I was riding with my mom when I was younger, and a guy in a pickup truck did the same thing when we slowed down for the red light. Exept there was an oncoming car turning left also trying to beat the light. He killed himself and his 10 year old daughter, and one person in the other car. None had seatbelts on. Take it easy people, life is too short as it is.
I always obey stop signs out in the country and oftentimes wonder why? Mostly because if a cop is sitting on the side of the road.. it will be at that intersection based on my luck.. lol
