  • i cant wait for my xoom! i dont care how old it is! XD

  • When will you do a Motorola Xoom 2 review? I've seen other reviews & it seems the Xoom 2 us an improvement on the first one. It would be helpful to have a review by Mobile Tech because I find they are the most in depth & professional.

  • @sigthor1945 We've done reviews of the XYBoard 10.1 and 8.2 on Verizon which are the Xoom 2 with 3G. The Xoom 2 in the US only has WiFi but no 3G. Other than that they are the same. Search our reviews on our channel page.

  • I love you guys. Seriously, some of the best complete reviews out there.

  • @205up90down Thanks! :) Please share our reviews. :)

  • You make the best reviews ever!

  • @SiKRE4PER Thanks!

  • This is the best comprehensive teck review I have ever seen.

  • @tlcem075 Thank you!

  • I need help choosing a tablet.. Its either the Toshiba thrive, asus transformer prime or the Motorola xoom..I don't like the transformer cause it has no usb hardware on the sides, but I do like it because of its ips display..I like the Toshiba also and the Motorola, im stuck and im new to all of this and I don't know what to get, help?! Which one of them are superior in your opinion?

  • @christiandry123 Also check out our Motorola XYBoard (Xoom 2) review.

  • I can't describe how much I wanted to get an ASUS Transformer Prime...it just can't be found anywhere so I gave up the search and settled for this. I hope it will satiate me.

  • I ordered it last night. I'm very excited for it's arrival! Brilliant review, very helpful and articulate.

  • @Condawgify Congrats! Thanks!

  • @MobileTechReview You're welcome. I was also wondering, this review was almost a year ago. Is there many updates and new tablet apps available since then?

  • @Condawgify Yes, check out the newer videos on our channel. Motorola has released Droid XYBoard 10.1 and 8.2. We have reviews of both.

  • @MobileTechReview Okay, great! Thank you!

  • I hope I get this for Christmas.

  • need your suggestion please .. there's a friend selling this one and another one is a toshiba folio 100...which do you think has the advantage?

  • @shomai08 folio according to my knowledge uses android 2.1

  • heyy Lisa , i love your review and this tablet ,

    i wanna ask you a question ,

    in my country ,

i can get this for 100 bucks with 2 years contract or get a htc flyer for free with 2 years contract .

which one do you suggest ?

  • @11uxie11 They have very different features as far as tablets go. We have both in-depth written reviews on MobileTechReview and video reviews here on both tablets. Be sure to check them out. Hopeful the info we provided in these can help you decide.

  • Whats better: This or the Thrive?

  • Undoubtedly, many thanks

    really helped me a lot

  • @Tayloreletronic Sure thing! Please let us know how you like it, and don't forget to share our reviews with friends. Thanks! :)

  • After the demonstration I'll buy for sure

  • hey lisa...i have been watchin all the android tablet videos you uploaded...thanks for sharing them with us....

now when i took the pros and cons for all the tablets(also from ur website), none stood out from others...i am college student...just want little more mobility in class and for entertainment...which android tablet you would recommend for less than 400?

  • my android tablet = always in landscape view

  • Does the front face camera work with SKYPE?

  • Oh and sorry about the second comment in a row, 3.) Does it have a USB port built-in? (Again, sorry for making 2 comments in a row, but I forgot what the third question was.)

  • Hello, Lisa, I got a couple of questions for you. 1.) Can I use a keyboard and mouse with one of those? 2.) How do you buy all of that technology? You have so much! Where do you possibly get that kind of cash?

  • Just got my Xoom yesterday. I was contemplating for a week on whether i should get it, or the iPad. Then someone summed it up for me. They said 'If you care about looks, go for the iPad. If you care about less restriction, and more power, go for the Xoom'.

  • Honeycomb it's so smooth! Good tablet!

  • I had this 3 days now and its AWSOME

  • Fantastic report! ;) You made my Choise! :))

  • do a review with the update that enables the micro sd card

  • very long reviews but there still really good :)

  • can you store files in it? Like .doc/.ppt etc?

  • @frogparfait29 Yes, most all of these mobile Office apps can save files to the standard desktop Office formats.

  • Having performed detailed reviews on both the galaxy tab 10.1 and the moto xoom, which would you recommend for a power user? I like rooting my android devices (both support root) and both have very similar hardware and software...so which one would you recommend?

  • @AbsolutZeroGI1 They are both on par for power users.

