  • @haidakaraishiteru i dont care

  • 6:02 they already hate themselves

  • black people are naive

only light skin blacks get any love like will smith usher beyone fact

  • also its not the first time they did blackface on korean tv

leader of girls generation even hates blacks wtf

  • koreans will always be racist towards blacks

i got treated like crap down there

  • we didn't ask for black people to watch our programs ok whores

  • @nominwoo437, Dude don't you have a KKK rally to go to? Well for you to call these young ladies "Whores" is uncalled for and you don't even know the definition of what a "Whore" is

You're a racist douche bag, if you think you're so great what are you doing to better yourself? Are you studying to be a Doctor, Lawyer, or a Chemist? Nope you're just sitting in your trailer trash talking basically being a bum. So look at who's the loser

  • @nominwoo437 what's wrong with you? it's people like you who make society crap.

  • And you look like this to me

  • Stfu he's great and beautiful

  • @nominwoo437 he may be beautiful and an amazing performer but you have to acknowledge what these girls are saying.. seriously. having good looks doesn't excuse hurtful and offensive behaviour. -.-' so don't tell them to shut up. I love kikwang but I agree this was really wrong and I can understand the fact that people are offended. I know it may be difficult to admit that a person you thought perfect makes big mistakes sometimes, but your argument is just childish. grow up.

  • @nominwoo437 not the best argument

  • aww...I like kikwang.....and I dont eat watermelons 0_0. I feel so bad for him...and all kpop artist...their like slaves to their company...I dont think hes a racist so, I still like him. And sadly, I honestly believe racism will never end....ever. :(

  • @YounngRose he chose to do it

  • @FIGHTFANNERD3 Well...thats different...

  • In my opinion for a joke to be funny it needs to have context, something that's thought provoking or makes you realize a fault in something, this is one of the reasons I didn't find the "hey hey its saturday" sketch funny cause it just wasn't funny and didn't deal with any issues, "was it in bad taste?" that's a matter of opinion.

what I'm trying to say is anything can be funny with good context, "will blackface ever be funny?" I guess that's just a matter of time for the right joke/sketch.

  • why dont u two black chicks make a video when shaquille o'neal made racial slurs by saying chink chong chink chang regarding yao ming? do that if u want to act all equal and racist is wrong.

  • @kimaste No one said shaquille o'neal was right for doing that, this video isn't about him. Maybe you should read the top comment by KikoDrive. Racism is wrong period no matter who it's directed towards. Bringing up another case of racism isn't going to make this situation right. The point of the video is understanding the problem with blackface.

  • @Jazzy115 this video isnt about shaq? no shit sherlock! way to miss the point. these two took it upon themselves to make this video trying to make a point that racism is wrong based on their race. if you want to come off as equal and unbias, make a video about shaq or others that came off as a racist as well and how it was wrong. then maybe, their message, racism is wrong period no matter who it's directed towards as u put it, might be taken seriously.

  • @kimaste Shaq is completely irrelevant to what there talking about. Whether or not he did something racist is not a justification for Kikwang's actions. It would be random to bring. If you want to talk about Shaq I'm sure there's a video on it. Bringing it up here is just as way for to pull the blacks do it too card.Where in this video did anyone say it was okay to make fun asians? And most people are taking them seriously how you choose to interpret the video is up to you.

  • @Jazzy115 what these two girls are doing is classic al sharpton approach. when there is racism towards blacks, sharpton blasts them on t.v and in the meida as you should cause we all agree that racism is wrong right? but when a black person is the one that is being racist, sharpton disappears from the planet. he is nowhere to be found. now you read in to that how ever you want but do the math,

  • @kimaste soo.. you're basically saying you can't talk about racism against your own race and make a point without talking about racism against other races?

    sounds logical..?!

  • i know im late but does anyone know were i can find the video??

  • So I watched the video showing KiKwang in blackface and yeah it was wack. Fuck the writers of that show man. Never seen such poor taste. Basically they made KiKwang up in blackface without him knowing what was going on. He laughed when he saw himself in a mirror and proceeded with the watermelon commercial. Yoon DooJoon came on the scene for a skit of not recognizing KiKwang in such a get-up making KiKwang frustrated. Anyway it was all really stupid. I'm glad that show isn't on the air anymore.

  • Funny how this vid has such low ratings when ya'll said nothing but the truth.

I was a big KiKwang fan ever since he was known as AJ. And of course when Beast debuted, he was my bias. But when I heard he did this, as one of his Black fans, I was so shocked and hurt. I couldn't even bring myself to watch the video (still haven't watched it). And I pretty much stopped listening to Beast's music for a long time. My Beast boycott is over but I'll never be able to look at LKK the same ever again.

  • Yup, blackface is racist. lol.

    yellowface is racist too.

    So is redface.

Why the low rating on the video then? Nobody is bashing Kikwang in the vid, they're just saying the incident was wrong. Wow, you fangirls are nuts if you can't agree with something so plain as day. o.O

  • @THISandTHISandTHAT TRUE. thank you for stating that. some people..

quote: "kikwang is great and beautiful, so stfu."

