Um... I believe you guys are mixing up the meaning of "worship." To worship is not about the music or singing, its devoting yourself to God; even praying is worshiping. We shouldn't set a certain time for God and say "We shouldn't worship Him on this day and time because.." We should worship Him all the time because He is Great and because He is God! It does not matter when and where you worship...

I absolutely love my church. Being as I'm a teen, I think they have a great youth program an really enjoy being there. But I also feel I need to be more connected to the church, and read the bible more.

We all know Genesis 2:3 says the reason why the seventh day is the Sabbath day. If you look at Genesis 1:3 "And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light." Likewise, on John 1:9-14 it is stated, Jesus is the true light that gives light to everyone and in his name he gave the right to become children of God. On Matthew 12:8 it says "For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath." On Leviticus 23:10-12 it is told to wave the sheaf is to be waved after the day of Sabbath.

I am a 7th Day Adventist and I believe the day to worship God would be on Saturday. Why? Because In the bible it said "So God bless the 7th day and made it holy. And made it a day to praise him." And I don't see anywhere in the bible that says He, for some reason, changed his mind and changed it to Sunday. To me this logic doesn't make since. :o Really I'm just curious about this.
@Alliooooops Every day we worship God through all we do, say and think. However on Sunday we come together to celebrate and worship together. Christ is our Sabbath and our rest, however physically we were created to enjoy rest one day out of the 7. (here in the US we generally have two days per week)

@chiggyhiggins22 You make a good point. But what did Jesus show us about the sabbath? He loved, ministered, preached and healed people, He did Good on the sabbath. Jesus is my rest, my sabbath. Every day I believe my better way to show that, is to allow Him to work through me to do good. I am thankful that we have recognized that we are created to also need physical rest and I enjoy that by worshipping the Lord with my family in Christ.

The pharisees tried to get down on Jesus for helping people on the day that had been deemed the sabbath and he was the son of God and God who came to show us the way so how could he do wrong? I found one verse i really like on the subject is Colossians 2:16. Therefore, let no one judge you because of what you eat or drink or about the observance of annual holy days, New Moon Festivals, or weekly worship days.
@IHazRhythMIW The sabbath is the day of rest, the day God rested after creating everything. It's not holier than other days, it's just a day God asks not to do anything extraneous and instead on that day put most of your mortal worries behind you remind yourself by the act, that you must make the time to focus on him and give him your all! Also coming together with your whole community to worship is pretty special!

What if God started on Wednesday and rested on Tuesday? Then what? You start your week on Sunday, I start mine on Monday. My point is, read Romans 14, we are not under law, we are under Grace, and follow the spirit of the law, the ten commandments are a standard not a rulebook.
@Alliooooops the reason that most followers of Jesus worship on Sunday is because of the importance of the resurrection which occurred on Sunday. The Christian day of worship is not related to the Jewish concept of Sabbath (although Sabbath is still an important idea and practice). We worship on Sunday because the resurrection is the fundamental reason for our trust and hope in Jesus.

Colossians 2:16-17 Our Sabbath rest is found in Christ. He is the substance that fulfills the symbol of the sabbath. If you want to be slavishly bound to the Mosaic law, then anyone found working on the sabbath must be put to death!

@Alliooooops The current standard calender, I believe, is actually wrong. Sunday *is* the seventh day. Monday is the first day. Then Tuesday, and so on. Saturday and Sunday are called weekENDs for a reason. That's my view.

@Alliooooops Paul says it best in Romans chapter 14, I would suggest reading it all, but he is talking about these very things. Look specifically at verse 5. Just as a thought, if you think that you still follow all the old covenant requirement's, why don't you observe all the feasts, and sacrifice animals for atonement? It really comes down to the fact that I love Jesus, and I will worship him rightly everyday of the week, and it just so happens that I do that corporately on Sunday.
My family and I goes to church every Sunday. The reason that our worship service is every Sunday, which is the first day of the week, it's because we want to give our first day of the week to the Him. Because as Matthew 6:33 said, Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto you.. I think there's nothing wrong worshiping Jesus on a Saturday, or on A Sunday.. The most important thing about Jesus is, you have a personal relationship with Him.

If God exists every day, we need to worship him every day! Yes, we do need to regularly meet with other believers in order to "not neglect meeting with one another" like Paul said but Jesus himself said "Man was not made for the Sabbath, but the Sabbath for man." In the book of Acts, the believers met all the time! They would go to work and take care of their households, but they had "everything in common" and shared their lives with the other believers.

The term 'Son of God' is an ancient near-eastern honorific referring to any good man. It was never used literally & Jesus was not the only person to receive this accolade. I would challenge you to read the books, the case for christ, and the case for faith by Lee Strobel. They take common sense, logical look at evidence for God. You owe it to yourself to at least consider a different argument. I've read a lot about both the atheist argument and christian one. When all the evidence is weighed it takes a lot more faith to count on God not being real. That my opinion after years of struggling with the issues

I have been drifting away further and further away from God but today, this video came onto my youtube screen. Now I am fully attentive to the words. I lift my hands, close my eyes, and cry during some of the songs we sing at church. I am so joyful that God is in my life!! We all know Genesis 2:3 says the reason why the seventh day is the Sabbath day. If you look at Genesis 1:3 "And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light." Likewise, on John 1:9-14 it is stated, Jesus is the true light that gives light to everyone and in his name he gave the right to become children of God. On Matthew 12:8 it says "For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath." On Leviticus 23:10-12 it is told to wave the sheaf is to be waved after the day of Sabbath.

