You give a good answer to why we should 'try' to speak in tongues. It could be that I never spoken in tongues just because I never tried to. There's only one question I still have: did the christians of Acts also 'try' to speak in tongues? And if they didn't, what makes them different from us today?

YES! This is great! Over the past few days i am doing this in the mornings; what a different type of day i am having as a result. What is happening to me is on the inside and definitely from The Holy Spirit. This is transforming me. i have used this before whenever i am praying quietly with others; healing prayer ministry but now i am doing this on my own with God. If my inner world is spirit filled then my outer world consequently. If i am changed on the inside, my 'outer' world improves!

This is an awesome teaching! Though I must take issue; there is such a thing as speaking supernaturally where the Holy Ghost speaks through a person. Just like in old Israel God would supernaturally lite the initial fire in the temple then it was their job to keep it burning naturally. It's far better if a person speaks supernaturally at least one time. Then if they follow the directions prescribed in this video they will find the blessings to be insanely tremendous!

Great video!! I was one of those people who thought that "something was going to come over me". I was guided similar to how to this video. After I received the gift, there was also a short time where I got "stuck" on 1 phrase that I kept repeating. I finally got past it! ha! I realized that most people don't talk about the EXPERIENCE of speaking in tongues. Thanks for this video!

continuing - prophecy is a Spiritual gift that once again some have, and some don't. We are all different parts of the same body, and we are gifted differently according to God's divine plan. I wouldn't say that all of us should speak in tongues as Corinthians 14:4 says "One who speaks in tongues edifies himself, but one who prophesies edifies the church." I hold against no one whether they speak it or not, and I don't believe we are command to do so. love the teaching though.

There is a lot of good discussion over this topic. In Acts (as mentioned) the Apostles spoke in other tongues, which we understand to mean language. To understand what is happening, we need only read further to see that as Peter preached, everyone outside understood it in their own language..in other words Peter was speaking in another "tongue or language" The Corinthians verse 14:2 I believe refers to a spiritual gift that some have, and some don't. that chapter also speaks of prophecy,