    *facepalm*

  • Comment removed

  • anyone can help me link me to that video? lol I can't find it

  • regardless of who's more racist than who Racism is wrong period & should not be tolerated in any race or form.

  • y dont people shut the fuck up and accept dat it was racist ...

  • @omonamag On the topic of the Asian student being alone without support, the area I live in happens to have a large Asian population. Most of them go to the same schools, so they do have support.

I don't know about other areas of the United States, but I do know that where I am there are few people who are bullied because of their race. I know for a fact that my two Asian best friends and sister aren't, neither are any of my black friends.

  • @omonamag I never said whites had it the worst. All I was doing was comparing your statement to what is going on at my school in particular. Those two girls are picked on because of their disabilities and looks, not race.

I also never said I knew what it feels like to be bullied, because I don't. I have been subject to rumors, but I've been able to push through it because I'm a stronger person than some. I'm glad that I have, I don't want to experience bullying and try not to bully others.

  • @omonamag The point I was trying to make is that there are more important things to be upset about.

I'm Caucasian, but why should that matter? My sister was adopted from China and so was my best friend. Just because I'm white doesn't mean I'm not stereotyped. A good example: I'm White and from the South, so I must be unintelligent 'white trash'.

As for kids getting bullied at school, the two most bullied kids at mine are both white. The people who bully them the most are Asian and Black.

  • @omonamag Even thinking in their shoes, I don't understand why they're protesting about something as stupid this when they could be protesting about the black man in Mississippi who was just murdered. That's something I can understand, that was just plain awful.

I'm not a racist person (I have many black friends whom I love), but I'm tired of hearing people complain about things that don't really matter.

  • @omonamag I never said it had to be liked, but it's not as bad as it used to be. Every race has had issues with it at one point or another, some just choose to complain about it more often. This particular video was people who took a joke too seriously, there was no point in them being offended.

  • @omonamag Actually America is a huge main power, thus even if you don't study it makes it known more. Racism is based on a race which is dominating over a oppressed race. So that really only counts towards whites on their minorities. I'm not saying it's an American problem. It's a world problem. Because Americans portray their minorities in these stereotypes other countries look up to it. As Europe also gave that thinking. And Europe back then was the "center of the world"

  • Wow smh at all the people who try to negate what you're trying to say by bringing up the oppression faced by Asian-Americans. It has nothing to do with it. What happened is a result of racism faced by black people in KOREA. No one is denying the fact that Asian-Americans get treated like crap in American media, but just because one type of oppression goes on doesn't cancel out another kind.

  • Instead of rationalizing and say well XYZ group does this to ABC group too (I'm mean how childish is this?), we need to educate people on WHY these sort of things are offensive and let it be known that such racist acts will not be tolerated. Sweeping things under the rug and saying "take it with a grain of salt" does absolutely nothing but perpetuates racism.

  • I always find it funny when people bring up other races. You are getting away from the point. The point is.. stereotypes are offensive. Whether it's black, asian, mexican, white.. anything.. it's not cool at all. Racism is racism, period. And the sooner people realize that it isn't different for every race, that racism hurts the same for everyone involved, the sooner we can all take action and do shit about it. We won't get anywhere being segregated like this.

  • Lon story short...society is fucked up and is never going to change sadly.

  • I have black friends. None of them are in a way "ghetto" and all those stereotypes. But when you watch TV people portray the African American to be loud, with nappy hair and big lips eating watermelon. The only thing that goes to Korea are those types of shows. What they should do is get education in stereotypes and in history such as the slave trade and the civil rights movement. Cause blackfacing has been so degrading. The ignorance of it is that they never studied it. Thus they find it funny.

  • Why is everyone on here trying to play the victim? The whole point is not who has more racism its why is there all this racism to begin with. Racism shouldn't be tolerated and its unfortunate that there still isn't more acceptance towards minorities(not even just talking about race). I think the whole blackface was a very VERY bad move and something that should't have been done especially when you don't know the history and are ignorant to the nature of it and how it can offend people.

  • You know, it's funny. When an Asian person (Kikwang) does blackface on TV (Hot Brothers), HOLY SHIT IT'S OFFENSIVE D: But when Zach Braff does it on TV (Scrubs), HOLY SHIT THAT'S FUNNY :D Riiiiiight. We all face this kind of stuff, African American, Asian, Middle Eastern, etc etc. People just need to learn how to take life with a grain of salt.

  • it was not fault...i live kroea and we not have black people in here...i am sory that you did not like what they do him...i have been to america and it so different than korea...we not have many black people here...it was a mistake because we not know...i sorry if it hurt you...i work for a modeling industry in korea...i have to do thing i not like but i not want to get yelled at...and same with kikwang

  • ok just to let u no he wasnt copying a sterio type he was copying a cartoon thats y he did the water melon thing because its part of the cartoon

  • So I am black and I really do not care because in all races there is some type of a predjudice. As long as we all can get together and hold hands we are all equal. I understands everybodies feeling but its nothing but jokes. Everybody makes jokes about other races. So lets not make a big deal out of it. Its just for laughs.

