  • extremely muddy IMHO

  • best sox ever!

  • Joe satriani crush of love.

  • needs more rack and less pedals

  • Nice chops...reminds me of when I was younger playing vai and satch tracks through an alesis quadraverb and a peavy bandit 112 (feckin loud for a small box). I bought an ibanez rg 540 sabre in '89 thats what sach played back then...stil plays good but I'm limited to amplitube and revalver due to kids. Hey even remember my first 4 track which I still got and records on cassette tapes!!! Whats ur guitar setup i.e. action pickups etc

  • thats cool, what colour is your rg series? i had a black s470 before i got my 98' js1000, just finished the guitar with a dimarzio pickup switch, full upgraded ibanez parts to chrome, cost me like £500 to do but its an amazing instrument. it still has the original p'ups in there. my current setup is more humble, marshall jvm mxr wylde overdrive and boss dd-20 for delay, also use a boss ge-7 to scoop mids for a more metal tone, check out my newest recordings through a sm-57 and desk etc, thanks

  • Its a candy red one, original pickups hbck 2 sc. I also use ableton which is a great replacement for my 4 track.

  • nice socks

  • I think you are giving too little credit to your black socks for your amazing tone. They add a nice earthy crunch to the mix.

  • looks like yo keep your gt6 in manual mode? and are you by passing amp simulator too.

  • with this setup i used amps sims, i no longer do cos i use a pure amp tone but this setup was a great portable alternative, thanks for commenting ;)

  • @uomoscozzese oh so you always use the amp in clean , can i like use a foot switch to use my amp distortion , i have a valvetronix , i like it's od sound , if yes how do i connect ?

  • yeah the amp is always clean, if you connect through 4 cable method you can switch the amps channes with it foot pedal

  • @ricoismybitch Yes if you have a valvetronix you can make another channel with an effect and with the footswitch you can switch between for example a clean channel and a distorted channel

  • If I had money

  • Thanks for the info! I should've mentioned...I'm running the gt 6 through the effects loop on the 5150, with an external eq as well. So when I have a clean patch enabled on the gt 6, all it does is add to the main sound of the 5150. I'm not sure how to bypass the amps signal with a clean patch as you mentioned? Maybe if I try running my guitar through the gt 6 then into the head?

    any other suggestions? Thanks again.

  • nice video!! Do you know of a way to switch channels on a 5150 or any head for that matter, using the GT 6? So one could switch between the clean and gain from the head without an extra foot switch.

  • yeah what you do is make a clean patch on the gt-6 with an amp simulator enabled and the 5150 set to gain channel all the time but gt-6 set to bypass the amps signal

  • so they are connected into the gt6?..could you explain how

  • the boss pedals go into the gt-6 input then the gt-6 into the clean channel

  • I thought this was going to be another video of someone with too many pedals with a million horrible sounds. This was a great video and every sound you have on his was kick ass! Good job!

  • thanks

  • IS THIS ALL THROUGH THE CLEAN SIDE BUD

  • all clean channel

  • come on scotland! gd to see someone that makes good musical sense, and can set up a decent rig!

  • cheers bud

  • Amigo me puedes ayudar a armar el pedal que tu tienes? Ya tengo el boss gt6? Cuales con los otros?

  • the difference between analog and digital dist. sounds is irrelevant live and recording. The Mikael Åkerfeldt of Opeth uses GT-10, atleast he did at The Roundhouse Tapes. Which means it sounds fucking great.

btw giutar24, you don't like boss?: Lol...

  • its about the feel not the sound... digital is alot less responsive and can expose an amateurs touch

  • whats the best affordabale Distrotion pedal besides boss i don't like boss

  • marshall pedals are really good and overlooked, the govener and the jackhammer are really good

  • hey dude, how do you do the screams at the 2:25 minutes?

  • thats just a whammy bar sceam, check joe satriani videos or some of mine to see how, rockon dude

  • k dude thanks a lots, cool technique.. but it taks time and practice.. keep on rock

  • i prefer all stomp boxes

    i dont like digital sounds

    nice rig

  • me too, thats why i only use individual pedals

  • 99% of all delay and reverb are all digital. No getting around it. Distortion pedals are not the only boxes that are digital.

