As the father of two sons with autism, one non-verbal, I just wanted to say thanks. Your video was so inspirational. While most with autism are not savants, everyone… regardless of their abilities has something to share in this world. Sometimes it’s as simple as the change for the better that they make in their caregiver or the people who take the time to know them.
I knew a lot of students at university who could read one chapter in a textbook of a Medical topic once or twice & could remember it all. They would always get top marks in exams. But, I found their ability to understand & describe emotions were quite superficial. I guess they have so much empty space in their brain to just absorb plain information, but they don't have the connections to consolidate emotions with great clarity. Give them something very emotion-based & they would have a problem.
A kid in my school is just like this, he's a genius. His autism seems more severe than this guy, but he's like an encyclopedia. Still remember 7th grade we had this Geo-B, I got 3rd in it in the school, and I ended up losing to him and some other kid but he got 1st. He didn't get 1 question wrong.
In another interview Daniel said he has trouble walking on a beach because of his compulsion to count the grains of sand. In the beginning of this he's walking on a beach looking calm. Orlando could well have actively memorized the weather and day of the week for each date. Think about it. If you committed the weather and date to memory every day, and spent 10 minutes a day reviewing it, you would surely remember as well. Maybe Orlando does it without conscious effort, but it's not a miracle.
A lot of these cases are overblown. One thing many of these types of savants share is obsession. Constantly, compulsively "studying". They have a huge focus on at least one thing. This part tends to be ignored when I see these videos. It seems to be always framed as if they have some super power.
Even for remembering the weather, who checks the weather forecast *every* day for years. Im not saying everyone could do the same, but most people have fairly poor focus.

@JohnLennonForTheWin I bet there's a difference between autism (like u?) and social anxiety (like many people), but I can't help wondering.. Why do I always think of autism and autist people, why are those skills rare if we should be able to have them.. and why is it so hard for some of them to develop social skills ? Is it because they became autists in their childhood ? I think too much, that's maybe why I can't be an autist :P
@JohnLennonForTheWin (true ! One last question.. why, if music is the best thing worldwide, and if it is soo easy to find and remember.. why is it so rare to find a musician genius ? There should be more, I can't understand..)
@JohnLennonForTheWin Btw, I think that autism and retardness are too worlds appart. Also, I would like to tell you that I think it's impossible to forget sthg, it's just somehow bluerred, but I can ensure you you can remember things you forgot. I do, but I don't know how ^^"
Without the burst of blood from the placenta, the infant suffers a drop in blood pressure as its lungs fail to open as they should, creating a chain reaction of effects that can include brain damage and lung damage. Immediate cord clamping can cause hypotension, hypovolemia and infant anemia, resulting in cognitive deficits. Some have even theorized that the rise in autism could be linked at least in part to early cord clamping.
Newborn lungs exist in a “compacted state” suitable for the womb. When the infant is born, the placenta & cord pulse for up to 20 minutes, delivering a burst of blood volume to the infant’s system. This blood burst is just what is needed for the lungs of the newborn to expand.Unfortunately, many hospitals & doctors don’t understand the mechanics of this and are engaging in early umbilical cord clamping — often within one minute of birth.
My Sons Dad is gifted, Excellent at Maths, Good at lots of things. I think our Son has Autism behaviours. Taught me stuff. At 5 He can plug in a keyboard & mouse into a computer. He can write, teach himself by book gets taught to write. Says silly things like hello roof & laughs at sily things he says. Robot & shuffle walks to laugh at. Spins & has excess energy, makes a few silly noises, follows instructions, sweet & nurturing to his little sister & toys. Likes babies, computers & video games
@mylovesofmylife Any chance you can get him interested in rap music? The game needs a revival and I've always thought a savant with specialized skills could craft the most incredible verses and rhyme schemes. If not rap at least poetry.
@OsmosisDives do you mean get my Son or Man interested in rapd music/video games. My Son is obsessed with video games, he will break down in tears, if he can't play x-box alot. Now hes on the kids computer with his big sister. Hes also quite good at drawing for his age, consdering I never taught him to draw, I used to draw, but gave it up, for photography-taking photos of my kids, and making graphics out of my pictures of my kids. Hes a very interesting personality! YD picks up things well.
I hate my childhood. After I was beat up, when I was living downtown in this place called Newport News, Virgina, I passed out and woke up on my living room couch and these cartoons called Secret Squirrel and 2 Stupid dogs and I could draw them as if I made it. I still can draw. For some reason, I have a hard time with numbers too. I have a very hard time Adding, subtracting, dividing, and multiplying. I can't even talk to people unless it's via the damn internet. I feel like I'll never change.
@baxtermindymollymagg I am so sorry! I can't believe I wrote this... I'm currently volunteering with autistic children, and understand now. I will remove this right now!
@MMAProfessor Apparently I might be some type of musical genius. I was talking with an acquaintance who has a genius IQ and after observing my behavior for a few years, he believes this to be true. It's also that much more honest because I know the guy never liked me very much at all. I don't yet know if I'm just a normal person who has held himself back because of being stuck in a place surrounded by painfully uninteresting people, or if I'm a bit autistic because I do have strange approach.
@MMAProfessor I actually have some albums and rather obscure projects in production. I make music regularly and try to cover as many genres as possible, those these primarily being of a heavier origin at the time. My overall skill seems to be that I can put a great deal of emotion into what I make and essentially make a more honest product. There is much to be shown in not very much time now, and performance videos are also part of the big picture.
I was curious about this actually.... I have an outstanding ability to tell time based on the position of the sun and amount of light. I was half awake in bed and I glanced out my window and thought, "Based on the position of the sun and the amount of light, I'm guessing it is 8 am." I reach for my watch and it was exactly 8 am.
How weird is this, I search "incredible" hoping to find the song "incredible" by Sacha Baron Cohen, and instead this video comes up, and in it is Simon Baron Cohen, Sacha's cousin.
You people with you truly immature and thoughtless comments make me sick! I am a mother with 4, yes FOUR sons with Autism. You don't know the hell they live in on a daily basis. To make such idiotic comments truly sickens me and all other parents/people living with this disorder. I suggest you spend more time with Autistic people to know what it's like, then judge.
If you want to know why autism is so ramped.. Its because the establishment has found the gene of "crystal children" and with the shoots, pollution/HAARP they suppress the gene causing autism. Every time you look at an autistic child just know they would have been a crystal child.
I don't know what I have, this is why I am awake AGAIN at 4am with the radio on, 2 televisions on and the internet and its still not enough. there is still a gap in my mind that needs filling up with something or else it goes too fast

