  • Yes indeed! MAJESTIC is the word for this performance!!

  • gREAT!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @eveoffortune Jeff Haynes

  • @guscourt Thx. Happy New Year to ya'.

  • On a whim, I opened this link and... Oh, my...!

  • Who is this Legend?!

  • i loooove it!!!!her voice is AWESOME!!!!it touches every part of my heart!!!!she's AMAZING!!!

  • He is working them drums

  • HOW N DA HELL DOES SHE BREATHE LIK DAT,AMZIN!

  • Lizz's voice touches your inner being in the same way that a soothing back or foot massage touches your outer. ;~)

  • i always wondered how Oleta Adams would interpret this song, but after hearing this version i think i have an idea....this is lovely.

  • A masterpiece, I really enjoy it. For me this is the best interpretation of this song.

  • This is quite lovely and her voice really puts me in a musical trance.

  • she's a great singer!! and this is one of my favorite songs!!

  • does anyone know who the percussionist is?

  • @dojodog15 If I am not mistaken, it is Jeff Haynes. Incredible percussionist.

  • I love the second half of the song much more than the first half

  • SWEET DOC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this guy is funked up!

  • Simply. Beautiful:)

  • SO interesting. SO beuatiful. SO unique. Definetly brilliant.

  • the drummer must be the nature boy lizz speaks of . :D done with great instincts. soulful

  • beautiful version..Lizz Wright is mesmerizing, the voice, that is..the range is superb..a tasteful mix of tribal and jazz...

  • For another EXTREMELY interesting and artful version of Nature Boy, check out YouTube "Mad Men Theme With A Twist" by Allison Williams.

  • Does anyone have this version in mp3?

  • Omg I wish i could sing like that

  • blow away. Amazing.

  • crazy about this version, only one word manifique, in fact tres

  • :-)

    g

    Montreal

  • damn...... that is all.

  • great voice!

  • Che bella voce!! *____*

  • @Nelanerous

You right men. I could've not write it better that you. Cheers!!

  • Who the fucklinge, is the konga man?!!

  • This song is so far from its original version, that it can't even be called a variation of a theme. I would have loved to have heard her sing this song in its entirety as originally written. He stunning voice would be a true complement to the original version.

  • This is just stunning!

  • I cant understand, who is the drummer?

  • wow..she's amazing

  • The drumming was nice, but Lizz' voice really blew me away. Phew! 8-o

  • Wonderful! wonderful! Ricardo, from Argentina

  • I've heard this song by a few artists, but this one made the song come alive for me..

Liz's voice pulls at your heart strings, and the drummer is a joy to watch.. thanks so much you guys for a great performance...

  • Mowgli

  • This is simply otherworldly.

  • Damn..They are in the zone!

If this doesnt bring tears to your eyes...

  • Nature boy has been withdrawn, sensitive, bright, thoughtful, affectionate, devoted, and faith in love and your love. Nature boy is a persinification of man-heart. This is continuous feelings, and can not be transferred with drums, but with Lizz's voice and / or string instruments is a perfect comb. Thanks.

  • The percussionist name is Jeff Haynes and he's just far out! Respect for him and for Lizz Wright, for sure :)

  • I can't stop listening to this. Its magical. This is art!

  • just hypnotic!

  • Amazing! they made this song so much better, specal when she start to singing.amazin cover!!! i love it so much. and Lizz fitts so good to this song! <3

  • Pure Perfection!

  • I love to sing this song, with a medium paced swing beat, but I confess this version is very catchy. Lizz Wright, whom I have not heard before, and the percussionist, Depram Haines (??), are unique and all the more admirable for that.

    Thanks for posting.

  • Amazing amazing amazing!

  • Super!

  • Any song writer will tell you that the best honour they can ever receive is for someone to take what they have written and put a brilliant twist on it. This is what this version is, brilliant. Anyone who loves to hear the beauty of the natural voice complementing organic sounds, knows just how majestic this version is

  • @melaneros - ORGANIC is such a perfect description.

  • @melaneros The moulin rouge version is unbeatable, this song dont even got the same text, and there is no way that you can compare this song to the original/moulin rouge version

  • When I listen to covers I like to see if the intent of the song is maintained, or if it just becomes a vehicle for stylization. Lizz is fine here. I don't like it because it does not tell the story. She could be singing anything, and tossing her voice around like on this track.

  • its mezmorising very well done i like it mellow chilled out version deff 10 out of 10

  • OMG an angel.... so divine, so pure,so wonderful

i love her version of this song

  • wherever you are in the world Lizz I must say you sing with so much emotion. You have a beautiful voice. Wonderful interpretation. I am thinking of trying it one day. Thanks for the inspiration. love and blessings...

