A small number of people have grown shockingly rich, and they will spend the rest of their lives in a luxury beyond the wildest imaginings of most of us.
As for what happens to society as a whole, and what their orgy of greed will bequeath to the future, they really don't give a $#!+.
Having the government steal more money from rich people isn't the only way that we can afford to cut taxes on poor people. We could, for example, cut spending on things like the drug war or the War of terror.

The fact that conservatives can't come up with this evidence speaks volumes!
