  • killer !!

  • This is one of my favorite songs of all time.

  • definately has that barry white sound

  • @aztecs444 This is Barry White & Love Unlimited Orchestra's "Love's Theme" with lyrics!! LOL J/K

  • @solesirching73 .. actually, you are correct..Barry White was the driving force behind this timeless classic song and great talented Johnny Bristol.

  • @MIKE761CPU Johnny was making music long before Barry White. It has to be the other way around - He influenced Barry White.

  • @jackye06 ...I never said influenced.and let me ask you this...were you around to hear these artists live..in there hey day? I was...Johnny Bristol was born in 1939..Barry White..1944..there is a 5 year age gap.. know your facts....I said that Barry LUO..Loves Unlimited orchestra..was the one doing the music on his song..& Barry did the arrangement!

  • Betcamus: In the music business we all have influences which dictate certain arrangements and instruments used when producing a song. I certainly hear Barry White's signature use of strings but the song itself is Johnny Bristol's.(Barry never sued) I love his arrangement of the strings, the bass line and the passion within the lyrics. I might be dating myself here but I grew up listening to this music and musicians have always drawn from their influences without compromising their own sound.

  • Sublime.

  • The reason I can concretely say because I am a prolific reader of credits -no mention on either albums you have to remember - Bristol had just left Motown- no need for him to collaborate he had hits under his belt - - I will say this- Barry had better follow up hits--Check this out listen to Bristols " you turn me on to love -then listen to Smokey Robinsons"Cruzin together" listen to the rythym section with the tambourine shaking-both similiar where did Smokey get this from? Give u 3 guesses

  • To responder Betcamus- I was a DJ ing when Barry White s came out and when Johhny Bristols song was released-- there is no way he sampled Barrys Orchestra- they both happened to use orhcestras and had similars sounds. Besides Barry would not stand for that. Also - Barry sounded a lot like Issac Hayes - at least voice wise at the time when he started releasing his own records

But Johhny Bristol - sampled Barry White - didnt happen.

  • @mrzeedmanful What if Johnny and Barry collaborated behind-the-scenes on both tracks? The songs were released almost months apart from one another. Plus, the melody in both tracks are too similar to be a coincidence or even accident, IMO. Take "You To Me Are Everything" by 70s British/soul group, Real Thing. Same melody/instrumentals as "Love's Theme" and "Hang On In There, Baby".

  • Thank you Johnny for this wonderful HIT !

    777

  • Very Fine .....one of the finest Voices ..ever !! This sweet Soulstuff is Forever...more & more & more & more.....all the TIME !!

  • good vibes fae this

  • This was my song for gettin' dressed and hittin' the streets of Memphis, Tennessee in the 70's.

  • (Now that we've caressed a kiss so warm and tender) I love this song you can't beat the 70s :)

  • Jesus

  • Great track, but one thing I noticed is that he sampled Love Unlimited Orchestra's "Love's Theme" for this. Interesting.

  • @betcamus

Sorry betcamus even through the orchestration my sound similar to Barry White's Love Theme, it wasn't sampled because those are real musicians playing those strings because sampling wasn't used at all in 1974 musicians were musicians

  • @juandon21 "sampling wasn't used at all in 1974 musicians were musicians" True, to an extent. The concept of "sampling" wasn't created until the age of hip-hop/rap, but the practice of artists and producers duplicating each other's sound or even producers/musicians recycling their own music to various artists was it's own form of sampling even before the "genre"/practice came about later on in music history.

  • @betcamus

  • one of the greatest songs ever....gotta dance

  • Bette Midler & luther Vandross kick ass on this tune!!....Thighs & whispers album

  • To quote Barbara Streisand or SNL, this song is "Like butter!!"

  • "We'll hear the Thunder roar.. Feel the lightening strike!" So over the top.. yet someone not corny or cheesy at all. Great song... remember being a kid and my mother blasting this (and other great stuff) as she cleaned the house.
