  • Nice clip of Classic Dancing, back in the days of musical films; however . . .

Why did you RUIN this film by putting in such a LOUSY audio track. The audio track should be in the TRASH CAN, not on YouTube.

  • You call yourself a fan?

  • Awful music and an insult to the dancing......particularly to the unique Mr.Astaire.

  • que musica mas horrible !!!!

  • Maybe you can try with a video of Mae West and music of AC/DC

  • the music should be Sway!

  • Wonderful video :-) I love the clips, I love the music and the way you matched them! It's artistic. Don't mind the bitter comments. 77 people don't know how to appreciate someone's good work.

  • you lost me with Gwen Stefani, I loath her obnoxious voice. (no offense)

  • I watched an awful lot of AMC back in the 80s when I was little. My mom taped the majority of the Fred and Ginger films from there; I loved them! I'm curious though: why should the music in a fan video have to match the time period of the video clips? Not liking the song itself is one thing--I probably wouldn't if it stood alone--but I think it works well in context. The clips are well cut to take advantage of the rhythm and progression of the song. They create a sense of timelessness together.

  • lol wtf

  • Great medley of this elegant pair.

  • Well, I'm glad you agree with me now, despite my "metal" block. LOL

  • @foamulator ..No, I don't agree with you. Fred and Ginger are elegant and classy. I know, you must be trying for irony.

  • great job awesome vid and loved the music :) five stars

  • Cool. I'm a fan of both - NO Doubt and Fred and Ginger. That was fun. Have you seen their Carioca dance? Would love to see somebody put some other music with that. It smokes. Probably the hottest dance that Fred and Ginger ever did.

  • That's really good, the clips coincide extremely well with the different mouvements of the music. I love it !

  • Well I LOVE IT!!! :)

  • Actually, I love the clips. It's just that the choice of music for these dance scenes is totally innappropriate. You could try to waltz to Def Leopard, I suppose, but it doesn't work, and neither does this. Sorry.

  • shitty music

  • I really liked it = )

  • I sing about Astaire in The Celebrity Song.

  • Great film...utterly rubbish dubbed music!

  • i actually really liked this and i did this kind of dancing

  • ???? whats happening here then?? this is awful

  • C'est quoi cette merde de chanson ? Comment peut-on dégrader de si bons danseurs.

  • oh my goodness why would you butcher their dancing by putting it to this crap BAD!!!!!!

  • Wonderful tribute!!! I love Ginger and Fred!!

  • Great Video!!!!

You know I think people are being rude just because what you wrote I have seen videos for Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly with modern music and no one was complaining.

  • This does ruin the whole thing.......The music was a really bad choice

  • Hit the mute button u fuckin idiot the music is crap. Go get your soul back.

  • i cant tell you how much I love this video. Big time No doubt fan and Big time fred and ginger fan. Thank youuuu!

  • 素晴らしすぎる

    小さいころビデオで見たものばっかりだわ。

  • video is great ..nice to watch that good old stuff...and that song fits very good ;)))))

like that although the sound is bit scratchy! ;)))

  • Great job! For those who don't like the music, they can hit the mute button. Thanks for providing another video of my favorite dancing couple! I've seen all their movies, too.

  • Thank you so much for putting this together - I agree that Fred would have got a kick out of this. I think a modern dance track (and a bit less distorted!) would maybe work better but I love the whole idea of it. It makes me so happy to watch them dance - thank you!

  • I think you did a great job of editing this video, of matching the music to the movement. People who think it's desecration don't understand filmmaking! You are simply putting classic pieces of film together in a new way. You are being creative. I studied film and revere Astaire & Rogers. I think you will attract new audiences by using the contemporary song. Good for you for stretching & growing! You honor them by wanting to communicate what they mean to you. Keep up the good work...

  • Nice video, but the music doesn't really match the style or era.

  • what film is it where they are both dancing in suits??? Cool vid

  • Top Hat if we're both talking about 1:11

  • yup thats the one cheers mate : D

  • Where do you GET this kind of footage?

  • The footage is from Ginger Rogers & Fred Astaire movies. There is a boxed set of all 10 of their shows that is available. But, they should come with a warning that they're quite addictive.

  • I knew what the footage was from, I was asking how she got it in an editable format. You think she ripped it off of the DVDs?

  • Yah, my dad got a DVD burner for Christmas a few years back and I used that. :P

  • Loved it!!

  • Happy 110th birthday Fred

    u rock

  • Great clips..........music SUCKS

  • @foamulator ...Perhaps you are referring to the sound quality? I hope so, because if I take you literally, you would be saying that one of Cole Porter's great songs sucks. It doesn't...which if we follow this logic...It's your opinion which SUCKS. Imp[led in this now...is that either you have a metal block against good music, or you are simply uneducated. So which is it? As I said, it's more likely you were referring to the sound quality. Let's assume this, and let it rest there.