  • This is the best version of this song.

  • perfect

  • @spooch65 leave her alone. everyone has their own opinions, but keep them to yourself.no one wants to hear your negativity

  • a very strong and beautiful voice

  • very nice ! ですね.

  • I love this version of this song. She's great!

  • Sooo good! Thanks for uploading this.

  • so talented... so natural, so touching, so deep, so raw and so beautiful...

  • She has a magic voice, she really tells a story

  • I would have changed the key of the song maybe and really changed it around a lot more. Parts of it are done really well and parts are copied from the standard the best parts are when she does her own thing..Amazing voice...The second chorus her phrasing is done more more interesting .

I have to say though I still love Kurt Elling!! They are both good though!

  • I really like this version!

    kurt elling though---brilliant

  • by any chance anybody knows where I can find another cover by Lizz of "I feel the earth move"??? (Originally from Nat King Cole as well, I think)...Thank you

  • in it's own class.

  • I think that in some way it was better then the original, but the emotions that the Nat king Cole version stirs is just something els compared to this cover. Im not saying it was bad, but i think that she really didn't connect with me so i really didn't enjoy it as much as the original. I think the reason why was the fact that she didn't relate her cover to the original tune, but instead covered the song with drums which actually killed it for me.

  • awful cover .........nat king..... the best

  • @ile579 I would not say it was an awful cover.Keep in mind this is vocal with no musical accompaniment (percussion doesn't lend much to musical notes, only timing and rhythm) and it is a very covered and interpretive song, but I will agree that once you hear Cole's version it is hard to surpass.

  • mmm.. not too crazy about this cover and arrangement. but lizz has a great voice.

  • Great interpretation!

  • LOVE HER!!!!

  • It doesn't get any better than this.

  • Her voice is stunning!

  • Just wake up to the moment . . . . and enjoy it! . . This is jazz, for isn't jazz in its primal essence meant to "never play any song the same way twice, always do if different each time? Beautiful, thank you for posting this song

  • Ive seen Mrs Wright twice. She cant do no wrong people.

  • love this song but they slaughtered it, obviously talented people though

  • the two of them seem like they are in two different performances.. what's he interpreting? :))

  • @Nemogudasesetim I disagree, this is a great duo performance, in the very difficult setting of vocals and percussion only.

  • average and mediocre both vocally and instrumentally.

  • Wow ! never heard of her, but I love it !!!, gotta get her music on my ipod !!!

  • Do not fear:Kurt ,hurts! Its also barred on the Dark side!!

Mind you,Marylin Monroe still looks sexy here ;-)

She starts walking and I move up another notch!!!

  • :-) Well, where "Agadoo" is revered, what can you expect :-)

  • I just tried top myself!!!

    Yuk!!!!!!

I'm suicidal!!! Booked a session with my therapist after enduring this pain!!!

  • Don't bother booking a session - just leave your money to your family and get on with it! The sooner the better ;-)

  • Success!!

I'm currently contacting you from the other side, just couldnt hold back, currently experiencing the fantastic tune of "Agadoo" So much more easy on the ear than this!!You soon will hear the delight when you join me!! Theres a Book on the Dark side,Its called "How to Murder a Classic by LW" Could just be a coincedance?Join ME........

  • Well thanks from all of us still here who might be contemplating ending it all for letting us know that there's nothing better to do over there than drudge through all the things you don't like on YouTube - again! That sounds pretty hellish - perhaps you should have shown a bit more compassion in this life and perhaps you'd be listening to Ella singing Nature Boy with the angels - which is my personal idea of hell by the way :-)

  • On the other hand, if you wake up to the strains of Laurence Hobgood playing Nature Boy on piano and Kurt Elling starts singing, you know you're in the right place :-) But as it is, waking up anywhere and seeing the vision of loveliness that is Lizz Wright before you is about as high as you can go, until she starts singing, and then you've just moved up another notch...

  • Its only my opinion, but i think its the worst cover i have ever heard,my ears nearly puked!Sorry to offend any fans!

  • Dont apologise! Its Murder!!

  • Not my favourite kind of version of this song.

But you gotta admit, she has a beautiful voice.

  • Ditch the bongo crap next time, Lizz.

  • @logansGT amen to that!

  • Hauntingly mesmerizing voice- a remarkable gift!