"did he like the sort of repetitive movement?" "yes that soothed him" "the repetitions kind of soothed him, sort of like autism" that convo was ridiculous. swaying is normal for calming babies and does NOT indicate autism.
For information on the bases of many nonverbal learning disorders (common in Asperger's), in addition to audiological disorders such as Autism (toward end of talk) search "Dr. Laurie Cestnick" and "harvard university" on youtube for a video. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!
@Skeletonwitharaygun Did you even read what i just wrote? magnum didn't even type anything that the guy said in the vid, what the guy actually said was "june 3rd, 1985 it was a monday it was hot" The key word there being that he got the correct day of the week - monday. Can you actually not see what is special about that?
My sister is autistic, and has a form of this, where she can recall what she did on certain dates of certain years, including ones where she was only five or six. Insane.
i think everyone is like this...not just autistic people except since there socially awkward etc there brain only focuses on one thing while our brain be all over the place with thought and ideas...i would like to meet someone without autism who can control there brain like this
You know what's funny....I need to walk back and forth all the time to think at my best potentials. Seriously, you'll find me walking back and forth from one room or another while I contemplate on something creative (sometimes whispering and moving my hands). If still I'm not even half as good at thinking out 'things' and I'm a brilliant student.
genius in latin means spirit and this is not some "brain" that does this extraordinary things it's his spirit, it is his spiritual essence and its depth which is responsible for this.all these "scientists" who always struggle to understand these prodigies could never do so until they realize that we are spirit i.e. virtual reality, quantum energy and this beloved "brain" of theirs can be studied realistically only subjectively that is by oneself through our own consciousness.
My son 10 yrs old with Aspergers is in a contest with Wataah! He's been playing guitar for little over a year. He is able to learn songs so quickly it's hard to keep up with him. Hope you like it! Please give him positive feedback, he's 10. Thanks!

okay i have a problem with this whole scene:
"did he like the sort of repetitive movement?" "yes that soothed him" "the repetitions kind of soothed him, sort of like autism" that convo was ridiculous. swaying is normal for calming babies and does NOT indicate autism.

For information on the bases of many nonverbal learning disorders (common in Asperger's), in addition to audiological disorders such as Autism (toward end of talk) search "Dr. Laurie Cestnick" and "harvard university" on youtube for a video. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

@Skeletonwitharaygun He said the day of the week, genius. There's a 1 in 7 chance of guessing that, and he gets it right every time.
iwillbombyou 9 months ago
@iwillbombyou
LMAO!
July is summer time.
There's only really 2 types of weather in the summer.
Rainy and sunny.
So the chances of guessing that is more like 1 in 2 ha ha.
I predict that the weather in New York on july 12th of this year will be sunny.
OMG I can see the future!
...Genius
Skeletonwitharaygun 9 months ago
@Skeletonwitharaygun Did you even read what i just wrote? magnum didn't even type anything that the guy said in the vid, what the guy actually said was "june 3rd, 1985 it was a monday it was hot" The key word there being that he got the correct day of the week - monday. Can you actually not see what is special about that?

When you say "The key word there being"
You're supposed to point out ONE word.
Also...
Did I ever say anything about his date calculating skills? No
I was just calling bullshit on the weather thing.
Skeletonwitharaygun 9 months ago
@Skeletonwitharaygun i did point out one word. Whatever.

My sister is autistic, and has a form of this, where she can recall what she did on certain dates of certain years, including ones where she was only five or six. Insane.

It would be cool if people worked out what part of the brain got damaged and then could preform operations to people to make them smarter :)

Is there any link you think?

genius in latin means spirit and this is not some "brain" that does this extraordinary things it's his spirit, it is his spiritual essence and its depth which is responsible for this.all these "scientists" who always struggle to understand these prodigies could never do so until they realize that we are spirit i.e. virtual reality, quantum energy and this beloved "brain" of theirs can be studied realistically only subjectively that is by oneself through our own consciousness.

My son 10 yrs old with Aspergers is in a contest with Wataah! He's been playing guitar for little over a year. He is able to learn songs so quickly it's hard to keep up with him. Hope you like it! Please give him positive feedback, he's 10. Thanks!
