Can anyone identify the one that looks just like this with only 3 knobs? It is a Jackson Star model....I am trying to identify the one I am looking at buying for $550 Canadian. It also has shark fin inlays. I found one that looks just like the one I want to get but it has a gold plate on it so I am guessing it is a different model.
@corpralkirsch yeah their much bigger, I used to own 2 concordes... the 92 ltd and the relic concorde. sold em though - not as good as one may think. If u ever get one though get the 1992 model. It plays ALOT better then the relic'd version
@TigertailzBezerk yeah, im actually building one, im just a dishwasher so its a bit pricey for me, id hace too save up for almost two years to buy one
They need to just put the Concorde in production for normal folks, still leave the limited run overpriced exact replica relic for the rich collectors. Then everyones happy.
@kevenharbour Yea. I'm gonna buy a Jackson RR copy and put on the pinstripes on it and paint the hardware gold. Then put duck tape on the back, switch the PU selector on the side of the body. \m/
It's a 1992 limited reissue of the first Randy Rhoads model that Jackson made for him. The second prototype was the model we all know as Jackson Rhoads but the original version had shorter wings and lots of other differences as well.
@ryan4951 A little over 2k euro. I sold it for the same price. This is from the original 92 series not one of the new reissues which for some reason are priced really high. I can't understand paying 10k for a limited edition when you can get 3 unique custom orders to your own specs for that price.
Reason is, unfortunately the 92 run wasn't very accurate. For instance, no Floyd Rose on Randys guitar. But that's obviously not the only thing. Also, the new run was EXTREMELY limited. And the price is actually Randys birthday, $12,619.65, December 6, 1965.
@axegrinder87 That was my point. The price is all hype - it's still like any other CS Jackson. They always leave room for improvement on the specs so they can do a more accurate, more limited and more expensive run later. It's business. 92 run had both FR and vintage trem version but overall they were far from accurate. The reliced ones are the most accurate I've seen. Nice guitars all of them. :)
@2ndperspective yeah as he said limited edition but they have now released a recreation of the actual one randy played it has been properly reliced ect check it out at the jackson website the price is high but deff worth it if you can afford
dude, why not make one :D i love these guitars to but instead of giving fuking 5 grand to Jackson im going to make one myself over the holidays for 1,200 :P
Hey dude, i have the same guitar. I have problems with my saddles slipping and the holes strip out when i try to tighten the screws. I think it's the licensed Floyd Rose instead of a Genuine Floyd Rose. I own two other guitars with a Genuine Floyd Rose and i dont have this problem with them. I use 11-49 strings at 1/2 step tuning.
That's a common problem with Jackson/Schaller JT590 bridge. The base plate is softer material than on an original Floyd Rose. I usually buy longer screws if the holes are stripped and just try and be careful of never overtightening. One friend who owns a LTD RR had to change the baseplate to a new Schaller.
does that model rhoads have a floyd on it?? i thought that model comes with a regular tremolo like the fender style trems. little bit confused. otherwise awesome guitar and awesome cover. 5 stars.
Thanks! The original 1992 limited run included both versions. Circa 75 percent of them came with Schaller FR like this one and the rest with vintage trem.
Thanks! Usually Randy is right on top with the other guitar track but on this it's hard to tell what's going on. I guess that's why it wasn't covered on YouTube yet or at least I didn't see a version.

@corpralkirsch They are indeed expensive, Way too over priced in my opinion. Building one is a good route to go - good luck with your project

@RR0849 I agree. To be honest, I think there's only one I want. And that's Randys :P
Shame he died before the 3rd prototype came about, with Grover Jacksons new ball bearing based Floyd Rose killer :(
Nice playing by the way.
