When I change it to "Fluid" the particles just explode into random directions on the screen, not being affected by gravity and out of control. NO settings were changed... ??????
@Animation8000 as long as you follow the extra directions in the description everything in the video works fine... I used all of these settings all last week to work on a new tutorial.
@adriou5 if I were to slow down any more the video would have been 30 to 40 minutes. The settings work I used them all of last week to work on a point density project
@masterapmark its still there. under Integration theres a pull down menu for you to choose Verlet. Time Step is underneath it and subframes as well. Make sure you have Fluid Selected under Physics sections of the Particles tab if you do not see these option. I am using Blender 2.61 to check these settings for you if you are curious
@SpiritCrisis i did what the description said... however my particles are still all over the place... just less all over the place, like instead of shooting bullets its throwing rocks in every direction...
ok first of all i have the newest version of blender and there is no radius thing and when i use stiffness it doesnt change anything so PLEASE HELP/REPLY
@theFLProd ill have to try this on the latest version of blender. Im not sure how much time im going to have this week to do anything so please send me a Private Message so I can keep it in my log to look over when I get some time. Hope I can figure something out for you :D
When I change it from newtonian to fluid in the physics, my particles don't continue to flow they start to go all over the place in all directions. Why is this, and how can I fix it? Thanks.
@putthisonmytab there are multiple reasons for this. If you didnt start back at frame one and press play to update the animation, you have to many particles, your settings are bad, or you may just need to save and restart and reload blender... If you forgot to set one setting proper then it will explode everywhere mostly if you set something to high..
@putthisonmytab hey, i found out that its because of the interaction of the particles in the physics options. i guess the newer versions (i have 2.58) set it to 1.i like it at .290 but its up to you
@videofountain good point this is why I didn't want to make this video. When I made this video there was no hard data or data at all on what does what. So when I researched this I just tried to come up with my best understanding and put a video out there. The only reason I made this video is because allot of people have been requesting this topic and no one has a good tutorial on it.
Hope this answers your question.. Have a great day....
If Blender.org provide satisfactory and reviewed technical documentation ... then you and others could translate this into user documentation ... with creative 3d compositions
I wanted the particles entering then remaining in a particular container.
I had some luck but in some occasions the particles wiggle out.
I want the middle to end frames to show contained particle volume to be constant ..while individual particles can wiggle around.
I want them to enter container and stay in container. Only exit container at my choosing. I am having trouble identifying the correct parameters to set or animate.
@Officially2015 ill be looking into this when i get some free time... there's going to be a part 2 of this video anyways lol... Thanks for the comment and ill try my best to answer these questions in the next part of this series.
@richmeister4eva to me its worse but I still have to spend allot more time on it and see how things go. Just a matter of investing allot of time and effort into learning the perfect settings for what you want
FYI, if the sphere is that small, you can reduce the height and width after you add it, this makes it a lot faster. :) Great tutorial. Also, how do you upload videos longer than 15 minutes?
@mobilefreek there is another tutorial coming down the road with some composting aspects to these sim's just tell me specifically what you would like to be done and ill try to work on it... by what do you mean textured... particles or duplivert
Ps don't ever Change Fludi to any else when you have press'd play

Thanks. Helpful Video.
Sometimes in the video you have expressed a little uncertainty.
You stated ... 05:56
"tell you what each option does in my opinion".
Is that because you cannot find documentation?
I am looking for documentation

@SpiritCrisis
I believe its quite fair and useful to say this topic has little official documentation.
IMHO this taboo topic of documentation for Blender (B) really hurts the product.
The lack documentation for the Beta (B) convinces some people not to want to use (B) at all.
Some would rather pay cash for a product that DOES have documentation.
Even Beta Software can serve its customers by having base doc on the day of release.
Blender mgmt chooses minimal documentation training to users.

Whenever I switch it over to FLUID, under particles, they start exploding all over the place instead of regularly falling. I can't figure out why.
