i dont understand why they have to wear a fat suit? this isnt a negative comment, im just asking.

its mainly because actors can't help from losing weight whilst in a broadway or westend production. they are performing everyday, sometimes twice in 1 day- which can be very gruelling and you have to be physically fit to be able to perform in the westend/broadway. iv done 2 weeks working with the touring production of Evita in the UK and i lost half a stone from just running up and the stairs about 5 times every night!!

I was there as well, she really out-did herself. It was her last performance because she has many other things that she wants to pursue, such as movies, tv, and recording. She's been with Hairspray since 2003, having done over 1,000 performances, and just felt it was time to move on.
