  • No, I'm 100% shure it was Roger at 2.19. It sounded almost like Roger's voice.

  • It's Freddie.

  • @Gregsynthbootlegs Well If the quality was better it woud be clear. I still have a big doubt about this one. Same thing about 3/12/79. Hope some day we'll got better sources.

  • 12/3/1979 is clearly Freddie: Roger can't sing two lines at the same time!

  • At what minute E5 ?

  • 2:19.

  • Well that E5 is hard to say because it sounds like he jumped up to it it could just be head voice or falsetto. Sounds like he just lost alittle control like a crack but not a crack if you know what I mean. It's hard to tell sometimes between head and false. I wonder sometimes if I am using a thin head voice or falsetto.

  • It's probably that full-sounding falsetto called "re-enforced falsetto."

  • @Gregsynthbootlegs I think it's a brief falsetto on the r sound of the word rock. Is Freddie the only one singing the song or is Roger singing too? I ask because and correct me wrong Greg but the vocal improve from the bowl 1982 when Freddie says I feel positively nackered aahhhh well the ahhh sounds similar to the high note here but I'm not sure Freddie if Freddie did that ahhh at the bowl but it sounds like falsetto when he did that at the bowl so it must be falsetto here too.

  • It's just Freddie singing.

At this point, I'm willing to believe it's some sort of falsetto.

  • @Gregsynthbootlegs I agree and I made a mistake about the bowl it was a guitar what I was hearing. It's a brief falsetto though. The more I learn about singing the more I notice no one even the pros no what their talking about. I sometimes tell voice coaches hey that's wrong what you talking about. Well the only way we will be 100% is to have the tec to go back in time and look at his chords.

  • Haha!

  • I'm not a singer... but in my humble opinion I think that note is quite strong and it doesn't seem to me a falsetto note. But is it really Freddie's? If the quality was better... :(

  • It is Freddie! I think it's a screeched full note, but I'm not 100% sure!

  • @Gregsynthbootlegs

If he really hit that note, he would reach his highest studio notes! Let's find a F5, lol.

  • Haha!

  • @Gregsynthbootlegs

    I think he never hit a F5 live x)

Maybe we can find lower notes, lower than A2... maybe in some Impomptu!

  • Maybe!

  • @carooomargheee I'm totally agree with you! If we can find a picture or a better sound when he hits this E5, we can certify the value of this performance...

  • @VentilatorOfQueen

    We could...

  • @carooomargheee Yep, that's better! LMAO!

  • @carooomargheee Found! Staying Power from Stockholm 82 at 2:15!

  • @VentilatorOfQueen

Are you sure? I can't clearly hear... but you could be right, I can't recognise notes by ear..

  • @carooomargheee I compare it with a software and my ear, it's a F (WE are the champions, my friends for an example), on the 5th octave! My "problem" is the voice : is it really full or not... I think it's full, but obviously, I'm not perfect!

  • @VentilatorOfQueen

    Ok, I trust you :)

Now you should find notes on the 2nd octave! lol

  • @carooomargheee It's that I try to do! But I try...;)

  • @VentilatorOfQueen

I'm gonna listen to every Impromptu.. I have the feeling there are some low notes there... lol

  • @carooomargheee Good luck my friend! You're on the right way to find some A1, I hope! ;)

  • @VentilatorOfQueen

    Yeah, I hope so! x)

Maybe A1 is too low for Fred!

  • @carooomargheee I don't think so, he's so impressive!

  • I like his E5 at 2:19 : I thought it was Roger!

  • Great ears! My god, Freddie's live range is almost like his studio range now!

  • @Gregsynthbootlegs Ha, ha! Thanks Greg, but I'm not sure if it's falsetto so keep us cooler : i'm going to analyse this and I will reply it!

  • I am sorry but it's falsetto/head voice, and I have three explanations. First of all, there is a little break/jump after E5 - on the next note which down from a E4 to C4 - whereas the high note is constant : is it easier to sing E5 than C4? i don't think so! My second explanation is his shape. A begining of a gig don't give to Freddie's voice the power to sing so high despite of his B4 at the begining ("Everybody" at 0:40). Finally, his E5 is more clear than his C#5 on Somebody To Love...

  • It sounds so full though! Do you think it's a thin head voice, or a "re-enforced falsetto?"

  • All right!