  • try using stomp boxes for distortion instead of the digital simulations on the gt-10, i'd use the gt-10 for the modulations, delay, flanger phaser etc although you cant really beat a good amps distortion from tubes

    good luck

  • My brother...

I really don't know what do and how you do...

But your sounds are so good...

Do you know how i can try off good results of my GT-8???

I prefer the amp-distortions like Rectfier, T-Amp, Mathless ones and etc.

But sometimes i don't have the really soud that i dream...

Can you help me how do i do to have this good sound in a transisted Fender Amp???

    God Bless man!!!

  • 1:52 Hurricane!

  • the bypass of the gt-6 affect your tone if its placed in the effects loop?

  • yes it sucked the tone alot, i now use quality pedals, if you want good sound the gt-6 will do it but not a precise solo tone

  • And to use dropped D tunning? D-TUNA or.. how do you do it?

  • i had the gt-6... what a fuckin waste of money. there is absolutely no point in carrying around all that bs for some stupid effects.

This is my on-stage setup btw... Boss Chromatic Tuner.

  • exactly, that why i no longer use multi effects, check out my whammy video that has my current pedal board on it

    thanks

  • is the valveking good for metal??

  • i dont own the valveking anymore but i can assure you that for the money the valveking does metal better than any other amp on the market, its a valve beast

  • this gt-6 is a piece of crap...its totally digital sound. Throw that away and get a TC G-force

  • i dont use the gt-6 anymore i use a gt-10 and i only use the digital effects like delay, chorus, reverb etc that are meant to be digital so the digital sound isnt a problem

  • i got my js1000 in italy 3 years ago in a shop in italy for around $600 and it was all beat up, ive just finished replacing all the metal hardware with original prestige ibanez parts and they cost me around $500. ill be posting a video soon showing the difference and the work ive donbe thanks

  • I like your socks:) How much did the JS1000 cost you?

  • I like my GT6 along with a Tech 21 tri-ac. It seems to work well together. Still use a boss cs-3 compressor and a real tube overdrive with a 12u7 in it. At any rate, your an awesome player and great tones your getting. Thanks for the video :)

  • thanks alot for your comment

  • i have that orange petal in the begin that you saw so ya i fell special =)))))

  • Hands up who wants to see a video of this guys socks?

  • is it possible to get a really great heavy metal sound out out of the ds-1?

  • to be honest no...

  • ooh okay, i was just curious. so is that why you use the super overdrive with the ds-1 to get a little bit of a heavier sound?

  • that was my old setup, where i used a gt-6 preamp and then put ds-1 and sd-1 through it and it was a litle complicated. now i use a gt-10 and the ultra channel from the jsx amp for heavy stuff

    thanks

  • i think the ds-1 is more of a boston or aerosmith or eric clapton its good for that kinda stuff

  • if u want a heavy sound from a boss pedal use the MT-2 its beast

  • your right, i currently use the ultra channel on my jsx amp with is a proper beast

  • U sound liek ur from birminghams or summat!!1!

  • no im from scotland, check out my other videos thanks!!!

  • tht ent satch's tone it sounded more like vai's to be honest with you mate

  • its good to hear peoples opinions! this is actually my old setup check out my other videos of my new jsx setup with gt-10 thanks

  • sexy socks

    x

  • thanks for your musical comment, check out my new amp setup its better !!!

  • love your socks men!!! lo;l

  • I have a fender amp and a ds1, it sounds great if you turn down the tone knob at 2 or 3 in the eq i use bass up at 8 and treble 4 the map has no middles so it`s great for clean tones.I also use boss dd3 a boss ch1 a digitech overdrive and a Cry baby. What do you think about my set up? Mi guitar is an Ibanez gsa 60 (hss). Thanks from argentina

  • cool

    keep rockin

  • So don't get Joe S. new vox pedal, just get a ds-1 boss pedal?

  • i already have a boss ds-1 but i find it a little thin compared to the amps warm distortion so i don't use it much

  • Just...SHOW!

  • can the valveking get quiet enough for bedroom practice also?

  • i no longer own a valveking, although you can get the volume quite low for practice

  • To much bass on the cleans, but other then that its ok.

