yup, they waited and waited, they allowed after market to build bull barrells for couple decades, now they came out with the bull barrell 10/22 t,,then the tactical came out with the bull barrel, and then the bx 25.you would think they put the nipples on there to connect them.wait two decades, they might.lol got to love ruger.i bought the beautifull 10/22T.just pretty.got me a bx 25.i pick up the rifle tuesday.cant wait.now if they would include a bi pod for the T model,or even sell them seperate.
Tis is very cool. I have had good luck with BC "Steel Lips" not BC "Hot Lips" and otherwise the rest of the ones i have tried which has been a lot have sucked. I'll be picking up a few of these. Thanks for the vid!
Nice review! I have two coming in the mail.. I noticed you "dry fired" your ruger. Do you think that hurts it after awhile? I have no clue, lookin for some advice, thanks.
I've just purchased one of these BX-25s. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet but the build quality seems really high, it's sturdy and is made to be taken apart and cleaned if need be. I was really excited when I ran across this thing at Cheaper than Dirt on my way home from work. I've got a Buttler Creek Hot Lips mag and I think it's a piece of shit. Looking forward to shooting this mag.
good video. i have the exact same experience. i have eagle 10 rnds that run fine, but the high caps are total crap. jam every 2nd or 3rd round. im excited to try the ruger bx mag
great review man! DON'T THROW YOUR EAGLE MAGs AWAY,Those Eagle mags need to be "tuned" before they'll run 100%, I made a video about it on my channel. still, I like the shape of the Factory Ruger 25's
I picked up acouple at the annual NRA Conf in Pittsburg this year, when they first hit the market... gotta say they do work well, Its pretty much a stock 10 round rotary mag with an extension... finally a magazine that works straight from Ruger! This will stay with my Survival Gear. Bravo Kilo out!

There really is not such a thing as a tactical .22 unless you put a suppressor on it and use it for taking out lights. I don't get why throwing a high-capacity magazine on a .22LR makes it tactical all of the sudden. Can you explain this to me? Thanks
@AppalachianPrepper r I would assume that a "tactical" .22 is one that resembles both in appearance and function that of its bigger brother. I wouldn't call a Ruger 10/22 that has a hi-cap magazine a tactical .22 - however adding a pistol grip, folding stock and red-dot sight - along with the hi-cap magazine - sure.....thats a tactical .22LR.
"No honest man needs more "than ten rounds in any gun." "I never meant for simple civilians to have my twenty- or thirty-round mags or my folding stock."
@ModernSurvivalOnline That's because he died and his son retired. The fact remains that the success Sturm, Ruger and Company enjoys today, is due, almost entirely, to the efforts of Bill Ruger and his son. As a result, my principles prevent me from having anything to do with Ruger.
Thanks for the comments everyone - these mags continue to work very well. Frm talking to one of the sales guys at my local gun shop - rumor has it - true I do not know - that due to demand that these will be difficult to get. Where I bought the 2 in the video is totally sold out. I ended up ordering 5 off the net for 21.99 each . Received them today.
Good video, I've been using the Alangator trimag with the standard magazines. I will be stocking up on these now!! Wonder why it took so long for ruger to make these?
Still think the S&W would be better for a "tactical .22". Since you can cross train with the AR 15. The 10-22 is one of the best .22lr rifles around though, and these are a LOOOOOOONNNNGGGGG time coming like you said. Thanks for the first impressions. Makes the Ruger a complete package, magazines being the key to semi-autos and all.

I agree with message above. A clip is used to feed a magazine. Two entirely different devices.

@ModernSurvivalOnline
I want one so bad. I called Ruger and they said they can't sell it in Canada. RCMP rejected them because it can fit in the .22 Ruger pistol as well.
You lucky Americans.

I wouldn't buy anything associated with Ruger...

@DuckSackJones87 Bill Ruger doesn't run Ruger anymore - times change. Purchasing a Ruger does not reflect support in his beliefs when he was alive.

Now if Marlin will wake up and make one for my 795 I'll be in business too! ---- BTW...Does the 10/22 normally not hold open on an empty magazine?
AppalachianFreedom 8 months ago
@AppalachianFreedom No - the Ruger normally does not hold open on empty mag. Requires modification. Thanks for the comment - Rourke
