Was the 4cylinder. rb and ka motors have the same tranny bolt pattern except for the 2 upper bolts and upper centering pin. Vg motor (v6) is different.

hello ive got an '84 nissan truck would like to turbo it..im inexperienced on swaps interested in sr20det or like you rb25det do you think the sr would be less problem than the rb i would like it to be less complicated as possible and have it driveable daily uses.. and ive heard the sr is a trusty engine.put video in my favs,,and love all the info youve given in your replys any info you could reply me would be appreciated Thanks..ive owned the 84 10yrs. driven only 2 weeks maybe go stock for now

If you converted from a KA or Z24 into an RB it was pretty much bolt up right? So If you had a VG30I or VG30E you could swap or convert the motor to a VG30ET? Am I right?

That's an awesome truck, I've got a 97 2wd and I wanted to swap in an rb25det. I can get the full motor, ecu, wire harness and tranny for $1850 near where I live so I'm really interested in doing this swap. Any advice at all?

How easy was the swap. Does the engine bolt in ok or is there a bit off modifying to the mounts and firewall? Any info would be much appreciated

@IraqiBomber116 No mod to the firewall. Need to relocate only the 2 upper holes of the transmission bellhousing. Move back the engine and transmission back from about 1.75 inches (it has enough space with the firewall) and also lift the tail of the transmission about 1.75 inches (because the engine sump will

@IraqiBomber116 be in the front cause you need to do a custom oil pan and the sump is in the rear on the Z24 to fit with the front axle. The RB pan WILL NOT clear the axle.) You also need to do a 1.75inches spacer for the front driveshaft(because you moved back the powertrain)

Cut and rearrange properly engine and transmission mounts.

Pay attention that the turbo clear the steering shaft.

hey im doing a rb20 swap on my 86 nissan d21 do you have a wiring guide you could share? my truck had a z24 im not sure if its z24i or not help would be much apprecciated

@konig209 It's not very difficult, first you need the eccs rb20det wiring diagram to know power supply and grounds of the ECU. After that, there is not many other things to do. For the RPM you'll need an aftermarket tach cuz yours isn't compatible with the RB20. For the temp, put the CTS of the Z24 on the RB20 (the single wired sensor not the 2 wired yellow) Don't worry, you will not need to use all wires of the RB20 harness it's normal! A R32 has more equipment than your truck.

KA and Z24 transmissions are near bolt-on on all RB , only the two upper hole and the upper centering pin who's differents.

ouais je suis sur RHD qc. Mon setup c'est 2 GT2860-5 avec manifolds stock à 21 psi.

j'ai des bons contacts, tu viens de où?

Ca a couté près de 3000$ + mon temps, env. 60hrs

je charge 40$/hr

donc disons 5400$ total pour refaire ce swap

le plus long c'est de faire une panne à huile sur mesure pour clearer la center link, ensuite refaire les supports moteur et transmission, ensuite fiter le RB20/25/26 sur la tranny si AWD et finalement le filage.

ah oui, l'exhaust et piping intercooler sur mesure.

ca prend aussi une bonne pompe à gas!