  • can u videochat on facebook or tinychat or oovoo

  • ....Part3- Here's another point: Computer "users" probably outnumber computer "experts" by at least 1000 to 1. Look at Android Tablet Sales. Ipad is outselling Android tabs by at least 1000 to 1. One could say that the "experts" are the ones smart enough to buy Android Tablets. But if you divide that 1 out of 1000 by 6-8 vendors, that's not enough sales to make it. At some point the vendors have to "get it" and stop listening to "experts", and build something for the masses as Apple did.

  • ....had to be corrupted to save us. Understand? It's always been our dream to have user friendly computers, but the subculture around "configuring" the PC had to justify its future position regardless that the "user friendly dream" was closer. The experts need to kill user friendliness to "save" us so only THEY can give that to us with their "configuration" talent. Damn perverse if you ask me.

  • This video is only missing the major characteristics of Xoom with Android 3.0: instability and a total lack of updates from Motorola on emerging countries. I've just bought mine exactly 1 week ago and i'm returning it.

  • @MCARTHURIAM 1) No. 2) Yes.

  • continued--

...iPad has started. A future of portable computing where the "computer nerd" is irrelevant and so is his "mine is bigger than yours" mentality. Look at all the kids doing vids as if their youth and knowledge of a few buzzwords is all they need to be computer "wizards". That will become obsolete. Comparing technical jargon like ports, screens, slots, will be irrelevant. It's about the mass of humanity holding something in their hand, and just doing shit. No Nerd needed.

  • Tablets will be the death of the pc :-( But i can't stop loving tablets. I'm conflicted

  • The color is terrible

  • Dear Lisa, that was a thorough review as always. You have a good voice for this type of thing. Have you ever done broadcasting before? You sound comfortable in this field. Thanks. Your reviews are usually informative and thorough.

  • @Tryit22 Thank you! Glad you enjoy it! Share our videos and channel with friends and family.

  • Does the peripheral casing affect the Wifi connection?

  • @imDan11l We've been using the Motorola case for the Xoom, it doesn't affect the WiFi connection.

  • Can you review everything Lisa! lol, great job. From the review I would think this can play live streaming videos just fine from Ustream correct?

  • @BigCatsWildlife Yes, it streams Ustream smoothly.

  • Played with one at staples today and it was really nice. Would love to have a xoom and my atrix.

  • This is what I call can a Gadget Review

  • This is a very good tablet, but I have come to the conclusion there is no market for tablet computers. There is an iPad computer market, and that's about it. I think Apple created a market for its product and I bet nobody else will make much money from that market.

  • @TheJasperkitty Care to explain your conslusion? I believe ipad buyers are largely iphone owners so in the same sense, android phone owners will be interested in android tablets. How can you not see a market there?

  • @senistardogs No problem explaining. There has never been a decent tablet PC market. I believe there still is not a tablet PC market which is why the Android tablets aren't selling very well. As detractors were quick to point out, the iPad is NOT a good tablet PC which is precisely why it is selling so well. iPad defined a new market that the Android tablet PCs are not hitting.

  • @TheJasperkitty Im not sure if i agree with you. The future is about portability and net access on the go with (3G/4G), these tablets are the first step in that direction which will eventually end up with fully touch optimized laptops and PC monitors. Android tabs are having a slow start but it was the same with their phones. Just look at all the manufacturers rushing their tablets to the market now (toshiba, lenovo, LG etc.). There must be a reason for that.

  • @senistardogs You have a well reasoned response. I just disagree, and right now the sale of PC tablets seem to indicate I am right. Here's the thing... The future can be "portable" without PC Tablets. What I mean is that people seem to be defining the future without a PC tablet in it. No mem slots, no usb ports, no PC type crap. People, regular people, are defining a future with portable computing, but NOTHING like the PC as we know it, which is what I think the iPad has started.

  • @TheJasperkitty OK, i see what your getting at but it all comes down to defining what a tablet PC is. We could just asses that the ipad and the standard it has set doesnt have a whole lot to do with a term ''PC'' as we know it. That said, a andoid tab like the transformer makes the gap between a regular laptop and a tablet pretty narrow and there is no reason to say it wont get even closer between the 2 as tablets evolve. So yea, tablets are not PCs but that doesnt mean they are not the future.

  • @senistardogs Yes, iPad is not a portable PC. But as long as Android Tablets are marketed using PC features as their "iPad killer" features, people will see them as little flat PCs, requiring help to set up, having virus issues, and having to have "experts". Here's an eye opener: The iPad which requires no futzing in order to work was received by the experts as "controlled", and had to be liberated by rooting and jailbreaking. Finally a machine that just worked had to be corrupted to save us.

  • woah i was not expecting that hair.

  • You always do very informative and thorough reviews, Lisa. Keep up the good work! Can't wait to get a Honeycomb tablet when I can afford one.

