I am sorry, but It mostly depends on, witch console did u use in the past (before ps3 and Xbox 360), so if u used the ps2 then u would choose for the ps3, and the same goes for the Xbox

@OMFGZpeanutz well, since the game wasn't designed for PC in the first hand (and no PC specific content was added), the texture resolutions won't ever be better than in the console versions, of course on a decent PC framerate will never be an issue, but the game won't really play or look any different.

@903harman If we were talking The Witcher 2, Crysis or Battlefield 3, or any other game that was built to take advantage of modern PC hardware I'd be all with you. But the fact stands that you can't make low res assets get more detail by increasing the rendering resolution. Borderlands was made for consoles and never got any high resolution patches (or mod support), thus there's a certain point where you can't get any more out of it.

@903harman also, antialiasing is only useful if you play in low resolution, or in a resolution that's not divisible by the recommended monitor resolution (resulting in the pixels getting stretched irregularly), anything above 4x AA is pretty much useless if you play at the highest supported resolution of your monitor.

@baneofzakhaev it looked like the PS3 version used slightly higher resolution textures in the opening wideshot, but this is probably after letting the game stream in the textures for a while. I suppose that's balanced out with how terrible the texture streaming in UE3 games works in general on the PS3, where it can take up to a minute for the engine to render the textures in their full resolution (UE3 textures works by first loading a low res version and streaming in details over time).

@MrCurtishall i agree with everything you said except what hdcable. hdmi is a digital signal and does not suffer from signal degradation depending on the quality of the cable. That's simply not how hdmi works - you either get the full quality picture, or non at all, there is no in between. Google it if you are interested in the technical details. Of course there are still plenty of factors that do make a difference like you said.

That is why only ps3's exclusives look as nice as they do cause they actually take advantage of what it has to offer.
