So they won't hear what's going on around them like people's conversations. 2. To hear the hq music that you get from putting the volume to low and pushing the earbuds in your ears...I tested it and they're right! Higher sound quality and I can hear just the music nothing else! That's what they want. But they can't find a product that does that!

Most earbuds or anything that comes with them would suggest listening only loud enough to where you can still hear a person talking to you, and if outside noise is still bothersome you could get earbuds that are designed to block out the noise. But you should still keep the volume down depending on how long you keep them in for.