I am a 7th Day Adventist and I believe the day to worship God would be on Saturday. Why? Because In the bible it said "So God bless the 7th day and made it holy. And made it a day to praise him." And I don't see anywhere in the bible that says He, for some reason, changed his mind and changed it to Sunday. To me this logic doesn't make since. :o Really I'm just curious about this.

@Alliooooops Every day we worship God through all we do, say and think. However on Sunday we come together to celebrate and worship together. Christ is our Sabbath and our rest, however physically we were created to enjoy rest one day out of the 7. (here in the US we generally have two days per week)

@chiggyhiggins22 You make a good point. But what did Jesus show us about the sabbath? He loved, ministered, preached and healed people, He did Good on the sabbath. Jesus is my rest, my sabbath. Every day I believe my better way to show that, is to allow Him to work through me to do good. I am thankful that we have recognized that we are created to also need physical rest and I enjoy that by worshipping the Lord with my family in Christ.

The pharisees tried to get down on Jesus for helping people on the day that had been deemed the sabbath and he was the son of God and God who came to show us the way so how could he do wrong? I found one verse i really like on the subject is Colossians 2:16. Therefore, let no one judge you because of what you eat or drink or about the observance of annual holy days, New Moon Festivals, or weekly worship days.

It's not holier than other days, it's just a day God asks not to do anything extraneous and instead on that day put most of your mortal worries behind you remind yourself by the act, that you must make the time to focus on him and give him your all! Also coming together with your whole community to worship is pretty special!

For instance, Acts 20:7 states that “on the first day of the week we came together to break bread.” In 1 Corinthians 16:2 Paul urges the Corinthian believers “on the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income.”

@chiggyhiggins22 Its important to note that the Ten Commandments are not rules, but a standard. My question for you I suppose is, where do you get your calendar from? What if God started on Wednesday and rested on Tuesday? Then what? You start your week on Sunday, I start mine on Monday. My point is, read Romans 14, we are not under law, we are under Grace, and follow the spirit of the law, the ten commandments are a standard not a rulebook.

@Alliooooops the reason that most followers of Jesus worship on Sunday is because of the importance of the resurrection which occurred on Sunday. The Christian day of worship is not related to the Jewish concept of Sabbath (although Sabbath is still an important idea and practice). We worship on Sunday because the resurrection is the fundamental reason for our trust and hope in Jesus.

Colossians 2:16-17 Our Sabbath rest is found in Christ. He is the substance that fulfills the symbol of the sabbath. If you want to be slavishly bound to the Mosaic law, then anyone found working on the sabbath must be put to death!

@Alliooooops The current standard calender, I believe, is actually wrong. Sunday *is* the seventh day. Monday is the first day. Then Tuesday, and so on. Saturday and Sunday are called weekENDs for a reason. That's my view.

1. Jesus rised on Sunday (Mark 16:9, "...the first day of the week...")
2. The disciples met the first day of the week e.g. Sunday. (John 20:19 and Acts 20:7).
You're right, He didn't change it to Sunday himself. But I guess, it doesn't matter which day we worship God. Important is, that we do it (and perhaps not only one day a week...)

@Alliooooops if you read into the old testament, after the death of Christ, all the apostles gathered on the first day of the week, that is where we come from. if you look at anytime they had a meeting or sermon, it always says "on the first day of the week...." we do this, and they did this, because Christ rose on the first day of the week, this is in remembrance of him.

@Alliooooops Paul says it best in Romans chapter 14, I would suggest reading it all, but he is talking about these very things. Look specifically at verse 5. Just as a thought, if you think that you still follow all the old covenant requirement's, why don't you observe all the feasts, and sacrifice animals for atonement? It really comes down to the fact that I love Jesus, and I will worship him rightly everyday of the week, and it just so happens that I do that corporately on Sunday.

My family and I goes to church every Sunday. The reason that our worship service is every Sunday, which is the first day of the week, it's because we want to give our first day of the week to the Him. Because as Matthew 6:33 said, Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto you.. I think there's nothing wrong worshiping Jesus on a Saturday, or on A Sunday.. The most important thing about Jesus is, you have a personal relationship with Him.

If God exists every day, we need to worship him every day! Yes, we do need to regularly meet with other believers in order to "not neglect meeting with one another" like Paul said but Jesus himself said "Man was not made for the Sabbath, but the Sabbath for man." In the book of Acts, the believers met all the time! They would go to work and take care of their households, but they had "everything in common" and shared their lives with the other believers.

The term 'Son of God' is an ancient near-eastern honorific referring to any good man. It was never used literally & Jesus was not the only person to receive this accolade. That illustrates the nature of Christianity and ALL religion: an intoxicating mixture of myth, superstition & bad scholarship pronounced as dogma. I would challenge you to read the books, the case for christ, and the case for faith by Lee Strobel. They take common sense, logical look at evidence for God. You owe it to yourself to at least consider a different argument. I've read a lot about both the atheist argument and christian one. When all the evidence is weighed it takes a lot more faith to count on God not being real. That my opinion after years of struggling with the issues

Now I am fully attentive to the words. I lift my hands, close my eyes, and cry during some of the songs we sing at church. I am so joyful that God is in my life!!
