The sound quality totally sucks on this one. Import the sound into Audacity with clipping shown in red and the screen is almost totally red. It's recorded way too "hot", volume up so far that it's mostly distortion. Clean it up and it might be a good song, as is, a few seconds of it was enough for my ears.

Cerrone is and will always remain a genius. Anyone (like myself) that remembers when this song came out during that great Hustle dance era knows this music was the "bomb" when it came out there dance the real Hustle, not that crap in SNF. All the Hustle dancers get on the floor and stake their territory and go at it. What a fun time. I miss it so much. The closes I get now is to go dancing "Salsa" at the Latin Clubs in New York City.
This was music at its best. I remember dancin the Hustle to this song. It was hard to stop. Awesome music from an Awesome musician. As for what Killed Disco, go talk to KC & The Sunshine Band, ABBA, Debroah Harry, and a few others the Corporate music industry loved and saturated the airwaves with that music. Cerrone left his mark which can never be washed away. Thank you Cerrrone for the good times.
i love disco, but this is the sound that eventually killed disco due to the cheap and cheesy sound. its just way too electronic, and lacks the soul that earlier disco songs had.
French sound did not kill disco, french sound was a new wave in disco. At the time, US market was oversaturated with disco and that's what killed it, not this. It stayed very much in Europe, which now can be witnessed by the presence of house music, unlike in the US, where it's still considred cheap, chessy and gay.
@Meechooilka I personally like the classic disco sound better, but this is good too. It still has the groove and smoothness that i enjoy, and which modern house and dance seems kinda devoid of. I know a few house tracks from the late 90's that have an actual bass LINE instead of just a bass BEAT, but that's about it. It's kinda sad, because I'm at the age where I'm supposed to be clubbing, but I don't really feel like it because the music doesn't make me wanna dance at all
@CrazyliciousFlavor I know exactly what you mean man. I feel the same way. Im very much into the deep and funky and disco sound in house music, so naturally i love all these classic tunes. I still go raving and clubbing because im a music lover overall but i wish we could go back to this style...
@CrazyliciousFlavor Oh man thats how I feel. I like the classic disco also. But I wish they would come back with this sound. I'm just a youngster and like disco and older music it was awsome.
Teaching time....The Old C.O.C.P Club...Sugar Hill Club Brooklyn......the Old Coppa Cabana...Cho-Cha Beach nights...The Jezebel Express Lounge, Brooklyn.....
Cerrone was so talented he could play the bongos and the drums at the same time, as evidenced by this video! :)
His disco sound started a couple of years before this, as the drummer for Kongas. I'm not too crazy about his later stuff, but this track is a true classic. Him and Alec Costandinos basically worked together to make this sound.
this music superb, i head this tune directly uplifted by South Indian Music Director Mr. D.V. Mahadevan (Mama) for the movie Muddula Mavaiah (Balayya movie)...
ooh please dont compare sucvh music with the south indian musicians.........m not against them......they do a wonderful job........but not like cerrone...
Thirty years back a local movie theatre (Odeon) used to play this record before the commencement of movies. I searched in local shops and got it taped in my collection, then.
orchestral, production, and melodic masterpiece representing the cultural and intellectual apex of this civilization: the 1970s; note the grand London Symphony Orchestra, with Pat Halling, concertmaster, conducted by the incomparable Alec Costandinos, featuring The Birds of Paris (Kay Garner, Sue Glover, Joanne Williams, Madeleine Bell, Sunny Leslie, Stephanie De Sykes, Jackie Sullivan, Jean Hawker)
Brings back memories of back in "the day." Love the long version too. Thanks. Another group recorded this song too, their name escapes me at the moment.
One of the best disco songs ever I used to mix it with version by the late great Frankie Crocker Orchestra oh yeah! by the way loved Cerrones drumming on Colonel Abram"s songs D.J. Jerry of L.I.

As far as the Hustle goes, that might be difficult because that is difficult to find. However, Salsa is entirely different. You can learn different styles, On the One, On the Two, New York Style, Miami Style, LA Style, it goes on from there. Eddie Torres in New York has a great video and Jose Neglia from LA has a great video. I prefer to find an instructor and go that route. More personal. Good Luck!!!!!!
I came out of the closet in 1976 and this was one of the most glamorous disco songs that was spinning at the time and still is a testament to the fabulous vibe that was Disco!!!
Another Great Hit in 1976 from Cerrone! brings back dancing memories! This was the first time that I see this video, never knew it existed, I just think that the person who commented on the the black guy who is not disco is right! he belongs in a "do the bump" club! and the sexy legs ladies need dancing lessons! It looks like they are lost in space dancing to their own beat! my red neck friend dances better than that!
Absolutley essential 70's Eurodisco. The production on this track was way ahead of it's time and it still sounds fresh today !! Cerrone wrote some incredible disco tracks that will NEVER be forgotten.
The black guy doesn't belong there, he is not Disco, I think he got into the wrong club, he was probably looking for the funky club. But that's ok, he looks like he was having fun.
I was totally addicted to disco in the late 70's and never heard this one from Cerrone at the time, can u believe it, thanks to the internet helping us DISCOver what we've missed along the years.
yeah but the "i dont knowwhivh girl to frantically fuck forst" image is old fashioned..the song is futuristic for sure but that is one ugly ole pervert...
my father used to listen to this on gramophone player good to listen this after so many years still feel so great.

Absolutley essential 70's Eurodisco. The production on this track was way ahead of it's time and it still sounds fresh today !! Cerrone wrote some incredible disco tracks that will NEVER be forgotten.

Cerrone! Your arrangements still sound fresh - 31 years later. Crisp and danceable as ever. Viva Cerrone.

The beginning of the video is nice. This song is perfect for Hustle dancing, NY style of course.

The black guy doesn't belong there, he is not Disco, I think he got into the wrong club, he was probably looking for the funky club. But that's ok, he looks like he was having fun.
The music is what's important.
This is a killer song, unique in all it's way.

I was totally addicted to disco in the late 70's and never heard this one from Cerrone at the time, can u believe it, thanks to the internet helping us DISCOver what we've missed along the years.

2007 and I listen to this song at least once a week. One of the most powerful Disco songs of all times among Disco lovers and connoisseurs.
This song never sounds old, it's amazing.
Thanks for posting it.