  • In my opinion I think that stereotypes affect people differently. Asians get the stereotype of being smart, speak with an accent, having slit eyes. Black people get the stereotype of being loud, lazy, angry, murderers, etc. Stereotypes against black people matter more because the consequences result from them are far WORSE than that of an Asian. Black people are less likely to get a job or advance because of the stereotypes against them. Being thought of as smart is an advantage, lazy isn't.

  • @DKamiSweet Yeah lol I couldn't agree with you more!!

  • I thnk tht u should watch the whole episode of hot brothers first before judging him ^_^ I'm not saying ths in a *bithy* way or anythng but PLZ just watch the whole episode of it when ths happened :)

  • I really like Beast and lee gi kwang, in fact he's my favourite member, so yeah it was a huge disappointment seeing him do that for a show, to make people laugh. But He is only doing what he was told to do, but STILL he did agree to do it didnt he?

It sucks, really it does. But to be fair, i have seen a LOT of white mockery of asians. All the time I see people painting their faces yellow and stretching their eyes going KONICHIWAA!! for tv or youtube or for a laugh, racism is everywhere :/

  • get over it

  • God. Racism exists everywhere and will never go away, so people are going to learn how to except it. Not necessarily like it, but except it. Every race has been made fun of at some point.

  • I understand the way you guys felt when this happened. But to make one thing clear, this was NOT Gikwang's fault. I saw this episode of Hot Brothers and It was all scripted. The directors planned it out and Gikwang was in the situation where he had to go along with it. Blame the directors and writers of the show for offending you guys, not Gikwang. As one of his fans, I'm very sad since he's getting all the blames when he didn't do anything but follow directions. And I'd like to say sorry as fe

  • You guys are pretty :) also I do agree with you. I don't know if I can say he was wrong because he might have thought even black people would laugh at it and maybe even the producers thought that.... But still, like you said they are still degrading the people that they are fans of, and should have known it would at least be a little offensive.

  • it really wasnt his fault these shows are usually scripted so yea......

  • Well truthfully it wasn't kikwangs fault because he didn't want to do it they made him do it so I don't really blame him for anything

  • you don't think asians get hate for being who they are?

there's all kinds of hate towards asians. when western culture do it, it's "hilarious" and "all in good fun" but when asians do it, when it wasn't even intended, it's socially unacceptable?

  • um.

the "stressful" situation thing? it wasn't painting his face black....

it was when he was making pots and stuff with a girl.

and she was getting "playful" and she decided to smear his face with the clay stuff.

so it got all over his face.

there was more on one side and the other..

so it looked like they painted his face black.

so.. you have no right to say that he's a racist.

  • @smileyfaceesther then why the fuck was he wearing an afro

  • i totally get your point and it was awful and wrong for the show to even THINK of doing something like that... but you cant blame kikwang, completely because those companies have MAJOR control over everything they do, its crazy, so it was wrong, but i feel bad for kikwng cuz he might not have known what he was doing, he probably felt bad for having to do it.

  • you see racism all over the world. why are you complaining about one thing? i mean i know you guys are hurt but there are others like asian, hispanic, white etc who get the same problem; Black people aren't the only ones who gets stereotyped. i mean you see everyone doing the slitty eyes and the chinese accents; when some of us aren't even freaking chinese. if you're really upset go tell the producers not us. what are we gonna do about it, if u complain to us?

  • @bLuEcL0uDsx3 This video is about blackface so thats what we are talking about. Just because we are talking about things that happen to us doesn't mean we don't care about racism towards other people. Were in this video does it suggest that?

  • 2/2 .ACTUALLY when B2ST came to L.A , there is a fancam i saw, where they're few BLACK PEOPLE in a hotel asking for his autograph and a picture, he is NICE APPROACHING THEM,even came to them with a smile,he even leave buying a food to eat just to entertain them, he is NICE person..so don't blame him it WASN'T HIS FAULT..peace all..

  • 1/2 YES..NOT KIKWANG'S FAULT..i watched the whole HOT BROTHER SHOW from Ep 1..and i can see how KIKWANG DO ALL THINGS that older brothers want him to do..he even get scolded that his not following instructions or doing things that he don't want to do!! (cause they want kikwang to do weird things) PITY on him..but since his the youngest of all of them he need to FOLLOW.

  • those producers. Especially with the contracts that many kpop artists are bound by, i doubt he had much room to refuse. Or maybe he simply wasn't aware of the offense that could be taken from the blackface. Either way we don't know the whole story and kikwang really isn't to blame.

