@TheRealMidori I was sterilised by key-hole surgery. I ad a small cut in my belly-button & another in my pubic area. My fallopian tubes had clips put on them, (this was my surgeons prefered way of sterilisation.) I chose to B sterilised as I've never had any desire 4 children & I did'nt want 2 ave 2 use contraception (i.e ave drugs in my body,) for X number of years. My doctor would'nt refer me straight away as I was only 26. So I went back a year later 2 convince him how serious I was.

My periods became VERY heavy & painful so I ad a T.C .R .E operation done- where they laser the lining off ure womb. Unfortunately they lasered too much & put a hole right through the wall of my womb. Because of this I then ad period 'stuff' goin throu the hole every month in2 muscle which caused terrible pain. The only way 2 stop this happening was 2 ave a hysterectomy.

@TheRealMidori If U suffer with painful periods or heavy bleeding there are plenty of things out there 2 help U. Go C your doctor & tell them how difficult U find it. They WILL listen. A hysterectomy is a last resort if all else fails. I'd been on various medication for 3 years B4 I ad my hysterectomy done & they only did that cos I was sterilised when I was 27. Good luck anyway, I don't think ure 'stupid' its just that its a very major op, done for major reasons. Take care.

@TheRealMidori Why on earth would anyone want a hysterectomy unless they needed 1?!? The operation is done for medical purposes, not cosmetic. A woman of any age can have 1 done- if she needs it. I'm 36 & I've just had 1. I had a hole in my womb- wall & it caused me great pain every month. As for 'holding your bladder up'!! They don't need to. They are'nt operating on that!

I had mine done Nov 26, great doctor two small complications, neither his fault but my body being ridiculous. I feel awesome now that it's done. And no more "lady diapers" as my boys call ethem. Kind of interesting to see how it's done.

this is surgery l am looking into, l have no choice.. I have large fyboids attatched to my uterus, they can remove them but a good chance they will return. The only way to stop this is to have a hysterectomy, and belive you me if you suffered the pain l do you would be grateful for anything on offer.

This procedure means recovery time is shorter, and less complications than the stomach cut type All they do is cut your vagina at the top. pull the bits out sew you back up. no problem.

@CherylXFactor I feel your pain I too have a fibroids and been dealing it it over 7 years and the pain has just gotten worse. I also have the begin stages of adenomyosis. Finally found someone who will listen to me and sees and understands the pain I have been in for 7 years. This comming frieday is hopefully the day of relief I have been looking for. Also if you have fibroid they can and do cause lower back problems. and can make you look 5 months pregant.
