Does anyone know what model number this set is? I have it but I'm really trying to find a new one since all the interesting pieces from this set are on other models I really don't want to destroy. I also lost the instructions for the main shuttle, which is really all I want. Hrmm.

Lego has really been ruined the last decade. I had the second generation shuttle, the one that actually looked like the STS with the canadarm, fuel tank, boosters, launch tower, crawler and everything.

@gschjetne I agree....they are getting into all of that technical sci-fy junk - they just need to get back to the roots with basic legos...City Works series still offers some hope though.

@hopintheroflcopter I can't remember the second generation shuttle having any electrical components, you must be thinking about a more recent edition. I have little knowledge of sets launched after about 1998.

I do, however, remember playing with my elder brothers' sets, he had the space base with the monorail! With the lights, the sounds...the massive base windows! Ahhh, nostalgia right there!!!

@hopintheroflcopter Very cool. I have some space sets, 6981, 6879, 6889 and the aforementioned 6339, though that technically falls under the Town series, where some of my favourite early to mid-90s sets are. I should really buy some before they get too rare or expensive.

@gschjetne Cool! Yeah get some soon! Even some of the more recent ones are getting pretty rare and expensive! There's something i love about the old sets, the complexity for one. I remember my brother had a police station at one time, made up of so many little bricks. The police station i had when i was small was very different, there was a lot of huge wall pieces. They've made some of it too easy in my opinion.

Amazing animation! As a young kid I have always wanted that shuttle, unfortunately I wasn't able to retrieve it. It looks pretty cool and I think of getting it someday off of bricklink or something :)