  • i think he has it set that way because a ds1 is very shrill especially if you dont have a lot of bass set on your amp.

  • YOUR COMPLETELY CORRECT, I did probably set the bbass a little too high because of the distortion being a bit thin. I use a peavey jsx amp for distortion now so the clean can work indepedently and the amps channels are very sweet and responsive, i have posted a video of it check it out

    rock on!!

  • lmfao I cat beleive they put thumbsdown for your comment hahahhah

  • lol they're just gelous of my superb huristic intelligence , i'm a roflcopter commanderLOL read this while listening from 0:50 to 1:20 and you'll notice a kind of seriousity LOLOL

  • i don't get what your trying to say

  • this was a response to christan bean... the story is: they down thumbed my comment, and that was hiliarius( la parola huristic è un errore, significa humoristic)

  • lmfao hahahahaha that actually made me laugh I was reading it and was like wtf! ahaha

  • im going to get a gt10 soon. Do u think that it will be better to add a ds1 to it, just like u? (i know u have gt6 but i dont think theres much difference in distortion between gt6 and gt10)

  • from what iv'e heard from the gt-10 the distortions are similar to gt-6 because of them being simulated digital dounds, i would always recommend a distortion stomp box over multi effects and over stomp boxes valve amp distortion. try putting a ds-1 through the gt-6 external effects loop that way you can control it via the gt-6 pedals and put it in various orders in your chain of effects on the gt-6

  • nice one dude,,,,,5 stars from me,,,do a satch song with it all now.....socks

  • check out my new setup !! i got a jsx head its ultimate sweetness!!

    rock on !!!

  • whoa it's "The attack of the black sock"!

  • your sound is crappy

  • this is my old setup, and its far from crappy for a portable setup, boy

  • thats not a crappy setup...its an awesome one. let me guess...you play a squier and the only song you can play is smells like teen spirit. NARLY! not!

  • chorus and phaser

  • wad are de effects for 'rock you like a hurricane'?

  • distortion and a little delay

  • fretpick

  • lol why do you keep posting comments saying "fretpick"?

  • Promotional purposes. ;-)

  • Lol. Fair enough.

  • good to hear a fellow scot on here keep up the good work mate

  • Maybe you should be just a engineer and not a player.

  • ummm the satriani guitar i want it!!

  • i copy your setup exactly , except instead of boss GT6 I tried Rocktron Prophesy II , instead of your amp I have JSX head, and Ibanez js1200...yet yours sounds good and mine like thin shite.

    i just dont get it

  • i have a new simpler setup now with my jsx head that doesnt require stomp pedals just ampS DISTORTION and gt6. Ill put a video explaining how soon ( youll see how buying the amp was worth it with a few teaks here and there) the key is in the eq settings

  • thats a sweet sound , so you simply connect your boss GT thing to the JSX and attach pedals for extra effects? I'm really keen to know since i have a jsx head but sounds nothing like that when I plug n play...which annoys me after paying out for it!

  • i have a new simpler setup now with my jsx head that doesnt require stomp pedals just ampS DISTORTION and gt6. Ill put a video explaining how soon ( youll see how buying the amp was worth it with a few teaks here and there)

  • I might have to buy a GT6 (or GT8 now) so I can try your setup and cross fingers..the pod x3 bean and rocktron prophesy II I have make horrible sounds.

  • the problem with the pod x3 is that it is an amp modeller with effects, the gt-6 is more of a multi-effects pedal more suited to using with an amps distortion and channels etc. plus the peavey jsx has a line out so you can plug it into a hi-fi to play without a cabinet unlike many valve amps, which is good for home practice. :)

  • mi associo a 12brain12...bei calzini!!! me li presti?XD cmq bella strumentazione...me la presti? ciao

  • ti posso prestare l'amificatore dato che ho comprato un peavey jsx amp

    a dopo

  • yup i currently have my js1200 through the POD X3 (comfortably numb setting with some delay and lots of gain) into the jsx head clean channel bass/mid/treble all set half way. Seems to sound ok but this fellas tone sounds better , the POD X3 doesn't have send in/outs BUT effects could be in the JSX's send in/out .. I want to add my Keeley Boss DS-1 to the mix but wouldn't know how with my current setup to sound good..if you could post a video that possibly includes POD X3 too that'd be so cool.