  • Very good review and very informative. Keep up the good work!

  • does this support pdf and word docs?

  • Wow! Best Xoom review out there!!! Unbiased, smooth and soothing voice, and very detailed. Excellent stuff.

  • Very good review. Thanks!

  • Please reply on the word doc question.

  • I want one of these........ can you give me one?

  • Hey lisa. im a very big fan of yours and i would really loke to know something or everything about the expensive Vertu Constellation and all about those expensive phones, im looking forward for that review.

    Thanks.

    Yilver N Cortes

  • I'm debating on getting a laptop or the Xoom and was wondering if the Xoom has the capability to create and edit word docs and spreadsheets? Also, can you attach these docs and spreadsheets to an email?

  • Just a question but would it be easier to point the camera down and put your devices on a table?

  • play mkv video format??????

  • as always, great review and lovely voice.

  • In the phone world which brand of phone would be better between samsung and motorola?

  • An excellent in-depth review, I had my own delivered today.

  • try to get a look on ASUS Eee Pad Transformer..it seem to be better than this.hehheh

  • XOOM in 3 months is just about to reach 1/2 of the iPad2s sold THE FIRST DAY. And Apple? 4.3 MILLION sold in 3 months. XOOM = DOOMED.

  • wow this is some sick stuff

  • Lisa, Thanks for another GREAT review!

  • motorola should pay you because you just knocked me off the fence

  • Wow I thought its little laggy, interface feels so smooth and polished now. I like it. :)

  • Great review

  • awesome review! Just curious, of all the xoom reviews I've seen there hasn't been any facebook apps used. Is there no facebook app for honeycomb? Or is the froyo one not compatible?

  • I don't like Pulse, too complicated

  • that YouTube player was God-like!!

  • Comment removed

  • you know what I like about your review? You don't compare it with other tablets and talk about whats missing in this. You talk only about the good and bad things about the tablet in hand and I appreciate that.

  • @mytuberaibman yea and even when she does compare tablets its probably the only unbiased review

  • Honeycomb is gorgeous, and incredible smooth!

  • Fantastic Review. Thanks for your time and effort.

  • I pad killer!

  • hey my moms name is Lisa :D

  • @RickyJamesPivotVids so are the names of about 5 million+ other people, do you want a cookie?

  • @th3m8ngtree yes could you send me one :D

  • Best review!

  • best reviewer.....for years ive been reading and watching your reviews

  • Complete review, thank you

  • honeycomb looks amazing

  • Holy jolly turd germs batman! It's a Motorola XOOOOOOOOOOM!!

  • looks like its really really responsive

  • Хороший коментарий. Полностью показали функциональные возможности.

  • This is by far the best reviewer online. Lisa you rock and you know who to review things very well. Great review once again.

  • Lisa, that was an excellent review. Thank you!!

  • It s a good video review. One thing though that you missed and its a very very important aspect of the device. How long is battery life? How is the battery life on 3g ? How is it during video gaming, movies, gaming and movies moderate to heavy use etc???

  • Lisa is unveil!! Great reviewer

  • Nice review. Only thing when you were web browsing, you never zoom in because you said it has a nice screen. But why not show how smooth zoom is?

Also which device is smoother in web browsing in your opinion? iPad or Xoom? I am waiting for this Wednesday for iPad2 reveal and see what apple has in store to battle Android tablets, if I do not see what I like, any other devices in near future to come out that supposedly should be very nice as well as the Xoom?

  • can you please post a video of the xoom running only third party applications

  • i wish lisa was my mom

  • How does slingplayer run on it?

  • Great review.

  • fuckin like

  • Great review, but I have to ask...what's the point of uploading to 1080p if it's only 480p quality?

  • If anyone wants all the honeycomb wallpapers, download the honeycomb wallpaper app from the market. If you wanna get more detailed, dl adw and the adw honeycomb theme.

  • You forgot to mention battery life. :(

Very good review though, Very helpful.

  • 599.99 with contract 799.99 without contract. I paid the 800.00. Its worth every penny.

  • i was wondering what is the price, does anybody know?

  • Gaddafi makes headlines.

    What a nutcase!

  • nice review thanks!

  • The xoom looks good but i'm gonna wait for some of the other tablets to come out later in the year before I get one.

  • Lisa,I like you :)

  • I love how her reviews are so unbiased. She does a great job, and clearly just wants the reviews to be informative

  • Great review Lisa! Will you be doing a review to compare the Xoom against the Ipad?

  • @DigitalDestined In term of spec, Xoom beats iPad in almost every category. I'm talking twice the speed, 4 times the memory, better browser, customization, better Google map w/ voice navigation, camera, mini usb, HDMI video output, upgradable to 4G etc.

