@Noobkilla99786 well certainly Venus has lots of higher grounds and plenty of Air, unfortunately the air on Venus is suffucating Carbon Dioxide (CO2), and the temperature on Venus is 470 degree Centigrade with a crushing pressure 95 times that of Earth pressure, so Venus despite its name of Goddess of Love, is a hellish place in the Solar System.
@KurdstanPlanetarium Is there any livable area on Venus that we could like Populate? I have heard before about floating cities, but that sounds futuristic, stupid, and alot of money.....
@Noobkilla99786 yes there are only on top of the Sulpheric Acid clouds (60 Km) above the surface, there conditions are more Earth like in terms of Temp and Pressure, and some scientists thinking of using it to terrafoming Venus by injecting Algae (Green mose), that have capabilities to live on CO2 and giving back O2 in return, so over eons this might be the way to reduce CO2 and ease the Green house effect, make it Venus and Earth Like planet, who knows?
@KurdstanPlanetarium That would be awesome! I dont see why we dont do that now! Oh yeah thats right, the planet is years away, our spaceships are too slow, and i just think it would cost alot of money. (Everything related to astronomy is always money! >.<)
@hotboyclarence well as you know the names of all features on Venus apart from one is all female names taken from Ancient Mythogloies to modern famouse female names
the name Atla derived form the Norse Giantess, mother of Heimdall
Regio is meaning Region.
Atla Regio is located at Lat: 9.2 N , long: 200.1 E and its size is 3200 Km
@KurdstanPlanetarium thank you. i thought it was typo, because it is so close to a meaningful latin compound, Alta Regio. but as you say, it is the name of some norse deity...
yes Venus has not just many but huge Volcanoes, due to its thick atmosphere smaller impacting bodies disintigrate before reaching the surface thats why on Venus you cant see Volcanos smaller then 15 km in diameter, Sapas mons that you see here is 400 km wide volcano, imagine that...
I have heard before, there is some areas on venus where its higher ground and grass, and possibly air, is this true? Like in this video?
