  • needs motor mounts

  • Sounds hella sexy! 4AGE is the sh!t.

  • I like in a small town in The US and we don't have emissions, only the cities around us.

  • Thé best engine sound of thé best 1.6 engine in the world...ever!

  • Those ITBs always give me the creeps at high RPMs

  • video is busted was looking forwar 2 thi i want to do this swap just wondering does the engine mount fit everything bolt on probly? and does the ac have to be taken out or will it fit on that one as will? i want to use this a day to day car so im hoping to use ac and coise control

  • Engine mounts are exactly the same if you swap from a 4A engine to the Blacktop 20v. I'd replace them for new mounts though.. I can't answer your questions regarding aircon. and/or cruise control because I didn't have those options on my AE92.

  • out of curiosity and because i don't know, why would you replace them old mounts for new ones? just so they are new or is there more to it?

  • The insulators wear out over time.. especially on cars like these which are at least 17 years old now. There's too much play in the mounts, you can see the engine moving about in the video.. that's not good. Solid mounts keep the engine in it's place plus the gearbox, worn mounts can lead to bad shifting and cracked mounts.

  • was this the ae101 or ae111? dumb question. whats the difference between the two?

  • This was the ae92 :) differences..there are plenty :) Do you mean body-wise, or technical, like engine/drivetrain ?

  • Im sorry I wasn't specific. I meant is the engine an ae101 or ae111 and what were the differences. I have a 91 rolla of my own which is crying out for another engine. I thought it would be fun to put something else in it. YOu said that ae101 wasn't much different other than changing the mounts. Whats the difference between the ae101 and 111?

  • @Michel4AGE was it hard to pass emission (that is if you live in the USA) or did you have trouble?

  • @TheMyelement I live in Holland and passing emissions was never a problem :)

  • so are you saying you just dropped the engine in without any additional emission equipment?

  • @TheMyelement

That's correct. I dunno anything about US emission regulations so it might be very different from Dutch regulations.. but here you don't have to worry so much about emissions, especially when owning a car which is built before 1993/1994. My AE92 was from 1989.. so piece of cake.

  • well making mine pass emission is going to suck

    thx man for the info

  • How did you do the wiring? Did you have a company do the wiring harness or just cut and tape them together or what?

  • LOL is 92 no 86 xD

  • LOVE 86's sound *-*

    Is perfect

  • good Camera position!!!

    very nice sound!

    and good long video !!!

  • How difficult is the wiring? I've always wanted to do this swap.

  • Nope I didn't, should be much better with some cold air feed though especially when used on trackdays / spirited driving.. maybe not so much in a ae86 where the intake gets a bit colder air but with fwd (opening stacks pointing towards firewall) it can get pretty warm. I was thinking about 2 pipes from behind the grille leading to the itb's, should be suifficient ? I dunno about a scoop on the hood, looks lame in my opinion :)

  • Have you tried to back to back runs with stock intake and the TechnoToy stacks for comparison? That's a good power increase, but the exhuast would have helped as well. I'm looking at doing the came conversion and wnat to know if the stacks are a good mod. Good work dude!

  • Nope sorry haven't done that but I've seen other people who done that and the gains should be around 5~8whp depending on length and intake temperatures.

  • That's great. I'm looking to buy some 105mm stacks, but they can be shortened. so, I think I'll start with them and see what sort of gains I get. How do you feed air into the stacks with your bonnet closed? I'll possibly be putting a bonnet scoop on to feed into an air box. Do you use any ducting or anything?

  • stupid reply function refuses te finction properly sometimes. See reply on your question up there ^^

  • music to my ears!!

  • hooo !! love that sound.

if only my red top had 20 and not 16.

    but mine sounds good too.

    thanks for dream

  • you need some new motor mounts....

  • Sounds beautiful, nice numbers as well!

That car is extremely rare over here.

  • is it modded?

  • 2,5" catback and 75mm stacks, thus running without airbox

  • nice job man.. i have the same car too but i put a 3sgte in it =)

that engine of yours is very rare in my country, it's only 4/5 engines here that i know.. one of them is in my friend's car.. but it's bone stock.

nice car and engine of yours, can't wait to see the progress..

  • its a very good job!thanks for video

  • +/- 145whp

  • how much power u makin??

  • Lekker soepeltjes ;)
