sleepy jackson is way better than empire of the sun simplistic style. sleepy jackson has much more complex and rich songs that can take repeated listenings

i like sleepy jackson but id have to say i like empire of the sun more, i think the empire has more creative sense of song and style....we are the people is such a fantastic song and i think that empire is the best new group in many years! theyre different and unique and not afraid to go out on a limb sylistically speaking in looks or sound!

Look up Pnau and listen to their stuff, and watch some Sleepy Jackson vids (I'm not assuming you haven't, I'm just saying) and it's totally obvious which each brought to EOTS.

I love this album! Honestly, anyone who likes Empire Of The Sun or The Sleepy Jackson's second album should at least consider buying this album. It's worth it, if you like the other stuff Luke Steele's done.

I'm starting to hate MGMT for no reason-- well, only because people are saying Empire of the Sun rips them off. That's SO not true! I've waited for Luke to help make something as good as Lovers-- he finally has, and everybody is whining about the new kids on the block, MGMT. Luke was making great, quirky pop music in the 90's.

Similar chord progression on the chorus I guess, but that's about it really. Reminds me of doing their lightshow at the Rosemount in Perth and the Newport in Fremantle for the Lovers tour. Great memories, and everytime I hear this song, those two nights come flooding back to me.

I wouldn't go as far to say that they are "bigger" or own empire. But both bands are great.
