As an American (outside of the English speaking countries) Italy has always been a favorite of mine.

Which leads to my question, how do the Italian people feel about the EU? Do they feel like it is a threat to their freedoms and culture? Or are you guys looking forward to becoming an economic superpower on par with the U.S.?

Let us say that joining the EU was put up to a vote from the people, what do you think the vote would be? I'm curious.

:-) Non dice "go to hell / go to hell", ma "unerhört, unerhört", che significa "inaudito, inaudito". In Europa c´é un altro repertorio linguistico: un altro modo di usare la lingua. Non ci si manda espressamente "affanculo" con la stessa libertá consentita dalla cultura latina (a meno di non esprimere una vera e propria dichiarazione di guerra personale).

La questione Berlusconi non è una questione di destra o di sinistra ma di morale e di onestà. Lui è un mafioso e così è visto in tutta Europa cioè anche dai governi di destra. Sigh...that is a very good question. Because Italians quickly forget things or forgive them if you prefer. Furthermore, some of them probably hope that he will make Italy big like he did with his companies. But he is only working for himself (and for his mafiosi friends). Frankly speaking I cannot understand why they voted for him 3 times. But if you speak to Italians everybody claims that he has voted for somebody else. Strange, if nobody voted for him, so why is he presidente? ;-)

Das war Klasse und sehr lustig umgesetzt. Der Berlusconi ist wirklich eine laufende Witzfigur. Ein kleiner Westentaschen-Duce. Aber eine Menge unbegreiflicher Italiener wählen diesen "Mini-Duce" immer wieder. Egal hier.

War ein grosses Amusement für mich, obwohl deutsche Untertitel noch besser gewesen wären. Hab´s aber mitgekriegt.