  • nice socks

  • i think i get that guitar to

  • what model crybaby do you have? is it the orignal, the classic, or the 535q? I'm using the wylde wah, but it's a little extreme. your wah sounds amazing.

  • its a gcb-95 wah , i thinks its a standard model

  • Many Cool Effect Pedals. I have the same Crybaby. Pls check my Guitar setup. ;D

  • i don't just use delay and eq, my setup is so that i can go from 4 effects to 1 by pushing one pedal on the gt-6, so multiple pedals are no good for as i am also the singer and dont have time while performing to push 4 pedals from verse to chorus. i will be doing a new video explaining how i connect my equipment soon,

    rock on!!

  • dude why use the gt-6 for delay and eq only? why dun just get the boss dd-20 man. you're like underutilizing the gt-6. gt-6 distortions are good too man. you're like kinda wasting space on ur pedal board haha.

  • I play in a alternative rock band and need lots of different saved patches and banks. with different combinations of delay,eq,tremolo, phaser, flanger, reverb, whammy pedal etc(the only gt-6 effect i dont touch are the distortions cos digital distortion has no presence and sounds awful)

  • oh i see. hmm but the gt-6 and 8 distortions are pretty good! haha.

  • i will shorty post a new video of how i connect my gear and why

  • how have you got this set up dude, how are they all connected??

  • nice socks!

  • great, well we can always improve. check out my other videos fro some live performances of my sound and band, rock on !!!

  • dude! you suck! give me your set up...

  • wish i had the money as soon as u get the pedals u get the sound , and ppl say its in the fingers i dnt see ow if ur playin it on a shitty litle marshall pocket amp:P

  • it does come from the fingers

if you give an awesome guitarist shitty gear its gonna sound pretty good because pedals and amps modify the tone but the true tone of a guitarist comes from the hands and the soul

  • not true...

Once you get a tube amp...you can play one single note and sound great.

  • so u think joe satriani and steve vai and john petrucci only sound good because of their tube amps

  • no but why do all the pros use tubs amps? think about it? You don't see Eric Johnson, Joe Satriani, Guthrie Govan, Brett Garsed, Neil Zaza, etc. using solid state amps.

  • duh cuz they are better i use one too

but their tone isnt from their amps as much as its from their fingers

  • if your like me,crap at floor multi affects units.try a line6 flextone111 amp,i have one there great and easy to use all the affects on it are mint and easy to use.the reverb is totaly unreal

  • some of the factory settings are great but i wanna create my own.this sounds great

  • wow _i think with all this thing anybody be god

  • grazie.

  • kick ass man

  • ive bought a boss gt6.havent got a clue how to use it

  • i hear you, i have the same problem, i have found a dvd tutorial but its like 30 bucks :(

  • you start playing crush of love

    my fav song to play

  • see the problem with using external distortion pedals is when you use 2 @ the same time (1 for rythm and add 1 for lead) you get low frequency noises which are really noticable on single coil pickups. i put the external pedals through the NS LOOP then the NS output into the gt-6 input, that signal then goes into the gt-6 eq then subsequent effects in the desired order, digital distortion is terrible although the other effects are great on the gt-6, enjoy!!!

  • bel sono bel setup ma tiratela meno

  • very nice sound dude...one question, how do you to connect the boss GT-6 with the external pedals ??

  • excellent execution of the sock wah technique

  • Fuking good sound

  • Very cool sound my brother.....that helps me I have a JS 1000 and Js 100.....thanks that sounds very cool

  • when ur doin satch tone arounrd 2:30, it is chourus, delay and distortion or what?

  • i am using, boss ds-1, boss, sd-1, delay 300-400ms and the boss ns as 2 stomp boxes running at the same time can be noisy. the gt-6 is only used for eq and delay. thanks

  • cool sound

  • lol i just left a comment on another clip complaining because no one had any satch or even non metal like clips. and this was the next vid down

  • Nice socks :D

  • Heh, I have JS100 and Boss GT-6. Isn't that an amazing couple?

    Enjoy.

  • yes it is. if wana slightly improve your sound pop some dimarzio pickups on the js100 rock on
