  • This movie was insane and disturbing. I loved it lol

  • this was flagged by Morons

  • or what are those movies at the beggining

  • what are those 2 movies at the beggining

  • Actually, there's only one chainsaw death, Franklin. Everybody else was killed by the sledgehammer or something else.

  • @MetalKnuckles509 1 with chain saw one buy a truck one got hanged on a hook and on by a hammer

  • @1337wuzty1337 Actually, 2 sledgehammer deaths.

  • @MetalKnuckles509 really ? i only rememberd one

  • @1337wuzty1337 Yeah, there's Kirk and Jerry. Although Jerry dies right away and Kirk... suffers for a while.

  • @MetalKnuckles509 Uh... no.

  • Fun fact. the guy that plays the roll as Leather Face, was using a real Chainsaw all the time. ;)

  • Maybe it was flagged because the movie is such a boring, god awful, and tedious movie that relies too much on jump scares.

  • @eareimaj It's a 70s slasher movie, what do you expect, the next Citizen Kane?

  • @eareimaj boring..God awful and really relies on jump scares ?? wow u dont know what ur even saying this master piece has scared millions of people it doesnt need buckets of blood and brutal kills to make it scary it is scary because of how gritty and raw it and god awful ooh really this film has a cult following and lots of fans and is one of the best known horror films in history and its hardly boring !!

  • @Halloween661 dont write a fucking book man and dont make fun of this pro ass movie

  • Oddly enough that this film was banned in many countries when it came out. Nowadays the ban been lifted in most countries, I think.

  • Happy birthday Tobe Hooper! Today, January 25th is his birthday!

  • I just watched the movie and, man, it is disturbing!

  • whats the movie in the begining with all the chainsaw kills ?

  • 0:18 Nightwolf from Mortal Kombat!!!!!

  • Whoever flagged this video is a pussy!

  • Wait, so this review is age restricted but the exorcist wasn't? Youtube, you done fucked up.

  • @filon810 the moive with the kid holding the axe is called pieces

  • this was flagged for having a man hit with a hammer?

  • what's the movie from 0:24 that with the kid

  • Comment removed

  • Ed Gein wasn't a serial killer

  • yeah i can see how this is based off of ed gein's murders, ed had some furniture and clothing made from the remains of people who he either killed or robbed from their graves. he also had a strong relationship with his mother.

  • Wow, people still comment here? I thought this was a dead video...

  • Why is this flagged???

  • 1:45, I'll take it

  • Watched this in my film class and I just kept thinking of how AVGN would break it down

  • @rfwill13 Your teacher lets you watch horror movies? I love your school.

  • @megadethifyify We watched it and Friday the 13th as we learned about Slasher Films. Plus my teacher said that the board of education was supposed to watch all the movies before hand but he never mentions TCM

  • @TheNicklol101 Yes they're ok. And i'm not sure if the killers were caught or not.

  • nothing beats watching james in your dark room at knight

  • I'm convinced that they just can't make'em like this anymore...someone needs to go through the dump and find some of this old film and start making movies with it...but even then I think the feeling would still be lost..theres something about the way the 70's and early 80's looked...I don't know what it is but its fucking magical...perhaps it was just simply a better place in time and I'm constantly feeling that I come from the wrong place in history...

  • @cheznar Two words mate: No Digital.

  • @TheProducerPeople No one wants to take the time to pain stakingly piece together make up and special effects anymore....its sad...I would say that smashing a bag of meat for a head crushing scene for example is better than any bullshit punched into a computer....

  • @cheznar Only film I've seen that can work CGI on a realistic and convincing scale is fight club, apart from that, I agree with ya buddy

  • @TheProducerPeople I wonder how many people lost their jobs for that sacrifice.....

  • @cheznar I am Jack's response.

  • @cheznar And there's a lot more mystery to those srots of effects, they make you wonder "how the hell did they do that?" But nowadays we jsut know that it's all done on a computer

  • @cheznar You are not alone

  • Me and my friends and cousins watched this on my 11th birthday and were scared shitless.

  • GRANDPA=DOPIE FROM FAMILY GUY!

  • @TheNicklol101 I used to live around that area. A friend of mine visited there on Halloween night, i think, and she was almost ran over by an 18-wheeler. And it was meant to kill her

  • But Ed Gein did have skin masks, furnishing made of human parts, but didn't quite kill random people.