  • you rock! Great review! I cant wait to get this thing!

  • I love android tablets! It definately brings out the "nerd" in me! Haha nice review lisa!

  • Lisa,

The ultimate question. in your pure opinion would you purchase this product over the IPAD 2 assuming that the IPAD 2 isn't going to have as good as specs and not a significant upgrade is the IOS. I am either going to buy the IPAD 2 or the Xoom w/o 3g. My biggest concern with the Xoom is the lack of apps and the possible bugs in the Honeycome

  • @magicsmac The point of her unbiased review was to provide the viewer with an informative overview of the product so the consumer can make their own personal decision. I think she did that quite well. In "my" opinion the Xoom is much better than the iPad in terms of the OS design and browsing experience, but of course, it will lack in the apps department. It is impossible to compare it to the iPad 2 since it is not even out yet.

  • "Very large birds, on a ten inch display" Lol classic.

  • thanks for this nice review, but one request.

can you tone down the effects, when changing between cuts, since sometimes i'm not sure if its and android effect, or you just cut two scenes together and used some "weird" transition effect.

  • this tablet is awesome, moto cmon throw the wifi only model

  • wish i was rich

  • Hey! That's me! :D

    10:30 onwards - BOOM!

  • That was by far the review I've seen...now I just have to hit the subscribe button so I will now be watching all of your reviews. =)

  • Very great review, you are soooooo awesome with the reviews. Can't wait to get mine.

  • Good to hear/look new tablet competitor joining the battle. Let's see who can survive longest in this battle. Another version of mp3 player war.

  • *drool* I just hope the price drops soon... $600 is just to much for me

  • You are simply just an amazing reviewer. By far my favorite on youtube!!

  • By far your best look/review of a product

  • Best review yet.

  • Great review. I am impressed with what I've seen with this tablet, but it's going to make it difficult to judge what to buy now as Ipad 2 is just around the corner. I already seem to have some sort of "tablet research OCD" When the market floods with them as it will this year, the choice will become more difficult.

  • As always an awesome review :-)

    Thank you so much Lisa!

  • A very interesting tablet.

  • Excellent and very informative Review. Thanks God I didnt buy the iPad.

  • @zorkor i deffinately like this tablet but idk in my opinion the interface could have been done different idk it just seems very weird and not that attractive

  • Great review

  • i cannot help saying that ipad seems a bit smoother in terms of changing transitions or browsing the web. How's that?

  • @LubomirDohnal Probably a result of software being better optimized for the ipad as Apple build the hardware and make the software. I think the Honeycomb Android OS looks very promising though and it is great to finally have a serious ipad alternative hit the market. Of course next week ipad 2 will be announced so it will be interesting to see what Apple have up their sleeve.

  • This is a very nice device but the fact that it was somewhat rushed to market with several issues I would not recommend purchasing until the issues are fixed. WHat issues? No 4G without shipping it back to Motorola in approx 90 days, no SD card reader until a software update are the two main ones. Hopefully they will start to ship with all this working soon.

  • Comment removed

  • @davva360 You dont have to ship it anywhere for 4G. There is a slot at the top where the card for 4G can be inserted and it will activate 4G. just take it to the verizon store when 4g is out and you want to upgrade. Simpel as that. This is not an issue. Also it has micro sd card. Please watch review carefully.

  • @SyphonFilterr If you read the tech blogs Verizon and Motorola have confirmed that the current models are not 4G ready. To enable 4G you have to return the tablet to Motorola (who are in fairness paying all shipping costs) and they will upgrade the device for you. Expected turnaround is 6 business days. This has been all over Engadget, BGR and the other tech sites for the last few days. Yes the SIM slot is there but only works for 3G until you return for the upgrade. Thanks.

  • @SyphonFilterr TO correct my comment the sim card is not used for 3G, the slot is there so you can access the SD card which is in the same place but read the tech blogs. 4G does not work on this device without a physical upgrade by Motorola. When all the issues are fixed, including some software glitches (CNET and Engadget) this will be a great alternative to the ipad. I just would not buy until I see that Motorola follow through because this is not a cheap device.

  • One of the most comprehensive tech review I've ever seen. Just wish you ran a benchmark app.

  • Whoa! Amazing review. Put the others on shame. Congrats.

  • This is a great review. You touched on the main points that a typical consumer would focus on. The device looks like a good one.

  • Lisa, you covered so much, just your review alone justed pushed me to want the Xoom even more. thanks. I hope you review the ipad 2 when it comes out, and compare. love your voice, and I see you have no rings ,,, what's up . Jr ;-) <3
