it's too easy. Everybody was doing drum breaks like this in those days, and the Shads' Brian Bennet did it better than most, (see " Little B") but electronic music it aint.
This music was used for a (non verbal) documentary called 'Snow' which can be found on the dvd 'Geoffrey Jones: The Rhythm of Film' . A stunning film.
Love it. Just discovered this woman through the Wire website. I used to love the Dr. Who theme (well and the programme!) as a kid, I had no idea the Radiophonic Workshop were so influential in the world of electronic music!
Has Daphne done any other solo work apart from this album?
@TomBandfield Yea they used to do the weird stuff for the beeb. When I was a kid in the 60s I always wanted to work for them to make strange noises and sounds. Check out Delia Derbyshire as well she was the one who did the original Dr. Who theme tune. Ron Grainer took the credit but it was really Delia's work

It's electronically pushing the envelope but it's musically no further on from the Shadows.

Around 3 minutes, the ride cymbal sounds vaguely familiar... I'm sure she could have shoe-horned an Amen Break in there! :)
