I wrote Mr. Pitts that he is the "standard by which great journalists ought be measured". I find him beyond outstanding, but a rare master of articulation of social reality. Doesn't seem arrogant to me, but justified arrogance---the type that is not accompanied by ignorance---is okay. Perhaps, though, I planted yet one more seed if that's true :)
He can come off as arrogant sometimes, but damn, is he GOOD. I've been reading him for over 10 years, and it's eerie how on almost every single topic he writes about, he reflects exactly what I was thinking.
He's a rare example of empathy and SANITY in this toxic media environment. Kudos, Mr. Pitts (even though I know yer not reading this!)
He is dismissive of whitey.

I love that man.