  • @followthefleet1 Since this isn't the original music for the film, your comment makes little sense. Anyone who has learned to dance some, will say the same.

  • @foamulator ...Actually it's the application of this raspy music over their great dancing that makes little sense...And both Fred and Ginger would agree with me.

  • @foamulator I´m agree. I prefer the original music!

  • Sweeny-ignore the haters-I like the choice of music; it shows how incredibly timeless they and their amazing talents are....

  • Keep going! I love Fred and Ginger and you did a fantastic job matching the music with their dance!

Don't listen to anyone says other wise! ;)

  • Watching Fred & Ginger makes me VERY HAPPY:D

  • their are the best dancers ever i would love to know how to dance like them

  • wow that guy was amazing ...shit!!!

  • Oh and I totally agree with/respect your statement about the haters...I did a Fred and Ginger video too and got some of the same responses so I had to do the same thing in my little video comments. That wasn't everyone, though!--I don't want anyone here to get the wrong idea! Most people have been very sweet and gracious.

  • Man, I first saw this one a long time ago but I think it may still be my favorite YouTube video ever. Sigh...how I love Fred.

    Oh and Ginger, hahah.

  • Grotesque massified child taste.

  • Lovery cool!!

  • This is what happens when the children of the Muses turn it LOOSE.

  • -MELTS-

  • Die beiden sind genial.

  • Simply beautiful!Fread and Ginger are absolutely gorgeous. The rhythm of the song goes well with the steps.

  • loved it!!!

  • OHH I REALLY LIKE IT!! .. can you tell me the tittle of the song? --thanks!i love fred and ginger too! and this remix is fantastic!! good job!

  • It's "Bathwater", by No Doubt.

  • I think its wonderful how Fred & Gingers dancing can fit any modern piece of music, just shows how marvellous they were and still are. I love this vid and the music is perfect, if you listen well. there are hints of the past in the music. Thank you for making this :) I love it.

    Fellow Fred & Ginger Fan

  • I think it's a great video! I hate people complaining that it doesn't have "of the era" music. This is just for fun, and if you want to see the originals then watch the originals! I LOVE Fred and Ginger and I own all of their movies but I don't think it is a disgrace to their class and legacy!

  • The song ain't so bad, but the MIX is terribly distorted!

  • please send me title this song to private message.

    please:]

  • Obviously you don't appreciate true genius; you don't like it so it HAS to be the most terrible thing in the world! I don't believe she has ever said she was an 'artist' or that this is an 'unforgettable production'. Don't put words in other peoples mouths, thank you very much. They can speak for themselves.

And if anybody is under-cultured or politically incorrect, it you due to your closed mindedness. If you don't have anything nice to say, then keep you mouth shut. Have you no manners?

  • Superb video. If Fred and Ginger were around today this is the sort of music they'd be dancing to.

  • IGNORE RUDE COMMENTS

you did a superb job on this, as far as the music, it isn't MY favorite, but if thats what you like, than that's just fine! I mean, it is YOUR video. I give it 5 stars *****

    Great job!

  • As far as the remark about Fred not kissing Ginger because his wife was jealous? That had more to do with the "Hayes Code" in place at the time. Look it up! You will see why there was not much kissing in ANY of the early movies!

Besides, Fred's *almost kisses* were much sexier on screen than most men's in real life! ;) He was a master of getting just close enough for us to think he was gonna kiss her, then didn't. That was far more seductive & sexy than if he would have actually kissed her!

  • The only way one can watch this vid is to turn OFF the sound and put a Fred Astaire CD on in the background.

I really think you should have put more thought into the music you selected. It in no way goes with 1930's dancing and style. I LOVE the clips, only watched the it without the sound.

AND, There are other Fan vids of Fred and Ginger that don't butcher the whole thing with a very poor and tasteless piece of music. I'll watch those!

Nice vid, PLEASE GET RID OF THAT HORRENDOUS SOUND!

  • good. because no one has to please YOU.

  • I love it.

  • Forget all these people who leave negative remarks. Yes, everyone's entitled to their own opinion, however you have to seek this out, so obvi you wanted to see this. The music plays well with the dancing. It's actually a tribute to the man (and woman) since it shows the same style of dancing can be used with a modern song: blending traditional with modern. Get with the times people. I love the way they danced back then, but remember it's '08 not '38. The end is my fav with Freds fingers.

