I don't quite understand. Is this Mass Effect 1? I know there are coming out with a number 2 sometime this year. I have Mass Effect 1, but it's nothing like this... Can anyone help me out? What is this?
This is just a demo version, they just changed most of the stuff because they thought it would make a better game, or cut certain features, I'm guessing to save disk space. Some features will come back, like the interrupt feature, which we'll see in ME2.
In the actual game this planet is the planet Liara is on. I think it went through a lot of changes in development - the planet is now called Therum, no sign of human miners, etc.
I liked the old galaxy map though, it seemed really futuristic.

And then i bought it and was like 'Hey I can't interupt people. Also has anyone noticed that sometimes no mater what dialog option you choose Sheperd says the samething! WTF?!! Why bother giving an option? But still, a good game, just was expecting more.

It kills me how they changed the conversation system. That fact that you could interrupt a squad member and essentially tell him to shut the fuck up was a degree of realism I would have loved.
Here's one way you can do that. Just select that conversation for Shepard, the system will disappear, the character will still keep talking, press A, and watch.
I might not always work easily, but it's just an idea. Well, maybe you've already thought up about it.

Still a fantastic game, just was clearly in need of another six months of development.

They really threw me off with the "imporvements" they made in the final game.
The interfaces on this trailer were great, while the ones in-game were just so drab and blue it makes not want to pause the game.
It makes me kinda sad that so many good features were cut before release.
Really a shame.

Also to other xbox fans, we have gears of war 2 due for realese!!, halo wars, mass effect. We got stranglehold before PS3 and we got Skate. before u lot. i'm working for Microsoft since 2002 , i was working on xbox 360,and before it i was working for Nokia.Xbox 360 isn't better or worse that da ps3...damn..when will u understandthat they are DIFFERENT..Xbox 360 is twice stronger in graphics..but it sucks in simple things like...like cooling for exemple..It doesn't mean that ps3 is worse..ps3 is also fuckin' awesome console which is fuckin' powerfull..i'll give u a lil' exemple : Which is better ? Mercedes s600 or BMW 750 ? ...Both are good.
