  • Wow that is great, I have been going light weight and trekking further out with 12 days of food and was looking for and easier way to carry a tank for a while, but I think I might try just putting some high temp on it and giving that a go. Thanks for the video I love modifying stuff and making them multifunctional.

    Good Stuff

  • Good idea, thanks for the video!

  • Nifty mod but have you thought about what would happen if you slipped and fell on your backback on the side where your jetboil is packed? your added handle will for sure puncture the extra butane can. Cool idea but see if you can make it safer. my .2

  • how fucking dumb ! wow im not even gonna waste my time saying why

  • @ tatertotninja302 thanks for your input. Why even waste your time to post a message saying you aren't goona waste your time? Thanks for wasting both our time. Happy camping!

  • @tatertotninja302 Another worthless troll.

  • @tatertotninja302 Why would you say that? Dude make a mod that basically doubles the usefulness of the stove without taking up any more space. Oh wait I know why you said it... because you are a troll. And a dick.

  • With all due respect, on a long trip, couldn't one just carry the extra can in their pack? One wouldn't use two at once, so when I cook I'd not even have to fool with the 2nd canister/wire lid every time I cook. Plus, as you mention the extra 1" in the flux end, there's always small things (salt pepper cooking oil, etc.) to put in the big end and still put on the plastic lid.

  • I can't post the link to the video but if you search in the box above "jet boil meets" the first video that comes up will show you how it fits in. Sorry I couldn't use proper names in this response because this site (which I can't even type the name of, without having error messages) wont allow it. Crazy. Hope this helps.

  • Good ideas, matches, soap, Have you seen the 12x5 Maxpedition bottle holder? I think there is plenty of extra room in it for the extra canister including a little pocket in front for instant coffee, sugar, etc. Just a thought.

  • Great idea. thanks for sharing your mod

  • Try putting the first gas canister in upside down with the tri-pod fitted around the black gas valve protector. The valve cover and plastic tri-pod will protect the bottom of your cook pot vise the metal ring that can wear and or corrode over time. Might even give a little bit of room you you decide to pack the pan adapter in the future.

BTW - I like the mod and look forward to more. I have one in the works but still need to have parts spun up and test fitted.

  • Awesome little mod. Cheers!

  • sweet!!

  • great video, I like your idea.

  • I think your idea was a great way to mod the extra canister and for rattling etc... Very simple and easy to make -- I like it -- although the video was a bit dark on my old monitor but that may be my problem

  • Great idea! Have you tried using the wire handle to suspend the Jetboil whilst in use? I see that there is an optional hanging kit available but this is obviously a cheaper than the $29.95 that they are asking for it.
