"In the early 1930s sisters Luise, Maxine and Alyce formed a vocal trio along the lines of their idols, the Boswell Sisters, and traveled to San Francisco to audition for radio station KGO (to replace the Boswell Sisters themselves, who were leaving the station)."
In 1952,The Four Freshmen released their first hit single "It's a Blue World"
Those girls were singing before the Four Freshmen came along.
Just from a musical standpoint, this is marvelous....the harmonies woven like a tapestry....but add to it the nostalgia factor....the setting, and style, and it is above and beyond....stupendous!
Thanks for not desecrating this music by actually making a "mashup" out of it! This is a 'medley', for you younger people. Anyway, FANTASTIC! Loved it.
Could be the best thing I've ever heard on YouTube! The King Sisters were the absolute best. No one else could touch them. Man, I love these videos! Thank you, and yes, please keep 'em coming!
Wow ....what incredible harmony the King Sisters had. No matter how many times I hear them, I am just so amazed. Keep the videos coming. I'm loving it!
this is such a beautiful example of the wondrous 4 part harmony these girls created.
And noone can come close to singing like Alyce did. I'm only sorry that I was so young when they were around. Thanks for putting these out there .
