@TheThongnagawa I lived in Xinyang South Hunan China in 2006 and then 2009-2010 for a year. South Hunan providance is one of the poorer places in China, how in the hell are you trying to tell me there is no proper housing or enough food. In the Great U.S.A. we have the same things as in China.

yeah, it really was... i felt so priviliged to be apart of probably the best olympics there will ever be for awhile... i live in London now and its just going to be a nightmare here!! but yeah, met so many wonderfull people and just generally had the time of my life... this song just strikes a nerve with me... the memories are priceless, I honestly cant put it into words what the whole experiance was like.. was just, yeah... something else, something that London will not be able to recreate
i was at the beijing olympic games and can't help but get rather emotional when i hear this. really brings back memories of a truly gargantuan and unforgettable event.
after the closing ceremony, chinese tv cut to a black screen for a couple of moments and then put on this song. everybody was humming it all night.
China's not really all that communist if you pay attention to it. >.> Don't always rely on what people say and actually either research it or visit it like I did. The only think that might be related to communism that I saw was that they didn't take tips at restaurants. Everything else was fine.

Actually, a lot of people in China wanted other songs to be chosen as the song played after events.
At least 80% of the people I spoke with.
They said it was too mellow.
I have to agree, "Beijing Welcomes You" and "Forever Friends" are better, in my and many others' opinion.

I'll bet you will remember it for the rest of your life - I watched from home and still have many, many great memories. I don't know if it will ever be equalled. Everythin I saw and heard showed how warm and friendly the people were - true olympic spirit.......

yeah, it really was... i felt so priviliged to be apart of probably the best olympics there will ever be for awhile... i live in London now and its just going to be a nightmare here!! but yeah, met so many wonderfull people and just generally had the time of my life... this song just strikes a nerve with me... the memories are priceless, I honestly cant put it into words what the whole experiance was like.. was just, yeah... something else, something that London will not be able to recreate

i was at the beijing olympic games and can't help but get rather emotional when i hear this. really brings back memories of a truly gargantuan and unforgettable event.
after the closing ceremony, chinese tv cut to a black screen for a couple of moments and then put on this song. everybody was humming it all night.

China's not really all that communist if you pay attention to it. >.> Don't always rely on what people say and actually either research it or visit it like I did. The only think that might be related to communism that I saw was that they didn't take tips at restaurants. Everything else was fine.
BTW, this song is great. Really touching and relieving.

instead of "You and me".
"Embrace the Dream of Love" is much better but so sad that it is not used finally because of the copyright issue.

went to see the olympics last year...it was awesome, didnt expect china to do such a great job.
i know china is still not that open compare to the other first world country, but that doesnt mean we should be bitching about how bad and backwards on democracy china is, and ignoring the efforts the chinese had put together to make this olympics so successful ever.

Also for the people who are ranting against the chinese goverment and criticizing the chinese people, you obviously are misinformed. The chinese government does its best to take care of its people. With 1.4 billion people to support i believe they are doing an outstanding job. Also i don't see the chinese government invading other countries saying that invading you will make my country safer. This song is to unite the world. Which it has during the Olympics but the world should be always united.

yeah man, i mean no matter what the hype becomes or new technologies, I don't think anyone else will ever be able to match that extreme organization and coordination of movements and such that the Chinese were able to do in the ceremonies numerous times. That's a gold-medal event all the way.

this song uses a traditonal Chinese pentatonic scale(meaning only 5 notes are used). Ya, the melody simply repeats, but that's bcuz it only uses FIVE NOTES!!! this song is awesome!!!

this comment is toward zingostar, the people of tibet are happy. They are as free as any state in the us. The chinese goverment supports their goverment and their people. The only reason many people like you think this way is due to propaganda from the Dahlia lama. He was exiled for a reason going against the state.