  • I'm a black female and frankly, I don't see what all the fuss is about. i understand that blackface is extremely disrespectful to african americans, in any other situations i would have been so offended by something like this. But most likely than not the producers of this show were the ones behind this whole blackface idea, not kikwang. He really doesn't deserve all of this flack considering the producers of the show chose to add this to their segment. If anyone were to be blamed it would be

  • Comment removed

  • Lee Kikwang only did it because the producers TOLD HIM TO! HE DIDN'T PERSONALLY DECIDE TO DO IT! The PRODUCERS DID IT,SO BLAME THE PRODUCERS NOT KIKWANG!!!! Poor Kikwang getting blamed on for a scripted thing!!!! Its okay, haters can hate which absolutely does no effect to Kikwang and Aces, Royal Flushes, and B2UTIES, Keep supporting B2ST and AJ/ Lee Kikwang

  • wow i cant believed that he did that i dont know what to say and im black female and i love their music

  • ㅉㅉ걍 살아라 웃음을위한거지 흑인비하하려고 햇겠냐?이런걸갖고그랰ㅋㅋㅋ ㅡㅡ

  • Now, I have to say, I agree with you two here 100%.

Of course, all of the KiKwang fans are going to want to back him up and say that it's not his fault, and on and on about how people shouldn't hate on him. And yes, it's true, it probably wasn't his fault that he had to do such a thing; but at the same time, you guys aren't hating on him, and that's pretty obvious.

Kudos to you guys, for speaking your mind, but doing in a way that was far from hateful.

  • two wrongs, people... never make a right. regardless of how you feel about AMERICANS or BLACKS, let's remember that the answer is not "let's get them back." if someone is offended, apologize and never criticize them for being offended. if i said something mean or offensive about you, you'd want an apology, right? it's okay for black people to be offended about this; after all, it has it's roots in an offensive art form.

  • He didn't do it because he wanted to. He did it because it was part of the sketch. He's a rookie idol and being so young and new in the industry, he has to do whatever he is told. Trust me, Asians are strict about this hierarchy thing. Also, Koreans arn't like Americans or whatever. It's not like they have diverse race over there. They arn't well versed in Afroamerican/African history. Plus he was dressing up as a Dooly character, Michael, it's not to stereotype or hurt, it was a mistake.

  • 1ST DEY DINT MAKE HIS LIPS BIGGER , KIKWANG JUST HAS A BROTHERS LIPS. AND I THINK ITS GETTING WAY TOO FAR .HE DOESN'T HAVE ANY CONTROL OF DIS CUZ HE IS UNDER A CONTRACT WITH DEM AND THAT HE HAS NO CHOICE BUT TO DO WAT THEY TELL HIM. AND PLUS RACISM IS EVERYWHERE . BUT EVEN BLACK COMEDIAN MAKE FUN OF ASIANS ,WHITE PPL AND ARABS EVERYDAY AND PPL WOULD STILL THINK ITS FUNNY .BUT AN ASIAN DOESNT IT TURNS TO A BIG DEAL . IF U WANNA BLAME ANY ONE BLAME THE PRODUCERS OF THE SHOW.(P.S I AM BLACK)

  • @SooShiny Thank You.

  • @SooShiny And white comedians make fun of every race as well, south park is a good example of this. But asians seem to only make fun of black people. Never seen them make fun of any other race.

  • Kiki i'm hurt. PD and producers i'm REALLY hurt. *sad face* I'll probably be over it by tomorrow cuz racism is everywhere. And I'd rather deal with it here than fussing about whats going on over there. At least he learned something a the end of the day... I think

  • lmao funny... did u see peter chao's video about black people?

  • well honesty if dnt know why he did it then its not called racist ...

but if he would have said o i did this cuz this is wat black ppl are..then that is racist...im not racist at all .. but if you really dnt now the really story behind it then you cant just start saying this is racist ... thats just your opinion ... thats how i learn it ..it can be called racist or just ignorance ...

  • @garcia1442 True.

  • @Amalitha1 THANKS :)

  • OMG I CANT BELIEVE THIS HAPPENED I UNDERSTAND WHY YALL ARE MAD BUT I DONT THINK THEY WERE TRYING TO BE MEAN OR RUDE I ALWAYS LAUGH WHEN PEOPLE MAKE FUN OF MEXICANS(by the way im mexican) I EVEN MAKE FUN OF MY OWN RACE ...................BUT THIS HAPPENS EVERY DAY JUST IGNORE IT ........I STILL LOVE MY ASIANS AND black ppl & ALL OTHER RACES ! DUECES

  • @SilentMagicianGirl Honestly I don't see why racism here makes the racism in korea okay? That's like a child pointing to someone and saying he did it too. And? Does that make it right? So im not allowed be offended for what some black racist do. Should I say you aren't allowed to complain about black racist because some asians are racist against black people. No because that doesn't make any of it right. This is just another excuse.

  • @SilentMagicianGirl honestly, not many black people go around teasing asians. black people don't have a reason to, and if black people as a whole have beef with any race, it's white people. it's just that, asian people seem to not like black people at all. hence, the "oh, just let it go" attitude when an idol does or says something offensive to blacks. let me ask you; why would BLACK PEOPLE even know about kikwang if they hated asians? lots of blacks love kpop & other asian cultures.

