you need a better tune dude.. Do you still have the stock turbo? Even my RC3 setup would pull to 5500 and that was still the stock turbo with just a tune and nozzles.. From the looks of your gauges when you take off you aren't walking away from a GLI.. I still can barely outrun a stock 180hp 1.8T and mine I think I can safely say is faster than yours haha.. I can get from a standstill to 80 in 9 seconds..

edit.. I just looked at your profile and seen the turbo.. it's the same one I have... yea you definitely need a new tune, I'm running that unit up near 30psi... Who tuned the ECU?

Im scared to run it that high cause its my daily I dont wanna blow the turbo I know it will sustain 25 psi all day but I try not to rag on my car...

How much power are u pushing at 30psi

That 17/52 is 100% safe at 28psi sustained.. I was one of the earlier ones to get that turbo and I've been thrashing it for about 20k now. very tough unit. I'll find out the power output in a few weeks, we're organizing a dyno day.. I'm expecting 180hp/340tq at the front wheels.. A few others with similar setups are over 200hp/350tq.. I have 232k on my car and drive it all over.. I put 700 miles on it this weekend.

239wtq will not walk a 300wtq.....put it this way...torque powers your acceleration. I've had a 2.0t Jetta and walked on Hondas with no mods to my car. Why? Because Honda's make half the torque I did.

yes it will.. it's all about the rpm band.. my brother's honda only makes 200tq and he walks away from me.. races are won by horsepower/weight ratio, not torque.. Do some research or go to a track for a day and you'll learn a LOT

Getting off the line can win you the race, I'm not saying having low power is good. As for power:weight ratio....well, obviously a lighter car will require less power to perform the same. When I said 239 won't walk on 330 its because he only gets 250hp and you get 200 in a lighter car. Personally I would have taken a VR6 over that TDI.. Volkswagen motors respond well to mods. MPG shouldn't be a factor if you run it like a race car. Though I'm sure 50 mpg does make you happy.

If I wanted real power out of a VW I would have built a 1.8T or VR, or an older audi 5 cyl, but I have a reasonably fast VW that I can drive 750 miles between fillups.. That works for me. I never intended to mod the car when I first got it, I bought it for a commuter car but got carried away with it... When I really want to go fast I grab the camaro.... it;s a 2nd gen that runs 11's..
