There would be one in my future if there was a body kit. I can handle all other costruction but refuse to work foam and fiberglass..I know my limitations.
Is there a turnkey? If so does it have a more refined body (ie less of the garage assembled looking rear-end and interior)? I would love something like this but I also don't want it to look like it was knocked together with MDF.
Anyone who's familiar with my work will know that I've always operated outside mainstream automotive thinking. And none of these ideas are the ultimate solution. In my book, I go father out on the limb & suggest that unbridled personal mobility (end of Chapter Two) could itself become outmoded. Why waste time and energy transporting your body when it's your mind that produces the most meaningful results. And your mental presence can be transported over the Internet almost for free.
So, when the engine is out of fuel and electricity, I assume you plug it in somewhere to charge it like most electric cars. So where exactly does the electricity from the plugs come from? OH YEAH! Large Industrious factories! So what problem does this solve exactly? Nothing. It burns diesel AND requires yet more fossil fuels for power.
@Jakezxz1 When the engine uses all the fuel onboard, then you buy more fuel. And when the batteries run down you recharge them efficiently from a wall plug. But the vehicle will drive on diesel power alone. Electrical energy comes from a variety of sources, depending on the country. Vehicles like the XR3 could significantly reduce oil dependence & CO2. But let's hear your ideas on solutions. Power system technologies are still in their infancy, and social and mindset ideas are valid too.
@ito934@Jakezxz1 It solves TRAFFIC problems! I live in a city were traffic is SO heavy! and we are so stupid to not realize that most people go alone driving a FIVE passengers "giant" car. I Found this car while searching for a "personal vehicle" (1 passanger). That way there would be way more space to drive and traffic would be over. Personal cars should be used in cities with traffic problems, and if you go alone driving a 5 persons car you should be fined and that's it, traffic is over.
Thanks for your comments. We're working on being able to supply kits and even finished vehicles. If you're interesting is being on a list for contact as information becomes available, please send your email address to rqriley@rqriley.com and request being put on a list for followup information. Simply state whether you are interested in a kit or a completed vehicle.
It just goes to show you that sometimes the so-called 'garage inventor' can come up with an idea that the larger auto companies will sometimes overlook. Myself, I still have my original Tri-Magnum plans, and might end up setting up a drive system like this machine!
megadeth is right, while the door opening the way it does is kinda interesting your entire interior is gonna get a good soaking in a rainstorm. and while the technical aspect is neat i think the front end is homely. still an impressive feat though.
im thinking of buying this.. with a redesigned chassis (roll cage and normal doors)... would hate to have to drive this in the rain to open that door to get in.... and its registered as a car... any artistic people willing to help design a front end that doesnt look like garbage? maybe a front spoiler/splitter or a grill atleast?
@ MrRiceCollazo Imagine advanced computers in cars being able to override steering wheel comands and getting out of the way of this crazy drunk driver......
If anyone is working on this as a project, let me know. These cars could really help our future! These cars should be mass produced, and much improved from its base specification.

Looks good except for the hideously ugly engine cover on the front. Reminds me of an elephant seal's nose.
