@jedidwag It was the Sejuani patch that changed it; they didn't want her slows to proc red buff as well so Riot figured they'd just revert it back to auto attacks and on-hit abilities.

@nara070690 I'm not particularly good with either of those champions. I've played some Malz in my day, and I could probably make that happen, but I'd need some serious practice on Anavia. I understand how to play her, but I've just never sat down and practiced her. I do want to learn her though because she is pretty strong if you're good with her.

For dps items, I'm pretty sure that if you autoatk a lot, IE is better because you want to get the critical, and if going IE on Ez, probably wriggles somewhere for lifesteal, if your lane is winning, would be a good idea. If the character has an ability that scales really well with dmg though, then BT is the better choice such as with Cait.

@Th3Sh1n1gam1 I like to think that when you have long enough range (cait, late game trist and such) you get ie because it offers higher dmg for the loss of sustainabillity, whilst champs like Graves need bt in most cases because they have the best dps close range, and therefore more often get hurt. Also, you should consider lifesteal more if you don't have a soraka or ali, as a carry you need to be in lane and farm farm farm all day, sustainabillity offers you more to that aspect :)

For Ezreal's ult, I think it's best to use it only to initiate or to snipe. you lower your dps by using mid battle when the important thing is to kill the enemy dps.

Just wanted to comment on the format one more time; I don't play carries or Classic anymore, and yet I found myself watching the whole thing completely interested in everything you said/did. I think this shows that you're on the right track for commentaries if you can have my undivided attention for an aspect of the game that I don't even play!

When I play graves, I get two bloodthirsters, phan, IE, and build depending on how they try to mitigate. People always say I'm stupid to get the BT's, until I solo yi's and trynd's, healing through both their ults :D

@jedidwag The trick is to stay back. As Graves, sometimes you have a natural tendency to rush in guns blazing. And Life steal can only do so much (p.s I checked and I heal 120/hit ls at half stacks :D)

@puttyhands well, you see... the problem is that you're not talking about battling against guys with CC and dmg mitigation... you won't always be at max dmg output during team fights and when you get hit by cc's, you're gonna need something to get you through the cc.

I usually have someone with Black cleaver, and after my MAIN build I have two spots left for anti mitigation (Last Whisper, madreds, I've done tiamat and wiped a 4 tank team that was owning us and we won :D) As long as you're in the back the other team will have to break through YOUR team to focus or suppress you. That's why you let all the aoe and cc go down before you even start attacking, positioning yourself is key.

@jedidwag that's a good way of looking at it. What do you think of the pros saying that ezreal is one of the worst AD carries in terms of damage? I can only think of Vayne as a better carry and that's only when she's got like over half her build.

One last thing on the brutaliser, since I do like getting it for CDR rather than boots as I usually like tenacity, is having a double flash and a ghost from yoummus ghostblade too much mobility?

@jedidwag you sound like you know your stuff with ezreal. I wish I had recorded the game where I had a 5 minute bloodthirster. When you get good with aiming your Q you get quadrakills in level 1 teamfights.

what do you think of my ez build. start off with dorans blade > brutalizer > bezerker greeves > phage > zeal > shean > triforce > bloodthurster > infity edge > (situational items eg magic resist for ability power heavy team or frozen mallet for heavy ad.

i find the brutalizer gives you enough cooldown reduction, instead of getting the cooldown boots. i would love to know what you guys think. love to know what you say jedi :) great commentry +1

@CreamedCheeseHD It depends on your style. I play Ezreal as a mostly physical caster, so for me I don't care about the attack speed from zerkers. Brutalizer is a good item, but you must 100% replace it with a last whisper for endgame or you can't kill tanks. For that reason, I usually skip it and just grab LW 4th. I would get sheen sooner, but I like physical caster, so if you AA a lot then zeal first is fine. IE is great, I get it or malet after banshees, but the game is usually over by then.

@EvilGum I've revised my Ezreal strategy since that video/game where I said that.

Wriggles on Ezreal for me now is more of an item you get if you're losing your lane, or just having a hard time farming. It can help you survive better in a hostile lane, and CS under the tower. It'll also help you catch up on farm in the mid game.

In mid game if you're ahead, you want to fight, if you're behind you want to farm. Build accordingly. If you're not sure which you are, boots, dorans blade max of 3.

@aurasakiboy Yeah, they can get long. You can learn small things from watching entire games, like map awareness, lane control, harass, good CS, and stuff. But if you want to see the action and focus on micro and position, just watching the fights is good. :D

Very nice video. I love that you play ezreal, he's one of my favourite champions. Out of curiosity, why do you go bloodthirster over something like sheen+brutaliser if you have speaks for sustain?

@deonbomb Brutaliser is a good item on Ezreal, and gives a lot of great stats, but what I've found from personal experience is that it delays his build too much. I consider mid game when most of the first towers are down, and if you don't have boots 2, sheen, and bloodthirster by then, you're behind. Any fights you get into mid game where people are hitting you are going to be rough without that lifesteal. Your next item is last whisper anyway, making the brutalizer useless.

@deonbomb Also, if you're behind, I would recomend the alternative build (not the build in this video), which is wriggles, boots 2, trinity. You could probably get a brutalizer with that build after the sheen and before the trinity, and make it very effective. Since you're relying on wriggles for that lifesteal and could use some extra damage to go with it.

I build ezreal generally like you do. But give this build a shot : Dorans Blade to Start, Buy a SOTO, then buy a banshees veil after that. Plenty of Health/mana, and you never die.

@CodyThatGhost I'm really not a fan of snowball items. They're extremely risky and force you to play selfishly to collect and "protect" your stacks. There are more gold efficient items. Ez is early game after all.

That being said, they're my favorite items for super troll builds. :D I used to do 60 stacks team with friends on my stream all the time. Build was boots, all snowball items, trinity, GA, and frozen mallet. Every person on the team did it. We had some hilarious games doing that.

Yeah, that first fight. When sion got super low, he was disengaging, stick around and focus trist/alistar. What's done is done, obviously. But, try to stick with to the people who are killing your team. Specially since they completely ignored you.
