  • I truely got the story of my life out of this.

  • Beautiful display of character, art, power, peace and balance...just the way life should be lived. Bravo Ethan...Bravo

  • I think this has a beautiful relationship between the performer and the cyr wheel and you can see how he really explores the object and creates a narrative in some ways and i actually prefer this as a whole routine more than the cirque du soleil one! great work!

  • Oh man, this is ever so beautiful, I loved every single second of it!

  • Five minutes of chills all the way up my spine, and through my arms. That's not a wheel. That's a dance partner.

  • That was so peaceful, I totally relaxed watching it...thanks, it was amazing!

  • I just wanna know what song is playing...

  • Seamless, flowing, and an absolute pleasure to watch!! Excellent choice of music as well. It's so haunting and beautiful. Who is it by?

  • There's some real science in this shit right here...

  • What is the hoop made of? which is its size? I've been practicing but with the little sized one, i want to try and practice with that one, its just... beautiful.

  • @SunFireDragon Well, There is nothing bad about working in a circ... If you do what you love the rest doen't really matter..

  • @32499m Never said there was anything wrong with being in a circ or working on the side of the road, I said it was sad. Art simply isn't as beloved as it use to be.

  • @SunFireDragon That isn't not really true, but glad you enjoyed it.

  • @SunFireDragon i don't think that he'd have enough room on the side of the road to do this...

  • @SunFireDragon So sweet of you to care if he gets any money.

  • I am so dizzy now!!!

  • esto lo vi en se vale jajajaaj

  • I can easily say this is the best man I've ever seen using a large hoop as a form of entertainment.

  • Beautiful!

  • this reminds me of south park

the episode with kyles weird cousin and mr mackey getting pissed at the airline companies

    anyone?? lol

  • @23181329 hahaha... definitely know what you are talking about...

  • 14 people should have just rolled with it.

  • this is really beautiful and amazing.

  • Awesome.

  • It's like Ixion, from Greek myth.

  • that guy just made sweet love to that hop, bathed the moonlight with violins in the background. he took its virginity.

  • I think that was the sexiest thing i have ever seen, the only thing that could ruin it is if that man was straight );

  • holy SHIT

  • such beauty, such control...

  • That was really beautiful, I feel like the visual asthetics of Ethan's performance were really complimented with the music.

As for the clapping and cheering, I think it would've encouraged the artist, we're only irritated because we are watching by ourselves. It's interesting that If there were an upbeat track playing with the piece I don't think we would've minded so much.

But, that completely defeats his creative intention.

  • While applause can be annoying sometimes its definitely a good thing. I don't know how many people have ever watched the activity of winter guard but when the group does something impressive there is cheering, this is true even in Jazz music for soloists. Personally as a performer I feed off the crowds energy, I don't rely on it but its a good thing to have.

  • @DSAEVMISDEM

I'm in winterguard and I know what you mean! It's great to get applause, you need the feedback from the audience to get you pumped. I remember at a show a few weeks ago the crowd would not stop cheering so loudly after we caught out rifle five, and we couldn't hear the music to go on and it happened again during the ballad. Pro; let's you know the show is good and the audience loves what you're doing. Con; harder to concentrate and hard to hear music.

  • @dancerlove941 I am also in winter guard. Our team craves applause. My coach always says we should know the timing well enough to know where the song is, even if we can not hear it.

  • Great performance, but I couldn't help getting distracted by wondering how many times he ran over his hands with the wheel during practice.

  • These people are so ignorant! I'd have definitely stopped the performance and asked them to be quiet.

  • i SOOO want a giant metal ring!

  • I WANT A GIANT HOOLAHOOP! :D

  • yea but can he hoolahoop?

  • I like the howler monkeys that give approval every time he does a good move.

  • two words. Marry. Me. no three words. Marry. Me. NOW!!!

  • IMPRESSIONANTE!!

  • AMAZING!

  • so amazing!!!

  • Very cool. I loved it. I wish I could do that.

  • i wish i knew that name of the songs playing in the backround

  • @elishadorsey in the description

  • WOW, love it!!!

  • amazing

  • wow. beautiful. thank you!

  • oh yes i now forever love stumbleupon

  • thank you, StumbleUpon

  • @frogreader16 you, too!

  • Nice ring stuff, but he's wearing far too much clothing for this to be really interesting.

  • @perkodanny Actually, I find it more interesting that he is wearing street clothes. It's brings a different mood to the piece.

  • Inspired by the Sims 2.

Just kidding. This is really amazing and mesmerizing.

  • The Physical strength, stamina and control he has to do that.....astounding...You have to have complete control of that ring the entire time, otherwise you fall flat on your face.

    Well done Sir, well done.

  • that was an astonishingly good performance, so creative and beautiful

  • Very nice! Thank you!

  • This is incredible! :D

  • One word: Beautiful :D

  • this is art

  • So beautiful ... So fluid! What a talented man. I just wish the crowd didn't go "Whoo!", "Wuh" or make other annoying noises and just appreciated this gentle art in the silence of their own minds.

  • @kbs1212 I agree! It's like clapping after EVERY song at a symphony... there are appropriate times to clap and innapropriate times.

  • @laurenwhit279 Exactly right!

