In this timeof angry politics and dreadful economics, New York's Museum of Modern Art has rediscovered the Depression-era works of Diego Rivera in an exhibit opening Sunday. It casts him as a brilliant radical, the artist who masterfully captures a deeply divided society.
i feel so proud about Diego Rivera, he was Mexican, i went to an exposition about his paintings at the Rufino Tamayo Museum, close to 1984, i felt in love with his painting, if you have someday the chance to see them, don't loose the oportunity...
I read in a book somewhere that success corrupts an artist and stifles his creativity. If an artist sells something, he usually repeats himself so he can sell another painting..check out how often he uses flowers in his paintings. Frida's paintings are similar.
Viva Mexico!!!besos desde Bs As

elzammi1 11 months ago
@elzammi1

Just cause he was Mexican does not make him someone admirable!
Im Mexican (Born in Matamoros)
and I dont like him.
I dont like his style of paining,
I think he is racist because he always depicts white people as evil in his paintings,
He was also a Socialist conspiring against our country so the U.S.S.R could do what it did to Cuba!

Art so beautiful that caused so many problems during the war. So sad not many people can admire how art it is supposed to truly be.
