People do not understand there are already about 7 or 8 nuclear plants within 100 miles of PHilly. We need nuclear plants, and other clean technology. I prefer not to have global warming in the next hundred years. We have never had a nuclear disaster in the u.s. And 3 mile was the closest we ever came. These plants are very safe.
I admire scientific progress with the best of us, but how do we dispose of the atomic waste which is produced by these places? It takes thousands of years to become 'safe'... not a very pleasant legacy for our offspring.
We all joke about Limerick, that the people there can just hold a light bulb in their hand and it will light and stuff like that. But we'd all be a lot better in this country if there were 100 more power plants like this making cheap, clean energy. Their safety record is exemplary, they've gotten better over the years at making these places safe, and we need them. And let's start drilling in Anwar too.