  • @IanMartinTV The Prosecution could only pin two murders on him, but he robbed a lot of graves. They also couldn't prove he was a cannibal or a necrophiliac. Additionally, Ed Gein's brother died under mysterious circumstances, but there was no conclusive proof Ed had anything to do with it.

  • @TomMSTie1138 That too, thankyou Tom.

  • @TomMSTie1138 That too, I'm just saying that there are more facts about Ed Gein then he described in the video

  • @IanMartinTV True, but James does try to keep these videos short.

  • that stock sounding narrator is John Larroquette BTW. He was the funny guy on night court. Leatherface 3D comes out 10-5-12 Dan Yeager the new Leatherface is a huge fan of the original and the film is a direct sequel to that, ignoring all the other films. It's gonna be great

  • I have no idea why this is flagged.

  • @Skylar8300 Especially when Exorcist wasn't.

  • @Skylar8300 Probably the beginning parts.

  • @Skylar8300 maybe a child blacked-out because of this video.

  • @Skylar8300 Exactly.

  • @Skylar8300 Two words, one bullshit reason: The title.

  • @Skylar8300 So is the Hellraiser review.

  • As a texan i can say 30 years after this movie came out most people hear in texas still think it was real.

  • sloth and leaterface are a little different because if u watch the texas chainsaw massacre the beginning there is a scene where when leatherface is an infant a man trows him in the dumpster and in the goonis sloth falls and the goonies is a comedy and leatherface is in a true story/horror movie but yeah i feel bad i guess

  • WHAT'S THE MOVIE ON 0:23

  • @DHBBQ i second this question. i wanna see that crazy kid.

  • @DHBBQ

    That movie is called "Peices"

and as the tagline says: "It's exactly what you think it is"

  • Good fucking god! That movie was by far the most disturbing hour and a half of my life and forever will be. Thank god for Tobe Hooper. \\m//

  • Half the movie clips used at the start have been reviewed by the Cinema Snob.

  • Half the movie clips used at the start have been reviewed by the Cinema Snob.

  • hell yeah monster madness 2011 starts tomorrow

  • I dont see why The Texas Chainsaw Massarce is thought to be so good. I am a huge horror fan and slasher is my sub genre of choice, but this movie was pretty awful. The acting is dreadful even by low budget horror levels, the writing is poor and i dont think the character could be anymore one dimentional. There is a scene where a girl falls into a room full of bones, she just looks around for 30 seconds so the camera can show the audience and then starts freaking out. You would eith freak out

  • @beatlesforever997 You would either freak out stright away or stay calm. Then she goes running out the house screaming loud enough to wake the seven sleepers and subsequently gets caught and butchered. Another awful scene is when a boy walks into a room and find the girl in a fridge. When he opens it after she hit it from the inside to alert him. she lays there looking dead and then jumps up, same problem you would only do one or the other not both, and when they are in the lorry.

  • @beatlesforever997 they could of just drove away but they got in and then got out the other side. Why would you do that a chainsaw wielding manic is behide you and you have manage to stop a lorry and get in it, would you then get out the other side stright away? I think not.

  • @beatlesforever997 To be honest, thats only your opinion, and of course your entitled to it.... At the same time, it doesn't necesarily mean your right.

  • @LongDieseldog Of course it is just my opinion and i respect that i am the minority. I am just hoping someone will explain to me what was so good about this film.

  • @beatlesforever997 Well, there'd be no point to that, cause you basiclly indicated in your previous comments that you don't particularly care for this film, so I doubt anyone can convince you to like it.

I'll just give you my opinion. I think it's easy for viewers to poke at things in a movie that they find "Unrealistic" But truthfuly, who would know? Especially with this movie. I don't what the deal was with the fridge, but I'm sure there's some explination behind it.

  • @beatlesforever997 I'm really curious, why do you think the acting is dreadful? Like who in general?

