I still remember my first ever experience with the first strafing level. I was only about 7 or 8 so when I saw those first-aid trucks I thought there'd be nothing more effective against the enemy than blowing up all their medical resources. I was a bit confused when I finished the level and found out I'd be disciplined for it lol

Cineware were the masters of oozing atmosphere from their games. Wings was wonderful. I almost cried when I completed it as - I shit you not - `The Scorpions - Wings of Change` came on the radio at the exact moment the end credits rolled. I had something in both of my eyes at that moment I can tell you. :-\

Marvellous game. Great music. Haunting atmosphere throughout.

This was perhaps my second-favorite Amiga game behind Sid Meier's Pirates. I was so excited when I heard it was coming out for GBA as I was so missing my Amiga! I had a lot of fun with that version. In some ways it was better and in some ways worse. Sux it didn't have all the great music and superior diary. I'd kill for a PS3 version or something similar.. That's if the game companies can get off their WWII-theme every war game nut... I recall having KOTS but it didn't run on my A500 sys...

i remember playing this when i was about 11-12.was great. i managed to live thro to the end in one go.rose to the rank of lt.col.was pretty good when you got to a hight level you could collide with a german aircraft and recover just even to land instead of dying in midair and crashing to your death.prefered the dogfighting to any of the other 2 modes.disliked strafing the trenches the most.another good thing about this game is that it taught yourself a bit of history too.

I spent months of my life playing this. I just wish the computer could have been faster. It was very slow with many planes on the screen.

I remember it was very sad when the other pilots of your squadron died one after the other. After a while only you were left of the old guys.

Wszyscy którzy posiadali komputer AMIGA 500, 600, 1200, 2000, 4000 znają tą grę.

Wings to była gierka!!! Zajmowała dwie dyskietki 3,5 cala, i trzeba było nimi "wachlowac", żeby zagrac. Można było też zainstalowac tą grę na twardym dysku np."Caviar 40 MB" i wtedy nie trzeba było zmieniac dyskietek.

this was one of my fav games for the amiga 500 the best flight fighter sim i played on the amiga was F-22 or F-15 Falcon both awesome games. then again there was the wing commadore series so many great games hard to choose

Loved this game. I also remember the strafing missions being a pain though - I remember having three really tough missions in a row (two may have been strafing runs and the other was a dogfight against 10 enemy aircraft) and because I had failed the two strafing runs the airforce would have kicked me out if I failed the dogfight (despite being the leading ace of any nationality with over 150 kills! lol). Luckily I got through it.

Awesome game!!! And a such a cool storyline, with the diary you really felt you took part in the war and felt sorry for the characters :) And it was HUGE!

Blimey! This was, like many others here, my favourite game on the Amiga platform!

Stunning graphics, and great gameplay.

Just need to unearth my Amiga and set it up and then I can play this again.

OMG! This was the first game I ever played on my Amiga 500! My father gave me a wargames-pack with the Amiga for my birthday! This is what sent me on my way to become a gamer! :D

All the soundtracks I found for Wings contained the same files in .CIN format (a format used by Cinemaware for just this game), and it can't be played with DeliPlayer. How could we get them playable then? :(

I know I'm being a little picky, but how is the pilot able to shoot two machine guns through the blades of the propellers without completely hitting and destroying them in the process? :P

An interrupter gear. This is a triggering device attached to the machine gun armament of a tractor-type fighter aircraft so that it would fire only at certain times. This allows the gun to fire through the arc of a spinning propeller without the bullets striking the blades