  • This is so amazing! <3

  • mesmerising.. i kept nearly falling asleep while watching this..- but not in a bad way (:

  • lok im higher than fuck......but that might just be the coolest frucking thig i have ever seen!

  • This took my breath away.. THanks so much!

  • im not saying it doesnt look hard, but it looks like a lot of fun!

  • Bravo!

  • This should be an Olympic Sport.

  • I just had sex

  • @ilovehaloh nice. >high five<

  • you need a night-time show (use glue-sticks and cool night vision goggles.

    It will be awesome...

  • What's strange is that I just got home from seeing Cirque le Masque where I saw a man do an act like this. I explore with Stumbleupon, and it brings me here. :] Incredible.

  • @torithetigerftw i just saw this at Cirque du Soleil! Crazy awesome stuff.

  • How does he fit that ring in his Prius?

  • Stumbled from Virginia :]

  • great job!!!!

  • May your future be bright ! Thanks for great performance...

  • yes

  • the ring is still spinning in the end!!

    INCEPTION!!!

  • how did you become to be able to do this, did you try it once, or were you really just so bored you though it was fun and now have a made a rt form and a contemporary dance. it is amazing the music is just Perfect. and how there is no other sound coming from you or the large metal ring. i was also wondering what was the metal ring made out of? and did you make it.

big thanks dude real nuts video.

  • awesome

  • They see me rolling..

  • That ring is his only friend.

  • He must be super dizzy after this presentation.

  • This is freakin incredible.

  • how did he not get dizzy!?!?!?!?!??!

  • that was hot

  • Retarded audience...

  • Looks like a fake to me

  • @b000mshank

    You're an idiot.

  • Мина доста време от пътуването ни из Чехия, престоя ни в прекрасния национален парк

  • Wow. Beautiful...

  • I really feel like telling those people to shut up while he's performing. First off, he needs to concentrate. Second, he's playing music for a reason; no only so you can hear it, but he needs to be able to hear it as well. And lastly, It's just proper etiquette. You don't see people clapping in the middle of a damn symphony.

  • @Wiisal It is however proper etiquette to give applause after a solo in a jazz piece. Given this is neither a symphony or a jazz piece I don't think it matters.

  • @Wiisal said the same thing to myself -.-

  • @Wiisal Real performers know to expect anything from the crowd

  • @Wiisal

I agree, it is extremely annoying and rude. The crowd must have thought of him as a circus clown, and not an artist, but that says nothing about his artistic value, it's only an indicator of the audience's culture. Sadly, a great performance has been ruined by morons screaming "Yeah!!" and alikes.

  • @persa1709 This video was taken at the Ecole Nationale du Cirque, one of the most prestigeous circus arts schools in the world. That audiance was full of students of equal caliber, if anyone knows what they were watching or what the appropriate response was, it's the group in that video.

  • @zebg832

    facepalm :D

  • @zebg832

they still ruin it for me, tho

  • @persa1709 ...and others. This was a performance at the Circus School in Montreal and the audience are his fellow students. Their applause is certainly not disrespectful - they are simply showing support and enthusiasm for his act.

  • @Wiisal Absolutely he deserves the space to concentrate but how many people are raised in the presence of a man inside a ring. Moreso... how many shows are there in popular media that don't encourage moronic clapping about the simplest and most difficult tasks. It seems difficult to appreciate anything without reminding the world that we are there along for the ride....

  • @Wiisal in these kinds of performances, it's not necessarily inappropriate to applaud/clap after a high-level technique is shown. this is completely different than listening to a symphony performance. take for example, figure skating. people roar after quadruples or triple axel, triple toe loops combinations... there are so many other types of performances like these.

besides, it's not like they're clapping loudly and constantly. and i'm sure he can count the tempo in his own head.

  • @Wiisal Actually, depending on the venue, you do indeed hear people clapping in the middle of a symphony. Because they're idiots.

    Which proves your point.

  • @Wiisal Yup, it's not a football game.

  • @Wiisal except sometimes it is appropriate like in a ballet when there is a very impressive lift or the dancer does a crazy amount of pirouettes or something, the audience often claps at that point to show their appreciation for that move and not just the performance as a whole

  • @Wiisal Chizzle, in this instance, may in fact pay the bizzles.....

  • @Wiisal

There's no such thing as audience etiquette anymore. People don't appreciate live events as much anymore and they don't give a damn about anyone but themselves.

  • less lame music please. only thing from stopping this video from being mindblowing is that it's not synced to crazy cool music.

  • @TheSpiderZen if you want "crazy cool music" to this, go look at another video. Me, i'll stick with the beautiful simplicity of this one.

  • stumbled. amazing. I want one of those hoop thingys

  • Imagine all the crushed fingers and toes he had to endure while learning his art.

  • This hurts it's so beautiful. Wow. Just thank you.

  • pls people shut the fuck up while performing!

  • Fake. He was using the Force. You can't do that with this

  • mine craft music? lol

  • @CykoMelody XD hahahahaha no, but i love the reference

  • @Gogglesonme it hella sounds like it... stupid chickens poped up in my head when i heard this song >.>

  • That´s one for the Cirque du Soleil for sure...

  • sex with hoop, just fuck it cool ;)

  • at first I was like ....

    but then I enjoyed it

  • I simply don't get it!

  • 2 people are blind and were offended by random clapping and cheering.