  • @LongDieseldog I surpose that my problem with the acting is more what they do, than how they do it. The acting itself is really no worse than other slasher films from the same time. The character that is disliked the most was probally the first girl to be murdered, the one who gets put on the meathook. Pam i think her name was. When she falls into the room full of bones she stops and stares around making no noise giving the camera a chance to look around and show the audience. (see next comment)

  • @LongDieseldog After about thirty seconds of staring she start retching and making a huge amount of noise, alerting Leatherface to her presence. It seems to me that you would either react sensible and stay calm and quiet and make a hasty yet subtle exit or lose control and start vomiting not both. The scene i disliked the most though was at the very end after Sally escapes. When the truck stops to help her. (see next comment)

  • @LongDieseldog After the truck stops she jumps in and instead of just driving off like i would and i assume you would both her and the truck driver simply get out the other side of the truck. Why would they do that why not just drive off? Leatherface didn't damage a tire with his chainsaw or anything (atleast not that i saw) so why would you get out. Even though i didn't like it much i acknowledge it's place in both film and horror history and recognise it contribusion to cinema.

  • @beatlesforever997 Alright, thanks for responding. Cause I was really interested as to why you made that statement.

I thought the chick who played Sally did well. The guy who played LeatherFace attended a school of the mentally disabled to learn how they interact for the role, and I think it really shows in the movie. I thought he did well at portraying a retarded.

  • chop top plz

  • Am I the only one who genuinely feels bad for Leatherface? I mean, the Old Man just beats him up the whole time and makes him do all this sick shit, it's not really his fault.

  • @Mravocadoman Just like Sloth in the Goonies. :(

  • @Mravocadoman also he's not quite able to do anything about it, cause he's actually retarded

  • @Mravocadoman the whole point to LeatherFace is that he's retarded. I heard that the actor who played him (Gunnar Hansen) is the the one who decided LeatherFace shouldn't talk, and he went to a school of mentally disabled people to study them for the roll.

  • @Mravocadoman Which one, the old man or the OLD man

  • 0:20 Thats Cinema Snob's genre.

  • @2:16 Do a barrel roll!!

  • i kno this is random, but at the title screen of every "Monster Madness" is the moon, showing from the two headed kids, actually put in that movie?

  • One of my favorite horror movies EVER!!!! LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!!

  • Who would of guessed that the hitchhiker would later on do the voice of Lord Zedd in Power Rangers.

  • thats sick but i understand because he was a psycho

  • that very last shot is my favorite part of the movie

  • did it really happened or is it just a story?

  • @thorguy123

It's based on the same guy Psycho was based on. In reality, the guy was making Furniture out of human flesh.

  • My film teacher's favorite movie of all time.

  • I liked the remake better than the original. Then again, it was probably so good because they had the original to go off of. And it had a much higher budget.

  • who flagged this? But who cares anyway. Its up. Forget about it.

  • I'm hoping James would take a look at recent movies this year. With his own opinion on spoofs like Shaun of the Dead, comebacks like Land of the Dead, crappy stinkers like The Unborn and remakes like The Hills Have Eyes. Not to mention the infamous film franchise known as Saw.

  • @TheAdam1995 well hes going from early 1900s all the way up to present time

  • mmm waths the film at 00.20

  • The scene where Leatherface is just standing in the road swinging chainsaw around has always freaked me out and sitll does. It's not even that scary, but it's just weird.

  • @clowdfaceband Because people are having their flesh stripped off and limbs removed by chainsaws?

You don't think anyone might find that distressing?

  • @MoonIMover but that doesnt happen in the whole film :s

  • @rytsurai The film is not what was flagged.

  • why ha this been flagged?

  • @hynesmaster06 i have NO idea

  • one question, in TCM Next Generation, WHY THE FUCK IS LEATHERFACE A TRANSVESTITE!?

  • I remember I would watch this movie every day after school. I was so obsessed with it.

  • i live in texas

  • @Heathereesta look out for leatherface!

  • Ed Gein is NOT a serial killer.just a sick little monkey and a grave robber.he was convicted of one murder and spent the rest of his life in an asylum chillaxing . I actually feel sorry for him,he had a shitty life.

  • @Degenerator1

I did a paper on him for school, and it was actually two murders (I know not a lot more, just thought I'd mention it) And there are three others that he's suspected to have possibly committed (including that of his own brother).

  • motha fucka flagged this dickhead cocksucker

  • Hold on, let me grab my toilet paper so I can clean up the $hit in my pants and my blanket so I can try to hide...

  • @villi1997 How young is your mom?

  • Comment removed

  • 2:14 geez now i know why lether face weres his mask. he is micheal jackson. that was kind of a dance.

  • this is one of the most critically underrated horror films. it to this day still manages to scare the SHIT out of me and despite the title name its not as violent as you would think. the scariest part is how real it all feels. there's no CGI, no big name actresses in make-up, no john williams soundtrack, just macabre, visceral terror. prolly my favorite horror film along with halloween and scream.