  • @prodigychild1988

I wanted to say something in regards to your response to SilentMagicianGirl. I'm Asian, and I've experienced racism first-hand from African Americans. Also, embracing Asian culture doesn't mean that Asian people are embraced. Take a look at the TV series "Firefly" (which everyone seems to love). It's influenced HEAVILY by Asian culture, but there's not ONE Asian lead. Not one. Asians are reduced to prostitutes and the lowest form of people on the social ladder. Disgusting.

  • @MikeS892 In the last post you said your not trying to say that one thing is wrong that somehow excuses the other. But then you say you've experiencened racism from african americans. Hence black people do it too argument.

  • @Jazzy115

You're also misinterpreting my posts. prodigychild1988 said that black people don't go around teasing Asians, and that they don't have a reason to. I'm simply saying that I've experienced racism from African Americans. So, am I not allowed to make that point? Did I ever say that one wrong action excuses another? Please point out where I alluded to that. I was just responding to someone claiming that African Americans don't make fun of Asians, which is wrong.

  • @MikeS892 well, I'm Blasian, and I've experienced both types of racism. But on a large scale, Blacks don't hate Asians (unless you live in California, in the areas where that Black & Korean beef went on.) Also, what you said about "appreciating the culture" goes both ways. Asians love some hip-hop and R&B, but disrespect Black people. It's confounding. And all I'm saying is, TWO WRONGS DON'T MAKE A RIGHT. Blacks and Asians are similar and should be together, and not against each other.

  • @SilentMagicianGirl i dont hate ki kwang but he should thought about what he was doing

  • @SilentMagicianGirl I was just about to write the same thing and then I read your comment and was like: Oh, em gee, this is exactly what i meant to say now, but said in a better way, lol.

4 the girls: As @SilentMagicianGirl said, it's not Ki Kwang's fault! As you said too, "they painted his face black", "they made him do"... this and made him do that, so how is he at fault? He was just doing what his producers say. [Don't talk bad about Ki Kwang, I'm gettin mad.]

  • @SilentMagicianGirl Either way you look at it it's offensive and the producers should have known better. You're sitting up here targeting black people saying that they do this and that when I'm pretty sure they aren't the only race who have done offensive things. It's not right and should be stopped. If people say rude things to you everyday then its up to you to say "hey don't say that, its offensive". Don't have that attitude where you feel its okay because black people do it to you.

  • @SilentMagicianGirl thank you thank you thank you

just... THANK YOU even though i feel kikwang's actions were not necessary but THANK YOU

  • @SilentMagicianGirl How does any of that make blackface okay?

  • @SilentMagicianGirl okay and white people do it too, Miley Cyrus.. but i guess u love white people so much that youll look passed it, and its a differents its not like we are painting our faces yellow and screaming chickity chunga chineses chicken.white people do it way more then black people but other asians look past it because they wanna be white.contacts dying there hair, and yes i can say this people i am part asian but i am also still black and this still offends me.

  • lmaolmaolmaolmaolmao hahaha hahahahaha

  • i agree kikwang doing the minstrel man thing... NOT FUNNY AT ALL.

maybe he didn't know the significance of it (esp since he's young, not black and lives in another country). or just didn't think about it.

whatever the case i hope that in the future he doesn't repeat this offence.

I hate the minstrel/black face thing. First, nobody looks like that. Second, being mocked like that is hurtful

  • i totally agree.

the moment i saw that scene i was like 'ohhhhhh shiiiiit not cool' i'm korean just fyi. i thought it was a very bad move made by whoever came up with that idea. and ki kwang was just doing what he was told. poor kid.

  • It was his fault, to some extent. We have a choice in everything. If he didn't want to do it, there was no way they could have forced him to. It might have pissed some producers off and set the show back a bit but it was still an option and he didn't take it. Ngl, I'm disappointed in him. I thought he would've known better.

I don't get how people can defend him over this. I love Kikwang but what he did was inappropriate. People make mistakes and we move on but don't try to justify their wrongs.

  • I love Lee KiKwang! But this really upsets me. I agreed with everything you guys said. I think it's rude how all the fan girls are making excuses. Specially when it's obvious that something is wrong here. I'm African American and I love a lot of k-pop artist but imagine if the situation was switched and it was an african american artist doing something like this and it offended asians.

  • What KiKwang did, it shouldn't be taken as SUCH a big deal. Every race gets impersonated good and bad. People will take anything offensively. What good does it do to talk about it after it's been done. Like his life will go down or something. He probably won't hear of this and hide. I Love KiKwang and just let him be for his passed action. People are so stupid nowadays complaining about something so little but they don't complain about what are the REAL bad things that are going on. Idiots.

  • @Amalitha1 I'd like to start this out saying that I understand you're a fan. I too am a fan. I love B2st. And I don't think these ladies are saying you shouldn't be a fan. Every race being impersonated is NOT a good thing in any way, shape, or form. It escalates generalizations. I feel that if something a celebrity did made fun of your race and it hurt your feelings, it would NOT be stupid for you to feel hurt. Its human and we all need more understanding .