  • Comment removed

  • I think the drums are awesome. Lizz Wright agrees with me. :)

  • dont like the drums either, Lizz is great though

  • those drums were stupid.... i know, i know... thumbs down for having an opinion

  • Oh my god. That is amazing. There was something almost... monastic, almost religious about the sound. (I'm agnostic)

  • really beautifull voice, no emotion, at all

seriously you may say wathever you want but it dosnt really match the original melody especialy with this stupid tam tam drum set (djembe or wathever)

  • agreed

  • mrcooki3

    totally agreed

    she is waste of time

  • This is so soothing i love this! Its like she does very little but her voice still give me the chills! She is GREAT!

  • De lujo!!

  • So very fantastic!

  • So, so, so amazing!

  • Jednoducho SUPER !!!

  • her intonation is amazing. she may as well have auto tune on!

  • Gosh! I can't really say anything more: it's so amazing.

  • ¡¡¡Qué voz, qué voz!!!

    (y qué percusión...)

    Simplemente G E N I A L.

  • nope is the response i gave when someone thought ellings rendition was

better--in my opinion --no way not

better than lizz and her drummer

  • they both powerfully make their point-

    THE GREATEST THING YOU'LL EVER

LEARN IS TO LOVE AND BE LOVED

    IN RETURN

  • what a voice wow and the drumming is great :-))

  • Maravilhoso!!!

  • Wow This is so fantasctically beautifull

  • Wow, what a voice!

  • any fan of this song knows that the song is driven by the mystique it creates. This version gets that across beautifully! I recommend Jon Hassel's version to everybody. There are no words, but the feel of it is just unreal.

  • Lizz is amazing and Oh yes... Hassell's rendition is beautiful. I stumbled across his work watching the movie Angel Eyes..Just beautiful.

  • Plus there's just so much damn FEELING in this.

  • GREAT!!

  • I really don't like it as much as Nat's version

  • no one will do it better than him!

  • Nat's version was great, but not for the same reasons this is. The instrumentation and rubato tempo of Nat's gave a great meaning to the words. THIS is something completely unique. I feel like the drummer is the nature boy and he tells his story through his drums and Lizz speaks of what he's told her through his drum. The tone of her voice, phrasing, and complete lyricism along with his pulse and attunement to her, makes this one of the most powerful and beautiful interpretations of this song.

  • @Kenya101 BINGO!!!,.

  • @Kenya101 Like he's speaking some foreign language and she's the ONLY person on the planet that could translate it for those of us lucky enough to listen. The original was haunting and melancholy, but this rendition is fully of mystery and danger and desperation, very much like two strangers of different tongues trying to communicate in a lost land.

  • @Kenya101

I could not say this one is rhythmically strict.

  • What is the name of the male percussionis that opens this piece?

  • LOVE IT ALOT

  • voz32emar, voce simplificou o que eu tentaria dizer.

    Apenas, único e incrível!

  • Flawless!

  • Bongo drum set?

  • Um estado de alma difícil de descrever. Simplesmente maravilhoso, quase arriscado falar. Muito, muito bom.

  • I love everything about this.

  • The drummer, the drummer, is the mah tah tah Crim-da-lah! She's amazingly, her voice, spirit filled.

  • PRECIOSO!!!

  • A hauntingly beautiful rendition of a masterpiece.

  • this i a great interpretation of the song, i love her version, i love her voice, i love her emotion, i love the interaction with the drummer, this is highhh quality

  • BeAuTiFuL

  • wtf

  • her voice sends a shiver down my spine*.*

  • Great live performance...is she still touring??

  • I don't know about you guys... but that drummer is the SHIT!

  • i think the guy means the drummer is good...

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!!!!!

  • what a lady; what a voice...i can not describe it in words...speechless

  • awesome, thank you very much.... very lovely

  • ПРОСТО ПИЗДЕЦЦЦЦЦ !!!

  • Perfection! it is the cleanness and strength of her voice that brings it off and the thrumb of the drum. It is the greatest thing we will EVER learn. Magnificent execution.

  • she's got some crazy awesome earrings...i love this song!

  • that gave me goosebumps...

    a very nice rendition indeed.

  • This is nice, but I think Kurt Elling's version of this song is the best.

  • I agree mate, especially the version at the Sydney opera house. His phrasing is different class from this and so is the arrangement.

  • Agreed, I just wish he wouldn't go to the consonant so quickly. It would make it that much better if he held out his vowels a bit more. As a singer it kinda annoys me. But his scatting and his tone and pitch are fantastic as well as the whole arrangement.

  • NOPE !

  • LOVE THIS SONG!!!

  • Very innovative, this is probably one of the best versions of this song. Amazing!

  • beautiful!