  • beautiful, great, a real gift! the music is a perfect matching with dancing and it enhances the pure art of Ginger and Fred. They are so dear to me and watching this video made me feel lots of beautiful and recharging emotions. i find this video is both exciting and touching. thanks a lot!

  • terrible

  • please find another hobby....

  • Sorry, couldn't watch much of it due to the music.

The music is a disservice to the dancing.

  • This music really doesn't suit your clip. The rythmn is wrong.

  • ...this is TERRIBLE. i was hoping for real music.

  • Talking to some one in the dance last night about the hunchback style of the Argentine Tango male dancer,Bending the head down full time as if finding the lost earring on the floor. He said he did not like it either, after I criticized him about two months ago. The time he responded that is the style. Now I noticed Fred bent his head down almost constantly to look at Ginger's feet. ....dancewu(dot)net

  • I don't like it, sorry. I don't like when the classics are ruined by new age music, especially this song. Just my opinion.

  • pop1; What do you expect from a 19 years old kid submitting this video?!--- dancewu(dot)net

  • Out of curiosity, what would my age have to do with anything?

  • You should definitely re-do it and fix the sound! It's very good, but the music sounds like you recorded it off an AM radio or something. Otherwise, it's great.

  • Thank you. I keep planning on updating this with the right music...

  • Great video!

  • bathwater xD

  • try playing the macho mambo over the top of this it goes soo well

  • I've found that MOST songs play well over this! Go figure. :)

  • @SweeneyTodd100

Disco music plays great over this Fred and Ginger dancing video. Check out Everybody Dance by Chic and Prom Night song from the soundtrack of the horror/thriller Prom Night 1982 movie.

  • Great talent is timeless and the music of today with yesterdays greatest dance team proves it.

Thank you for a creative video.

  • i dont like:(

  • I'm sorry. Thank goodness you don't have to watch it then, eh? :)

  • I truly enjoyed this!

I just love how you added the modern music to these classic dancers i LOVE and admire so much!

    -Fred and Ginger FAN! :D

  • *applauds*

I think this is one of the best fan vids I've ever seen, the rhythmn of the music matches their dances perfectly, and you've done a great job with choosing the dance clips too :D

  • No dance team will ever top Fred and Ginger!!!

  • i loved it im doing a bookreport on her and that helped alot because i needed to see what she wore

  • What you did is amazing! There are a few sound issues but WHO CARES...the song choice and timing was perfect. It captured everything and made it delightful to watch. Bravo!

  • thanks ..... brave choice of music. it works great.

  • That was put together really well. I LOVE Tophat...and the two of them are ...perfection!

  • Amazing! Great Vid! Great Song choice! absolutely perfect!

  • Amazing! Great Vid! Great Song choice! absolutely perfect!

  • The video and the dancing are fantastic, but what is with the music? It ruins the mood.

  • Soundtrack could be turned down a bit. In the related videos on the right is Fred and Rita to a Mazzy Star song. Inspiring.

  • the sound quality sucks. I'm doing a dance tribute to Fred and Ginger this year, it'll be SO much fun!

  • Mr SweeeneyTodd100: You are a MASTER!!.

Thanks for this excellent video. Greetings from Uruguay.

  • lol

  • funny

  • funny

  • The music sucks on this video.

  • That´s just great!!! I´d love to dance with Fred Astaire :)

  • i luff this vid so much it ace !!!

  • I think Fred would have gotten a kick out this. He liked all kinds of music and was a

great drummer too. This is great!

  • It's so fun. thanks

  • Me hubiera encantado vivir en akella época,k vestidos!!!más potitos

  • I personally loved it! Thank you very very much for posting, it was really interesting! Unusual, certainly, but a pretty nice experiment. The best thing for dancers is to try new things, steps, musics...thanks again, SweeneyTodd100! =)

  • Actually I think it goes quite well. Interesting, at least. :D

  • You need to relax. If you don't like something, don't watch it. I think the song gives the video an interesting mood.

  • Awesome vid. Love the song and awesome clips. Two thumbs up.

  • Great film clips but pretty bad song for tap and ballroom dancing.

  • i love the way he pulls her around with him...oh and who cares about the people that post and say this is horrible...dancers enjoy change and experimentation...i thought it was great!

  • I love Fred and Ginger and I think Fred would approve of this, as he liked to experiment with dance.perhaps the words are not suitable but the music fits so well with the scenes choosen.I like this very much and perhaps will encourage a new generation of fans. Well done. Shame about the sound quality. I hope another Vid is being planned

  • why is everyone freaking out? Yes this is an unusual pic for a song, but it doesnt take away from their wonderful dancing. It's NOT like spray painting the mona lisa, its more like displaying the mona lisa in time square. Its a modern backdrop, but the art is still the same!!!