  • @Greek4Honeybee Honestly, I wouldn't feel bad to the point where I'd make a video about it and everything accusing this and assuming that. But of course, I'd ask why they'd even think about impersonating my race and why couldn't they have done something else for a joke. But a joke is a joke, knowing it's from KiKwang. Sure, Jokes can only be taken up to a certain point. BUT, clearly, this wasn't meant to hurt anyone or come from a prejudice view. I'm sure. Anyone else offended by my views, Sorry

  • @Amalitha1 Well i know personally it did hurt a bit. Where not accusing anyone of anything were just talking about what happened. Now unless youve had to deal with stereotype then i guess you wouldnt find it a big deal, but when people see this they REALLY believe this is how EVERY black person acts and looks. It wasnt funny. Even if that was what it was ment to be, because it wasnt educating people it was putting a false image out for others who have no connection to that image to laugh at.

  • @MicrowavedGumbo I would understand if it hurts Blacks. I have no right to say it should hurt at all. But, it's not like they intentionally did it to hurt anyone. I think nowadays, people just make things bigger than they really should be. If people are so offended by what KiKwang did, and if it was so wrong of them to do, then keep blogging about it. I dont' think it'll change anything else but keep making people mad leading to nowhere. Eventually, the event will fade and people will move on.

  • @Amalitha1 But see that is the reason that people should talk about it. This hurts some people. It just does. I completely understand why to you it means nothing or very little to you but there are those who this effects. The point is even if this was meant in all good fun. For some fans it brought bad feelings and didnt sit well with them. We arent trying to make a big deal out of it just because. I want people to learn that this behavior no matter who isnt right.

  • @Amalitha1 I want others to learn from what happened here. For people to think how this may actually effect others so that they dont repeat this kind of stuff. We arent say kikwang is a horrible guy. He may not have know what to do or that this would hurt some of his fans, but thats why we decided to talk about it. So that some people can see it does hurt others. Even if its meant to be funny. I see this video as a way to educate others as to how it effected someone of the race he was imitating.

  • @Amalitha1 No matter whos being imitated. No one likes to be stereotyped and thats the truth. We just wanted others to get a different perspective on the issue. I really hope you watched the whole video. I saw one of our comments about how you didnt want to watch the whole thing.

  • @MicrowavedGumbo I understand where you're coming from and I completely respect your thoughts. Hopefully, everyone who was offended by this is happy now, now that they got their opinions out and across. I don't know if it will ever reach Korea but maybe you all can just keep your fingers crossed that they won't do something like this again.

  • @MicrowavedGumbo We've all dealed with sterotyping. If u watched Dont be a Menace to South Centeral while drinking your juice the Marlan brothers made fun of Koreans/Asians. It was funny as hell because we all kno its a freaking joke. Unless if Black people are really embarrassed of their own race then yes I can see why you guys would have a problem with it..Bottom line is be proud of who you are that even other race would want to use your ethnicity in a show

  • My bad I meant the Waynes Brother..haha

  • @mcha331 Lol @ being proud of other races using stereotypes in their shows. Dead @ you being proud of koreans/asians being made fun of by the Marlon brothers. I won't even...

  • @inasexymood man you are entertaining..LMAO...keep it coming keep it coming..LOL

  • @mcha331 Lmao, you are too damn funny. Talk about something else because you can't argue xD.

  • @inasexymood nah I dont want to be the cause of your brian aneurysm..lol..nothing but love for everyone...haha..bottom line is if you cant handle a joke then dont watch it..peace out

  • @mcha331 Obviously since there is racist history behind it its more than a joke. If a race has a history of being mock by almost every culture obviously their going to be more sensitive to it. And the marlon brothers did not make fun of asians in the way they made fun of blacks. And actually... look up the asian community being upset about things like miley cyrus immitating asian eyes and the avatar movie being played by whites. Asians are sensitive about certain things as well.

  • @Amalitha1 perfectly ok that you wouldn't feel bad enough to make a video. Everyone needs some way to express their feelings. And I don't think these ladies were making any assumptions. They were explaining what they saw and how it made them feel. I don't recall hearing them say Kikwang is racist. I'm sure they don't think he is. And blackface goes beyond just black people. All races used to be made fun of in this form. I hope you don't read this in a harsh way.