  • @OmegaPiggy77 My SECOND FAVORITE horror film of ALL TIME! My FAVORITE horror film of ALL TIME? Ironically enough, PSYCHO!

  • Stuff in this movie could happen, something that didn't happen in it that could have was when the guy at the end is swinging the chainsaw around he cuts himself in half.

  • why was this flagged?

  • i think there's only one actual chainsaw death in the whole film! the rest is atempted chainsaw deaths and sledge hammer deaths.

  • 2:14 Laughed My Ass Off!

  • What is the movie from 0:09 to 0:11? I can't find it.

  • @diolynn Halloween 3 Season Of The Witch

  • This movie's got some major balls

  • I remember listening to the commentary for this movie and the director and actor playing Leatherface (I apoligize Leatherface fans if I can't remember his name) joked about people taking the "based on a true story-" ruse seriously saying "Yeah my friend was a jail warden who knew the guy that did that" or "Or yeah I remember when I was such and such a age when that happened": You can't blame these guys for chuckling at it. XD

  • @sillygrl23 Leatherface was played by Gunnar Hansen.

  • What I'd like to know is from what movies have the clips between 0:22-0:31 been taken from. I've seen them before somewhere before and I've wondered if you can find the movies on dvd somewhere, especially the one where the girl gets mutilated with the chainsaw in the closet. If anyone knows, let me know.

  • @goreombola

The clips that are between 0:22-0:31 are all from the 1982 horror film "Pieces." "Pieces" is a gory and cheezy slasher classic that's worth buying. It's available on DVD and you can find it on Amazon.

  • @mallrats4000 Thanks for the info. o/

  • @goreombola all of them is fron "Pieces"

  • yhjhjfhklhfduiudt cfgtsujtfuyw6e567yt67e65

  • 0:04

That double headed thing, what movie is that from?

BTW, how do you see if a vid is flagged? I just see a flag you press if you think it's offensive

  • @SolidMike84 By some you have too have a acount, too look at this video.

  • @SolidMike84 it's from army of darkness

  • @mortalkomyahoo

    Domo arigato ^^

  • that girls is what you call a real woman she runs through windows fucking windows thats hardcore

  • TRUE meaning of horror...that last chase scene is fuckin horror!!!

  • great quote at the end.

  • The grandpa is the freakiest fucking character to ever enter a movie

  • @PunchingMercury Don't forget Pinhead.

  • @PunchingMercury Are you kidding me ?? this whole movie is the freakiest thing ever made !! ever !!

  • And this was over Braindead because.....?

  • And this was falgged because....? I guess the Braindead review was pretty unflaggable.

  • @Thecrazyboy5 Yeah but VERY loosely.

  • i really like this movie but my brother and mom hates it just because they scream too much...... and i agree they scream alot but apart from that its a really good movie and the remake.......... really sucks

  • @kallemick they scream cause of the tingler...

  • @TheDictator4life its okay if they scream but they overdo it alot

  • Ironically these, the ACTUAL scary horror films, aren't that graphic. Stupid ass soccer moms...

  • were do you see the thing where the retard flagged it, im new to youtube sooo.

  • sissy ass parents! stop flagging shit! your kid is going to see it ANYWAY!

  • probably the weirdest movie I seen 8yrs ago.

  • @ 1:19 Horrible line spacing! Sorry I had to get that out. Anyway, awesome movie.

  • WHOEVER FLAGGED #17,#26 AND #28, MUST WATCH THE VIDEOS THAT HE LIKES WITH A TEXT THAT SAYS ITS INNAPROPRIATE FOR UNDER 18, TO SEE HOW IT FEELS LIKE!

  • reminds me of house of a thousand corpse.......wait a minute?

  • @HellBits971 Except this came out waaay before it and thankfully rob zombie didn't direct it.

  • what do you think of the Australian attempt at this genre: Wolf Creek?

  • I bought the tin box version of this film. This movie is pretty good. I expected a better ending though. I wanted the girl in the end to get hacked to pieces. The remake of TCM was good much gorier.

  • One of the greatest horror films ever made. Sweaty, intense, almost too real for its own good. American horror hasn't been as good as this since.

  • @SleepPersonParty The movie " The Strangers" seems to be inspired by this movie, creepy masks, and very realistic

  • classic
