well vista and windows 7 makes things much easier. the whole operating system runs more smoothly and also windows 7 has a few tricks with it and their clever ones too. why dont you type windows 7 features in google or something and itll explain everything. i just got the dell inspiron 1545 wit windows 7 and its soo fast

i need help. pressing "f2" to view wireless network availabilty, there is a small icon like a tower sending signals. now, whenever i press f2 again, the icon disappeared. and at the control panel, when i go to DELL wireless WLAN Card utility, it displays an error saying that "there are currently no wireless adapters available and enabled, please any available wireless adapters before accessing this configuration utility"......

you need to press f2 again and check the tower has little lines coming of it if it does your wireless should work again

hmmm all you need to do is press it a double click the little icon on the right bottom hand corner if nothing shows up press f2 again and see if it comes up. if not then go check a colution on windows support

hmm it should sims doesnt require alot of ram. as long as you have 3gig or more of ram decend hard drive and a 2 ghz processor the only problem if maybe the graphics card but try anyway

I have the previous version of this model, the 1525, and I really like it too! It's not the best gaming laptop like any Inspiron, but it gets the job done. Here are the specs of my laptop:

Memory: Originally 3 GB, now 4

32-bit operating system (64-bit capable)

Hard Drive: 250 GB, now 400

I'm totally going to upgrade this laptop to Windows 7 when it comes out! I'm probably going to switch it to x64 because my system is capable.

i have the same laptop only i have the 4 gig ram 320 hd version and it is wonderful, my favorite part is the hd screen simply beautiful and sharp.

the only thing i wish is that it would of come with a built in web cam light.

there is a small light that come on when the cam is on but its only purpose is to tell you the cam is running. they could of made an led light that would light your face in a dark rooom but as it is i get more light from the screen itself.

advice, dont leave the laptop plugged in for too long, say if the battery is fully charged and your still charging it, it will slowley damage the battery and it will become unuseable. if your going to use the laptop for a long time say for like 6 hours then take the battery out and run it off the mains. btw i have the same machine, its great!

I have one of these. The RAM kinda makes up for the slow (ish) processor speed (800Mhz) running and 2Ghz. I guess it's fairly standard on a mid-range laptop.

The 250HDD is more than enough.

It's a nice shape as well; it looks much better than a standard 15.4".

It's fairly light.

It lacks a few features, but is definitely worth your hard earned £400
