Was yours a factory 4 speed because I know you have an automatic now but what was the original. I just got a 1974 challenger just like yours factory 360, vinal top, and I have the ram air hood.
@redneck9507 Rather sure it was originally the automatic 727 trans. Its been a too long for me to remember the order sheet from the factory. Mind sharing photos of your challenger? I'd love to see it.
Heh, custom mandrel bent and welded it myself. It was dual 2.5inch, with x-pipe and cut outs, to dynomax mufflers. I dont remember what the headers were, sorry.
Thx. Joel for a great vid!!! Love the sound of your 360. Is it a crate? You've done to your chally exactly what i'm planning to do on mine. Thx again for the inspiration. Your car looks great too. Is that the Gunmetal color?
1974 Dodge Challenger Rallye, 360, bored, stroked, ported n polished, 727 trans w/ shift kit, 4.10 in the rear, dual 2.5 inch exhaust, x-pipe w/ cut outs. Sry it hasn't been on dyno. Ran really consistant 13.0's to 13.1's ... absolutely clean body, all metal no mud. anything else?
You just do not hear sounds like that in the UK, over here, and its very sad, its all predominantly small 4 cylinder units, and they mostly all sound dreadful and dull giving everyone headaches. These Big block V8 monsters just sound so raw and insane, they are brilliant machines, we need more of these kinds of cars in the UK, big time.
now thats the way a muscle car runs. awsome thanks for sharing peace

Original series motor, though not numbers matching. It was; bored .20 over, balanced, 509 292 cam, holley 780 carb, 2.02x1.6 valves, crane 1.5 adjustable roller-rockers, ported & polished J heads.

Great engine sound, one of my favorite muscle cars of the 60-70's with its great sporty looks. Wish I had one.

Your cameraman must trust you very much. That was a great opening shot. The engine sound is perfection. Good job.
