I loved the COunt until the episode where he sent Albert back to Earth. At first I thought he was genuinely crying, and it made me like him even more. BUT THEN HE WASN'T CRYING. HE WAS LAUGHING HIS DAMNED BLUE ASS OFF.
:D Nice video. :) If you like to play video games etc. You should check out a geekgoddessink, that is a web address, it is a calendar for anime, video games, steam punk, and other cool geeky themes my friend and I are doing :) Would love to have you as a fan on our facebook page.
You should play this with the sound turned off. Then 19 sec into the vid play the "quasi improvisation of itsumo nando". Type whats in quotes into your search box. Anyway I love this anime and the count and albert are cute!!!
I completely disagree. I mean, Albert's love for the Count goes WAY deeper than just hero worship. The emotional climax of the series is when Albert kisses him, and (quite literally) melts the Count's heart. If that's not shonen-ai, I don't know what is.
well, that was not a Yaoi-pinky-flowerish-bouche-a-bouche kiss, it was a gentle, pittyful/friendly kiss on the cheek, as if Albert felt sorry for what happened to Edmond in the past. He understood the pain, the agony and re-humanised Gankutsuou. He made Edmond the person he was, releasing him from the curse (synonym to the grudge he had). There are more metaphores, if you observe, and the most plausible fact is that YAOI WAS NOT INTENDED! no yaoi in the original novel :p, none here.
@papercotton: yes there is no suggestions of Albert and the Count being gay in the novel. But this anime isn't exactly going by the book. As you can obviously tell by the futuristic take on it and a few small details. But It really just depends on the viewer. I'm sure the Director of this anime new what his intentions were with the "questionable" scenes between the count and Albert but left it up to the viewer to decide what they saw and interpret it on their own. For me, I saw a love connection
Albert feels secured around him because of his authority and aura of mistery. + The Count helps him a lot, so Albert feels the need to reward him somehow.
"a tribute to Albert [and] the count and their strange relation (with a bit of yaoi, I think lol)" I know, huh? Albert is so gay for the Count. Like the scene in the Count's ship when Albert is crying and saying how he feels for the Count. It seemed like a love confession. Not to mention the end when Albert hugs the Count then kisses him. That part took me by surprise. Oh, great video too.:)
Hi! ..haha XD...i´m agree with you, many scenes from the anime seems to be shounen ai between the count and Albert (mostly by Albert)...or between Franz and Albert (in one of those scenes, Maximilian is talking with Franz about "a platonic love" and then Franz reacted like his platonic love was Albert XD)
The director has stated in a few interviews that he the implications that Franz was in love with Albert were completely intentional. A one-sided FranzxAlbert is canon.
It would seem that way, but your wrong. Albert is very much a "kid" like character in this series and loved the count in other ways, but not the one everyone wants. haha... but you must not have seen the "Embrace" scene, Albert hugs, the count and stands on his toes to kiss him on the cheek, to show him that their friendship is real and that he cares for the count. This brings, the count back to life, turning him back to Edmond Dante.
Sort of.The directors have stated that they meant forFranz (the blonde) to be in love with Albert, and there are some definite implications between the Count and Albert, but it's mostly just vague undertones. At the end, however, there is a kiss.
I like it very much! Ahhh, why did it have to be such a sad story (for me, at least). I don't know the lyrics, but the music seems very fitting! Good job!

I love the deeply yaoi relationship in the anime, espcially since they hardly know each other in the original book XD

i don't think it's yaoi... albert was just naive and young. He liked the count because he was kind with him on Luna...