  • @Amalitha1 I am constantly defending ppeople who say something negative or steryotypical of asian. I tell them they are wrong and that thier words can be demaning and not every asian acts this way speaks this language or looks that way. So when i see them do something like this it doesnt sit well. If its for laughs then its basicly them making fun of certain aspects some black people have. Whats so funny about the features on someones face. If they wanted it just to be a joke why couldn't they

  • @MicrowavedGumbo Good for you and I should Thank You. And Ofcourse, it doesn't matter what Race, if something is not right, action should be taken. I didn't watch the whole video of KiKwang thoroughly, but I just knew, it wasn't going to be as funny but fun, nor did it meant to be a big problem like what people made it into. I don't mean to offend anyone with my comments. So please, before assumptions are made, I'm not racist. T_T

  • @Amalitha1 just have hm eat watermelon crazy. See the problem is they added uneccesarry things that really didnt have to be there at all. It would have been just as funny if he had to eat watermelon in a ridiculous manner. So why add in the blackface, afro, earrings. Theres no need or pint of it other than to basicly make fun of anther race. Cause honestly what other reason did they have for adding those aspects in. Its just if you have black fans who respect your culture enough to listen

  • @MicrowavedGumbo

I know it was bad but

its not like black people never make fun of asians.

happens all over the world, this one just happened to be on tv.

  • @CongoLime503 5:46 "I hate when people say ignorant things about any race". I would have to agree with @MicrwavedGumbo on that matter. I absolutely hated Breakfast at Tiffanys because Mickey Rooney portrays a Japanese man in a very negative light. No one should be making fun of any one. And if someone is making fun of you for your race, you are well within rights to tell them that you don't like it.

  • @CongoLime503

Very true and the reason why it's more of a sensitve subject with African Americans is because of the American history behind it. I learned everything while I was in school and even in college (really opened my eyes) but most asian countries aren't taught those things.

I remember Eddie Murphy portraying an asian man in Norbit and everyone thought it was freaking hilarious! (not me)

  • @havefaith89

    Yup

That african thing is american history

korea doesnt learn about american history in school

and it was offensive but you guys need to chill out.

  • @CongoLime503

    "Chill Out?" lol

    I'm fine!

  • @havefaith89

oh sorry I'm not talking to you with like half of it.

chill out is to the other people :o

  • @Amalitha1 to your music, why do something like this that is and has always been seen as disrespectful to our culture. Its something that could have easily been avoided. period.

  • @MicrowavedGumbo seriously get over it, racial stereotypes are everywhere. If american television portrayed the asian stereotype of being short, nerdy, slit eyes, knowing kung fu, eating fried rice, it wouldnt be a problem. i dont know why your complaining, it seems like you think Africans should get special treatment for racism.

  • @p0kgai Asians complain all the time about racism look up the miley cyrus doing squinted eyes and look up stuff about the avatar the last air bender movie. And if asians choose not to complain about it and let people step all over them than thats them. You can't tell other people how to feel about something. How do africans get special treatment. You realize that is stereotype as well?

  • @Amalitha1 Every race get impersonate, but blacks have a history behind black face and blacks have the worse stereotypes of all race which is why most countries have the negative view of just blacks, thats why its offensive, you honestly can't understand that? And sense when is racism not a REAL bad thing. It a serious matter that affects peoples lives and feelings. And I was a big fan of him and was hurt by this.

  • @Jazzy115 If Blacks are the only ones who gets impersonated the most, haven't anyone thought about what could possibly be the reasons? I mean, I'm not saying it in a bad way or anything. Also, I honestly have to say I can never understand exactly how you offended people feel, but I can be empathetic and say, sorry for what KiKwang and his crew did. And I do know some Koreans who loves Blacks, so hopefully no one goes hating on them now.

  • @Amalitha1 Yes ppl have discussed this topic a lot, mostly because are facial features are a lot different from most ethnicities, in most places see white as the top and blacks as the bottom, so they make fun of who is at the bottom, and a lot of it has to with stereotypes and other things that are mostly seen all around the world from americans media. I don't hate the whole Korean population but this incident has been done numerous times in their country.

  • @Jazzy115 In reality, that's the way life is. *Caucasians will always dominate America over any other Race. Blacks just aren't at the bottom. Any other race besides White will always be lower. And I see all colors being mocked/inpersonated. Even Asians, which, I honestly find uncomfortable but what can I really do about it. It' a part of life. People who doesn't realize racism hurts others will never change. And that mostly comes from the supposedly "*Superior" group.

  • @Amalitha1 Okay well I believe we could if people stop ignoring the problems of racism but that's just me. Anyways blacks are the most affected by racism in this country do to the fact that we have the worse stereotypes criminal, agressive, poor, rude and that's what I meant by we are at the bottom. That is reality, if you have negative things associated with your race your going to get negative responses in the way people treat you even if your exact opposite of that.

  • @Jazzy115 Well if people keep complaining about why *Blacks are always stereotyped the most and why they are claimed to be so low, then there must be something not right going on with the *target. The only way we can escape from the negative views towards our own race from society is to go where we belong, where we'll blend in right with the rest. That's that.

  • @Amalitha1 Go where we belong? What do u mean by that statement? And whats wrong with the "target"?I love how when someone speaks out against racism its usually that person who gets trashed or told they r doing something wrong and not the person who did do something wrong. What a great world we live in.And you obviously didn't appreciate how we felt since you called ppl idoits for saying something about it,and for this last ignorant comment you just made, yeah I would say you were wrong for that.

