  • nice i live right up the street joking me and my dad stoped at that truck stop a couple times :)

  • i jizzed

  • the sound was from engine break.

  • the is loud nice sweet ?-_-??

  • sweet

  • sounds like my girlfriend snoring

  • love that sound :)

  • Awesome video

  • Sounds great man nice deep sound. Anyone have any say on the sound between a cummins and a cat?

  • why don't you hit the 2k rpm? sound more louder. I do it in mine's Kw.

  • I wish I could. It was set at 1,800 .

  • Too bad. Its from a truck company right? They do thatcause they not want to pay speed tickets.

  • @punkinhed81 where was that video at

  • @pillrush211 I 84 west bound exit 17

  • fargen rev it up there cobba!

  • that is the sweetest sounding jake. the pete at my work sounds just like that. got to love detroit.

  • That's a beast. Love them detroits. They pull like shit but they sound good. And Hotrod. You said it all with Cummins. Those jokers are quiet.

  • That's louder then our 65 freightliner with a cummins with no turbo!

  • damn boy that jake is loud as hell about to blow out my speakers

  • Son that thing is cutting up like a new pair of scissors !!

  • WOW!!!.I'd hate to be under a tunnel with that jake.

  • hey is this in ohio i think i have been there b-4 is this close to lima?

  • no north east pa wayne/pike county

  • @punkinhed81 ah, thanks sorry i got that confused looks similar, btw... im jealous of the pipes haha

  • love it something about detroits series 60 have one hell of a jake

  • it will sound better with regular mufflers on it ,, but reverse the flow bottom on top, top on bottom ,, then take a torch and cut some extra holes where all the factory holes are ,,, amazing difference

  • When my dad was in his 20s he had a straight piped 335SC cummins in his 65 narrow nose kenworth. He didn't think that was a problem then. If he had it today he'd have to put a muffler behind the turbo now that it's a problem to him. Boy i'm sure that jake crackled though with dual 5" straights.

  • why'd u have the jake turned on when u were upshifting?

  • It brings the revs down quicker for easier and quicker clutch less gear changes.

  • easier? when i shift clutchlessly, i just let the engine fall naturaly. it doesn't really take that much longer, and plus you're not fighting against the jake all the time. well, do whatever makes u happy i guess.

  • well its fun thats why and thats it i guess i do it all the time and there is nothing forcing the truck or the engine if you know how to do it right..

  • Many truckers leave the jake on all the time so they dont forget to turn it back on

  • when you have your jakes on you can switch ur cruise to on and the jakes will go once you tap the brakes..

  • wrong thats most of your power goin out the window and since real truck drivers dont use the clutch you have to match the rpms so its not possible to use the jake and do this it slows it down way to much

  • @nchayfarmer a detroit takes longer to come down on the rpm"s. so if u use the jake's,it will come down faster. otherwise it will take to long & u'll lose what u had. on a mechanical engine u can shift it a lot easyer than a electronic {computer}engine.

  • its called jake shifting, not sure on the technique though or its science, cuz im in the process of getting my cdl so yea. ^^

  • My brother has a KW T600 1989 with a 500 cummins two mufflers and no resonator and the jakes sounds like your truck jakes or a bit less loud. But ur truck jakes sound nice.

  • 89 Kw with a 500 huh. Must be a newer motor. Or has had alot of work done to get amount of HP.

  • Alright, I am a little dumb on Jake Brakes... I know that we have them on all of our fire trucks and I hate to drive with it turned off. Here is my question, why is it that on some truck when you shift the Jake kicks in and on others it doesn't? We have an older piece with a Detroit 6-71 and a 5 speed and ours does not do this. What causes it? Thank you

  • I dont know much about them either, but if I were to guess, I would say that the jake is kicking in b/c the switch that activates it is still in the "on" position. If it were switched off (which may have been the case with your fire trucks), it would not have kicked in while shifting

  • I'm a driver so i actually know what im saying. The Jake comes in if you raise your foot off the accelerator pedal to shift up or down whatever the case may be. That is Providing The Jakes are on. The jakes slows down the engine speed to match the transmission speed or vice versa......I use the jake instead of the clutch......Way Easier

  • if your jake don't kick in it's because

1-the switch is at the "off" position

2-your firetruck probably have an automatical transmission so if you press the brake pedal the jake dont kick in

3- the truck didn't have a jake brake it can happen

    and I know what i'm saying i'm a mechanic

  • SE OLLE HP

  • u will go deaf lol!!! god those detroits are loud alright!!!

  • wow loud much!

  • lol.. thats sounds like a farm truck.. a farm truck i see quite regularly.. wait a minute.. a stag wagon.. two stones. .whats goin on shaff.. its edwards.. how you came up on my "video's for me" I'll nvr know.. one of my first days on youtube and wala.. locals.. its edwards btw...lol

  • two best sounds in this world.

    1. downshifts with the jake blaring

    2.upshifts with the jake on

    Maybe3. Two Stroke Dirtbike
