this song sounds like a country honkey tonk. at any rate the author deserves best of credit for it.  it's a great peice of work even though i am atheist, PS i also have a bout 50 different versions(different singers ) of amazing grace which i love . for the sound and the music, especially in bagpipes, and cherokee version

This is a religious song. Incredibly spiritual, written by a Pentecostal preacher/singer. He was 12 when he wrote it, by the way.

At our church we do a Saturday night outreach service and the people are responding very well to the old gospel and folk style worship songs whereas we weren't getting much response with the "contemporary worship" stuff.
