rumi was one of the greatest saints of ALLAH, ibno arabi,abdulkadir jelani etc..i read one of his works the' signs of unseen' i am a sufi from mindanao in the philippines, praise be TO ALLAH, our journey with ALLAH,to ALLAH,from ALLAH alone. everything is HIM !

If Rumi ji needed a living master like Shamas Tabrez to get enlightened, how can we assume that we don't need one. Respect the old Masters but Love the living Masters. When one meets the living Master and surrender unconditionally to him only then he can really understand and feel real Love for the old masters like Rumi ji and only than one can understand their teachings.

I studied Rumi's poems for a while now. Is it just me, or was islam, in the time of Rumi more liberal & democratic.

Sami Yusuf-He is one of the most famous and respected Islamic artists of the 21century. He practices Tassawwuf Alhamdulillaah! Music becomes haram when it is used for the wrong purposes. Qawaali, Nasheeds, Naats, are all part of spirituallity. We are filled with spiritual diseases. Zikhr and Qawaali cleanse us of those sins. Ma'Sha'Allah! SubhanaAllah! The Pious Saints of Allah Almighty are the best example just as Prophet Muhummad on how to live a life that pleases Allah Subhana Ta'Allah.

I have seen the Dervishes a couple of times, and always find my soul to be transported just by watching their ritual.
