This series really had a lot going for it. Too bad they couldn't hire better writers. If you saw the first episode then that's all you needed to see because every episode after it was exactly the same.

They basically kept recycling the same script over and over again. Introduced lame villain-of-the-week (trust me, they were lame), one of the three girls develops a personal vendetta against the villain, against everyone's wishes she sets out to kill villain on her own, other girls swoop in and save the day, girl with personal vendetta learns her lesson (teamwork and justice not revenge and blah, blah, blah).

Lesson learned until the next episode when the exact same thing happens all over again but with a new bad guy. It all got very tiring, very fast. Nothing new ever happened and character development was practically non-existent. Another flaw was that due to pressure from the teen-friendly WB network, the producers were forced to replace one of the characters from the comics with a new teenage character who was so full of angst that you wanted to smack her.

She was also worthless. Think Dawn from "Buffy" only more annoying. Based on the premise alone, I really wanted to like this show but I was never given a good enough reason to like it. A wasted effort.

Gotta say, I think you're wrong. The series wasn't crap at all. It was a teen, girl show, and for that it was done exceptionally well. Kind of like how the 60's Batman aimed to be silly, and this show is far better than that.

Ive never seen the Birds of Prey Series, but it sounds like a good series to me. The only problem that I can see from everything I've seen on Youtube, read on wikipedia, the DC Wiki, etc., etc. is the costumes. Batgirl's and Helena's costumes both suck; Oraclde's old costume is very shitty, even though it's directly taken from the comics, and Helena's...is she even trying to protect her identity? And I really don't understand the Dinah situation: is she the daughter of Black Canary or...?

I liked the series quite a bit, and also what I've seen of the DVD so far, having watched a little of that. The only real problem I've noticed is the DVD changed some of the music used in the series. They changed the show's opening theme music (And I hate what they replaced it with), and I heard they replaced the music which is played in the awesome final battle scene of the show's finale (Unlike most short- lived TV shows, BOP had a great finale which provided a good, strong end to the series).

I saw the entire Birds of Prey show. I didn't really like it. However, if I hadn't seen the show and I was watching this review, I'd be confused as hell because there is no in depth critique. Explain why it's bad and use examples. Explain why they're terrible other than saying "their bad"

well, wouldnt that be more fun to give such a "bad show" a more in depth review? the bad stuff is always more fun to review because you can make fun of it. i have never seen it, nor do i have any burning desire to, but i was genuinly curious to know about what you thought made it so bad. I mean, seeing as this is a review of the show, arent you kind of defeating the purpose by NOT really reviewing it? you just say how bad it is.

Main problem

1)They totally changed the story all together from the comics. Huntress never hated her father. She worked as a Lawyer for Dick Grayson(aka Robin) and had an affair.

The character was first introduced in the Batman comics in the 1960s,then a regular in the Batman Family comics of the 1970s.

2)The script for the show was horrible. Dumb one liners ect..

Could never compete with BUFFY. I'm all for girl power and eye candy Shamar Moore, but the script was terrible.

I remember watching the whole series. I loved Oracle (Barbara Gordon confined to a wheelchair) and found the daughter of Batman (what was her name?) kind of interesting, but the blond girl was a so annoying and I think, a baaaad actress...They just needed to replace her.

I was sad when it went off the air, but yeah it probably wouldn't appeal to a guy expecting Batman and yes, some of it was dumb, but it had potential.

Has Smallville gotten better since it has been on for 7 seasons? I enjoyed seasons 1-3, but it has just fallen off the cliff and drowned every season after that. It's usually easy for a series to go from good to bad, but it's much harder for a series to go from bad to good.

I agree with you on Smallvile That is why i quit seeing it , aroun season 6 when Luthor (Rosem¡nBaum), and Lana (Kreuk ) left , so did I.. As for Birds of Prey, i saw two episodes recently , one with harequinn and it wasnt that bad, maybe it needed more time to spread its wings, and yeah better scripts were needed, but the show promised (13 episodes is not that much for a very low budget series). Well sometimes great series fail too, take for example the 90 Flash , which even so failed.
