@sgknexmaker As a Chef Instructor, I would never recommend anything to a student that I do not use. This knife is great. I have used mine for over 3 years, I grab it for specific tasks, watch my recent pineapple video. To wash this knife it takes only running water, nothing sticks to it. Buy it @ Chef Depot . c o m, call and mention your a Culinary Student for a discount.
@chefgiovanni well i HAD to get the Dexter Russell for school. it was a requirement. I like a few of them. and they hold an edge fairly well. but ive been moving more towards Henkels and Calphalon.
@out2kill3652b OK, you should seriously get quality knives. The two you mentioned above both make crap in 3rd world countries. Can you imaging using a knife made from a recycled car door and recycled soup cans? Contact the Chefs @ Chef Depot, tell them your a student and get an instant discount and free shipping.
@chefgiovanni i see. I also have a kyocera ceramic knife which i love but i dont use it too often. i'll def have to contact them next time im purchasing knives
What's your opinion on the Kasumi Titanium 8" chef knife for culinary school?

@out2kill3652b Those are cheap foodservice knives, go with Mundial, better warranty and very similar.