  • I totally agree :)

  • This is desecration! Did you spray paint the Mona Lisa also?

    Take this OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • oh yeah, right!! Isn't television just an updated version of a story book??? black the new pink?? its the same tree just different leaves each season!! Fred and Ginger were great to any music, and are great in any era!!!!

Full stop. Fred and ginger rock!!!

Georege and Ira Gershwin, Dorothy Fields and Jerome Kern, No doubt or not.....Fred and Ginger are 'it' people!!!!

  • agreed. why choose a song (not thats theres anything necesarily wrong with no doubt any other time) that doesn't even fit the era, movies, or Fred+Ginger at all?

  • I don't usually agree with everyone on these clips, but this is a travesty.

Why would you put this awful song to Astaire and Rogers. Take it off.

This is is awful, awful, this couple is so above this awful sound, it is not even funny.

I wish I had away to erase what you have done, you must be out of your mind.

  • sweentodd100 shame on you

  • Simply horrible.

  • This is terrible. Sorry

  • No need to be sorry, it is terrible.

  • Is'nt though. They took a beautiful movie clip, that had a perfect song to it already and murdered it. I could'nt even listen to it.

  • What in God's name have you DONE?!?

  • This is a disaster. Take it off.

  • Without the original music this is an insult to the greatest dance team of all time

  • Sorry mate but I've gotta agree. You can't be a Fred and Ginger fan if you put this shite together. Fred DANCES TO the music...

  • who does this song is it gewn stefani ? sounds like her. I love gwen stefani but i think it dosent work with this clip....at all. lol

  • Exactly...some ppl don't seem to realize that a dance is locked and performed to a certain piece of music. And these two are not dancing and performing to some music that will be produced in a few decades in the future.

  • What is the name of the song?

  • great!!!!!!!

  • Nice vid. Execrable music. Such graceful dancing should be accompanied by the music that gave rise to the dancing, not this noisy grotesque garbage.

  • OOOOOOOHHHHHHHH MYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY GODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!

    i love these two!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

they're the most famous 'couple' ever! even though they were just a movie coupla but anyway...

    they were awesome!

you cant say ginger rogers without saying fred astaire and vice-versa

i'm fascinated by old cinema! and i'm 15!

    :D G&F

  • this video makes me so happy. I love these two

  • nah this music dosent do them justice. why do people ruin good things with over dubbing things that just ruins good video, if th emusic sucks people pass to the next video. as i been doing but had to stop to say i hate the over dubbing of the original,

  • i can't stop watching this video

    i LOOOOOOOVE it!

  • oh my gosh!!! You have NO IDEA how hard I've been looking for thid video!!!lol! I must hav went thru my favourites list about twenty times, and went thru all the fred and ginger tributes about twenty more!!lol! Who would have guessed I kept on mistaking it for another fred and ginger clip ( one I don't like ). Oh, SO happy I found it!! LUV this clip! Thnxs for the upload!

  • Really great, with this music, it's wonderfull !

  • Roberta (It's the "I'll Be Hard to Handle" number).

  • Absolute perfection! Excellent choice of music for these two masters. What perfection. Keep thinking of what Ann Richards said about Ginger, "and she did everything Fred did, but backwards and in high heels. Thanks, for great enjoyment you gave all of us. Best thing on You Tube bar none.

  • I loved it, especially the part at 02:11-02:24, their dancing synchronizes so well with the music playing. It's perfect considering the fact that the song playing now was not the one playing during the original recording of those two

  • Aren't they just gorgeous

  • They certainly are

  • OMG! I can't even remember whether I've already commented this or not. But that was a great song choice and a great dance team! Great choice of content! I LOVE it!

  • LUV IT!!!!:) The music. The clips. Fred and Ginger. Everything went so well together. Great Job:)

  • Awesome vid!!!

    great song for it

they were the best dancing couple, ginger was fred's best partner, and fred was the best

  • I know, they really had a great chemistry between them didn't they

  • Nice video. Fun to watch.

  • They dance together sooooooo well!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Got that right !!!!!!!!!

  • I love ginger rogers!!!!!! she is an amazing dancer!!!

I'm a dancer too but not as good as her I want to be though. I love her tap dancing!!!!!!!

  • You know that when your hearing her tap its not really here. Its her choreographer Hermes Pan. he always tapped for Gingers part and Fred always tapped for his. I still lover her though. But she wasnt the best. Eleanor Powell could beat her by a mile. Watch the Broadway Rhythm Clip. she dances in the last 3 minutes. Fantastic.

  • I did know that - but it just makes the tap dances all the more amazing because someone had to redo ever move of that dance all over again to get the sound right!

  • Don't worry you'll get there ,I'm sure