  • @Jazzy115 No Thank You. GoodBye.

  • @Amalitha1 That didn't make any sense...

  • @Amalitha1 Also, in South Korea they seem to ONLY make fun of blacks,I have never seen them make fun of a whites, hispanics etc. U say every race gets made fun of... well it doesn't seem that way in SK and they seem to have this really negative view point of poeple with dark skin in general. So PLEASE explain to me how this isn't a REAL issue? But I guess its okay for some1 who isn't experiencing this kind of racism to completely disregard some1 elses feeling who might have been hurt by this act.

  • @Jazzy115 I believe South Korea is NOT the ONLY country or place that makes fun of Blacks. It's EVERYWHERE. I'm sure Asians make fun of Asians and Black make fun of Blacks. And ofcourse, I've been judged and made fun of for being Asian. I've gotten racist comments and gotten ugly looks. But I don't let it bother me down to my ass. I rather say "SCREW YOU", and move along with my Life.

  • @Amalitha1 Again asians don't get mock the way black ppl get mocked, people constantly praise asians on being the smartest/hardworking/ the best minority group and that blacks/hispanics should be more like them. And i've never seen anyone do an "asianface" before. The way asians are made fun of is not the same as the way blacks are made fun of.If you have a history of being mock and made fun of all around the world your going to be more sensitive to racial issues and I'm sick and tired of it.

  • @Jazzy115 Then it's not my fault for the way Blacks get mocked. Also, that's another stereotype about Asians being Smart/Nice handwriting/Artists/ETC. ANYONE can be that. There are 'Asianfaces' everywhere. You probably just haven't seen them. But I don't really see Asians making a big deal out of it. Unless, it's to the point where it disgraces the culture. And who wouldn't be sick and tired of intended racism.

  • @Amalitha1 Asians are stereotyped but i've never seen someone pull their eye back like an asian person and use something keep that way, wore something to make their face look "flat", talked with an asian accent and ate kimchi or rice, all at the same time as means to mock asian identity, I see asians get made fun a lot but never to that extent. I never said it was your fault for blacks getting made fun of but I don't think its right of you tell someone how they should feel about the situation.

  • @Jazzy115 I appreciate what others feel about this situation. Them having this video up, I'm assuming it's for everyone's opinion, and now I'm just stating how I feel. Is that so wrong. >.> Furthermore, I have nothing majorly against anyone and how they feel about this whole KiKwang thing.

  • @Jazzy115

You've never seen Asians stereotyped to that degree? You need to do some research on yellowface. It's been widely accepted far longer than blackface. Asians face more racism in the entertainment industry than African Americans. Hell, there's a film in development about Genghis Khan that currently has MICKEY ROURKE starring as Khan. Now, imagine if a film about Martin Luther King, Jr. starred Tom Hanks as Dr. King. There would be an uproar. But, when Asians are involved, nobody cares.

  • @MikeS892 No i've nvr seen yellowface in my lifetime. Yes I know about yellowface in past but I don't see ppl all around the world mocking the asian race. And yes I know all about asian racism. Most of the movies that I know are racist to asians like avatar and 21 I didn't go see or support. And black ppl are only in films if they are mixed or they are playing stereotypical roles. Rarely do I see a black person on tv acting like a normal person.

  • @Jazzy115

The Genghis Khan film has barely been mentioned. Also, Asians constantly have to play stereotypical roles in films, too. Most Asians have to portray nerds, submissive people, martial artists, etc. Do you realize that "Harold And Kumar Go To White Castle" was the first non-martial arts film in history to feature two Asian male leads? It took UNTIL 2004 for that to happen. And you want to discuss TV? There are less than 5 U.S. series in TV history to feature a predominately Asian cast.

  • @MikeS892 Yes im aware of this but like I said before no I dont see yellowface anymore or asians being mock all over the world and I don't see how racism in america excuses this incident. And most black tv shows are moved to BET or cancelled within the first 3 seasons because they dont appeal to the white audience. I do think asians have it worse in media representation here but in terms of stereotyping in the media blacks have it worse. Id rather be thought of as a nerd than a ghetto criminal.

  • @MikeS892 I would also like to say that when miley cyrus did that slant eyes look and it was posted all over korean sites but when kikwang blackface not even american kpop site posted it.

  • @MikeS892 let me ask you something, is it okay when something wrong is done, to then do something wrong back? that's what you're saying. because of "yellowface" it's okay for someone asian to do "blackface"? personally, i find both of them wrong and offensive. you shouldn't excuse one, just because you were offended by the other. by that logic, i could say yellowface is okay because asian people do blackface. but.... it's still not okay.

  • @prodigychild1988

What are you talking about? You completely missed the point of my posts. I was never saying that just because one thing is wrong, that somehow excuses the other. I was merely pointing out that it's wrong to think that Asians have not been victims to stereotyping and racism to the degree of blackface. As I alluded to before, Asians have experienced yellowface, which has been more widely accepted in the entertainment industry in the last century than blackface.
